Looks like you've been permanently banned.

      • +7

LOL, how to go out with a bang.

        • +3

I'm glad I managed to get a shout out before the end. He reminds me of that banned franco guy who also had a weird fixation with me 🤔

          • +2

@Clear: Both from VIC, franco cozzo is disabled now.
            prob the same user.

            new consiracy haha

            • +1

@Wiadro: franco also had major issues with me posting AliExpress deals. It's all starting to make sense …

At least this would be a more probable conspiracy than whatever he was trying to peddle.

              • +2

@Clear: How many times were you mentioned in his exit forum post manifesto?

                • +5

                  @Wiadro: 8 times

                  • +1

@Clear: damn i got one mention and had the warm and fuzzies

@Wiadro: I need to frame it next to that ribbon I won when I got 1st place in the 100m sprint back in grade 1.

@Clear: wow good work for the sprint

                  • @Clear: Omg I just saw that post. Not going to read it all but there is a CTRL+F result lmao

perma ban by the looks of it

          How can you tell?

          • +6

@PainToad: When you go onto a profile and it says penalty bin without a date then you know it's perma

            • +2

@Clear: I just read that in wiki. My bad I should have looked first.

      • +3

About time! I had him hidden and still he drove me nuts

  • Would this charge Amazon basics NiMh batteries? Assuming it is universal.

    • +2

I would say, yes. I have the charger and used to charge my Eneloops in it as well as some Energizer branded NiMH batteries in it with no issue.

I would not try charging NiMH along side 18650/LiIon batteries though.

      • Okay. Thanks. Good to know.

  • +6

good charger. got one last year to replace an og eneloops charger.

    • what happen to the og?

      • 1 pair refused to charge. I probably could have run it into the ground until it was totally dead but too inefficient to charge just 2 at a time

        • i feel mine doesnt even charge lol
or maybe my eneloops are f'd

          • +1

@Wiadro: Possible… some of my eneloops are prob nearly 10 years old if not more - most of them only lightly used though - I had an Eneloop collecting addiction back in the day because of ozbargain

            • +1

@Jimothy Wongingtons: I bought into Varta before eneloops were a thing, and they just don't die. Maybe lost 4 out of 40

  • +5

Plug is a USB A into DC barrel jack?

    So close yet so far…

    • +1

Unfortunately yes. Don't lose this cable peeps; it would be annoying to replace.

      • Jaycar + unwanted usb cable and a few minutes soldering.

    • They have usb-c models also on sale, costs more though but the usb-c model is what i bought in dec 2025.

  • +8

I got a Liitokala m4s for $20 in a recent Aliexpress sale that is powered via USBC and also has discharge + test functions.

I'd highly recommend it over this XTAR VC4 as it appears superior in everyway and can be had for the same price as this deal even when not on sale, and cheaper when it is.

  • +3

This does not support those newer Li-ion 1.5V batteries, the more expensive VX4 does. I recently bought Liitokala Lii-CH4 from AliExpress for under $20, it also can charge those Li-ion 1.5V batteries.

  • I really need a new charger but don't know much about these I bought the: "XTAR L4 Pro Smart Type-C 1.5V Li-ion & 1.2V NiMH/NiCD" for $22.86 which has USB C and Discharge&Refresh Function, is there a big difference, as I can still cancel before it ships. https://www.amazon.com.au/XTAR-1-5V-AA-Discharge-Rechargeabl…

    • That one can't charge 3.7v lithium cells such as 18650 batteries.

If all you need it is for standard AA/AAA charging then it's fine.

  • Where to buy good 18650 Batteries from

    • +3

Extract from discounted spare vacuum batteries from Kogan, etc.

    • +1

      Get about 50 from a scooter :p

I had a huge pack from a scooter but I couldn't get it home as I wouldnt have been allowed to take it on a plane lol

  • +1

Note, not "universal". It was universal 2 years ago when I posted, but doesn't do AA/AAA Li-ons.

    • Exactly XTAR has much better chargers that can also handle their own "1.5v" Li-ions.

This is no longer universal for the common household rechargeable (I'm already discounting LiFePo4 here since it's a bit niche). This only handles 2 battery types.

  • +2

Nice price but I prefer the SL models now since they can use USB-C for power input, which is more convenient for me.

    • I bought the SL, costs more but the convenience of the usb-c is better than specialized cable.

  • BLUDGER! Bought the L4 Pro yesterday for $26. I don't need the extra flexibility but wouldn't hate having it.

    • Can't you cancel if you bought it on Amazon?

      • +1

I actually messaged the seller and pretty much said I would be doing this but it seemed like a waste of time money and effort..the seller said they would refund me $4 once it arrives see what happens.

  • Great charger
Had one of these for years. Still works great

  • +1

This is a suss looking watch watchnerd :D jokes :D

    • Yeah I've got this in my watch list and this is just a price cycle.

  • I have the VC4SL that has a USB C port and supports QC 3.0. It is annoying you can' manually select charging current. It checks the internal resistance and will set the charging current automatically. The internal resistance measurement is way off and irratic. I also have the Liitokala M4s and it is the best USB battery charger. It is also cheap too, often on special for $10 on Aliexpress bundle deals.

    • Do you still have the speaker inside the M4S or did you have to remove it?

Mine still makes a beep sound even after removing the piezo speaker. No idea where it's coming from. At least it's much quieter now.

      • I didn't remove anything on mine.

  • Tempting. The VC4 is largely obsolete except for being (allegedly) better at jump starting over discharged/0V where newer chargers say null. However, my single slot liitokalas handle that fine already.

  • The Amazon review is just ordinary, 4.1. Is it a good product?
