Paying Bills with Bpay and Earning Points

What ways are people using to pay bills while earning CC points?

Previously use to BPay all bills on Zip as they had a $0 transaction fee but now they have reverted back to the $2.50 transaction fee.

Beem is long gone, I’m not sure what else exists that’s free anymore.

Sydney Water still accepts PayPal so able to use credit through that. It’s mostly just council rates.

Anyone know other methods that they are willing to share?

I also couldn't find any free options, so I went with ING 1% BPAY cashback

  • PostBillPay still works for council rates where I am, 0.4% fee i think through Paypal using PostBillPay

  • Cant think of a single '100% free' option

Ultimately the CC card companies have cottoned on to a lot of the "freebies" people like this community have trashed

Im still raging Citibank was broughtout by NAB

The best I could find for myself around 6 months ago was an offer from coles credt cards.
The offer was 1 year free coles plus membership with a Coles rewards credit card sign up (Which has since ended)
The credit card fee is $99 per year, but the bonus flybuy points and also the 10% off monthly shop easily paid that off after 3 months.
I've been cycling all my bills and just about everything else through it.

Otherwise I think ING 1% BPAY cashback is really the best free offer, like brokenenglish said.

    • Isn't the ING 1% cashback only for utilities not ato

      • Yes I believe the ING cashback is only for utilities.

  • Depending on your credit card and the amount to pay, paying $2.5 through Zip might still be a net benefit in terms of the total points we'll receive. The downside is it can't be paid using Amex. Otherwise, sniip could be an option as it is based on percentage

    • is zip pay a flat $2 fee

      • It’s a flat $2.5 fee

    • Well I don't have an amex card, would probably get a visa for this one. Have you used zip to pay for ato before. I'd assume its the $2.5 fee plus the visa processing fee ATO charges.

      • Used it before, no fees from ato since its payment through bpay.

        • Wait so, you use you credit card payment to load money on zip, which is free to do?? And then pay $2.5 to zip to do a bpay payment to ato?
