Exciting Comeback! The Macau Government Tourism Office, in partnership with Hong Kong Airport Direct, has relaunched the free direct bus service from Hong Kong International Airport to Macau! (Usually Around HKD 270-300+ for direct Airport bus, or HKD 65 for the cheaper HZMB Shuttle Bus)
If you have a long layover at HK airport, you can make a short visit to Macau, Please note the return trip to HK airport is not free.

Service Highlights:

Ticketing and Declaration Signing:

      Bus is 40-1 hr but the immigration will take the longest. Macau is very old school with immigration.

        I'm from Macau and I only need my phone to go through custom using retina scanning. Maybe not so fast for foreigners.

      I took this trip last year. It takes roughly 50 minutes. You don’t have to do any immigration clearance at HK. The immigration process is done at Macau.

      assume you still got few dole left. Use a free bus to Gongbei port then walk thru border clearance to Zhuhai. Food or everything is much cheaper to spare your losses

    If you are taking the direct bus from Macau back to the HK Airport and depart from there, remember to claim back the HK airport’s departure tax (~ HK$200) at the SkyPier terminal.

    Passengers who arrive at HKIA by SkyPier Terminal Transfer Coach for onward departure by air are exempted from the Air Passenger Departure Tax (APDT). A refund coupon will be issued to passengers with APDT paid with their air ticket during check-in at SkyPier Terminal or Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Macau Port. To collect your refund in cash, please present the coupon to the “Departure tax refund desk” at SkyPier Terminal after completing security screening on the same day.

      It's easy to apply for a visa. That's different to "it's processed quickly". It's going to depend where you're from.

      You can even check in your luggage all the way to Macau. They will transfer the baggage in the bus
