  1. What is Soft Freeze? Sets the drawer to 3°C

We have a Panasonic 421 litre bottom-freezer inverter fridge NR-BW415VWAU bought from Good Guys for $999 incl. $59 delivery in 2013.

At first, it didn't seem to keep a thermometer in a glass of water to the recommended temperature in the fridge compartment - a technician came out under warranty and said 'it's all computer - I can't change anything' - after that, we just left it and 12 years later still fine.

It DID make very strange noises - from gurgling, to gronk, to trickle, to weird combinations - the number of times I got up to investigate what the' - only to find it was the fridge.

And a friend ordered one like ours, and then said it was harder to pull the door open against the magnets

Whether the bottom drawer freezer is better or not, I'm unsure, but anyhoo ours is 12 years old and no worries mite.

I measured its electricity consumption in 2024 as between 25-43c/day or about $90/year.

    • I can't recall if there was one or two text boxes when I entered or not. Often they have multiple questions with only one box. I think I just put the following:
