  • where are you getting the OW giftcards?

  • Is OW still price beating DD? I thought that practise was banned several weeks ago.

    • +1

why OW stopped PM digi if you don't mind sharing?

      • Some members reported that OW were not honouring PB with DD in previous threads going back a few weeks. Others were successful so although it seems like a Head Office edict, perhaps not all stores or reps are heeding the advice. YMMV.

  • No way does OW actually price match this.

Also available in Silver at the same price

    • +4

can't as its not in stock says awaiting stock

      • try your luck. I was able to price match a "awaiting stock" before. Depend on who you get I guess.

        • Did you PB online or in store?

  • +1

    try your luck I'd say,

Digidirect doesn't list any model numbers so thats always going to be the first pushback when trying to do a PB (FYI they aren't a authorized Apple dealer as well).

hasn't stopped me PB with officeworks in the past though!

    • +1

I managed to price beat a foreign model number Galaxy S24U at office works in 2024, they called someone in the back to check it out, I heard over the phone him say to the lady at the desk, "I'm not happy about it but go ahead, do it".

    • +3

They do list it on the page, and it is the same as OW: MFYN4X/A

    • +3

You can find the model number under PRIVACY, once you click on View full item details.

    • +1

Thanks all! will keep in mind for next time.

  • +4

Amazing, thanks so much OP 🙌
Just managed to get OW to price beat Digi Direct - called them on 1300 633 423 and was able to get the deal.
Even though my preferred store didn’t have stock, they still placed a Click & Collect order for me.
Might’ve just gotten lucky — the rep I spoke to was a good one.

    • Unfortunately, no luck for me. The rep "Mancy" was a firm no. Can't price match for me due to no stock at any of my local stores in Syd.
It's ok, I don't need it but I would have bought one today if she could price match.

Edit: i should specify my wife wanted the silver. That has no stock.

      • +3

M as in Mancy? Stirling Archer, is that you?

        • Sssssssttttiiiiirrrrlllliiiinnnnnnnnnggggggggg

    • Even though my preferred store didn’t have stock, they still placed a Click & Collect order for me.

How does that work? They just redirected you to pick it up from another store that has stock, or they told you to wait for the stock to come into your preferred store?

      • +1

Even though my preferred store didn’t have in-store availability(it showed no stock), I requested a Click & Collect order so I can pick up the phone at a later date.
Rep said that’s fine and advised it may take 3–5 business days, which I’m okay with. After placing the order yesterday, I received a confirmation text saying it will be ready for pick-up on Tuesday, 27th Jan.
This way, I can avail the OnePass 5x bonus points on the purchase. On top of that, there’s also a 5x Flybuys points Back to School offer for Officeworks in the Flybuys app. So overall, it’s around $93 money back in Flybuys points.

  • +3

Successfully price matched by OW. Got it for $1878

    • -7

      Please provide receipt

      • -4

Not sure why downvotes for a genuine question

    • I thought they beat by 5%

      • +3

        umm they did. $1977.30 * 0.95 = $1878

    iPhone 18 coming soon.

    • +1

The 17 is not even at the halfway mark. Still 8 months to go until the 18pm comes out

    • iPhone 20 is not far away either!

    • +1

Might as well wait for iPhone 20

      • Might as well wait for 21. I hear it'll come with the Album of the same name by Adele. We know people love it when Apple give them free stuff.

  • +1

There website is down at the time of writing.

    • Loading something exciting…

      • Probably cancelling all the sales due to price error.

  • +1

Sigh. Website page is down just as I was getting through to OW

    • Same, shame! :)

      • Got through and bought it with price match.

Didn't realise until I got through that this was for the Pro Max. Got it anyway and now convincing myself why I should get the max over the normal size'd Pro I normally get

  • +3

The website is down so good luck trying to get them to PM

  • +1

Link was working when i showed it to OW rep and then she wasted time trying to find manager and then he came and it was working. Soon as they started processing order on their computer, the link went poof! then they declined to PM citing website issues. should have honoured the first time they checked the link. Ridiculous!

    • +1

      Link is back now

      • a wasted trip and iphone 17 pro max at $1,878. i'll take it :) Thanks OP, much appreciated

    • +2

It worked for me because another OzBargainer and I were holding the line up at Castle Hill, and the manager said, ‘Just honour it.’

    • +6

Well don't neg this deal because the PB isn't the deal itself. You should be voting based on the Digidirect deal.

      • fair enough. My bad, sorry. Though technically the OW pricebeat is even in the title

  • -1

Aren't these phone really bad 😂

    • In what way?

      • +5

He can't afford it. I also say that about things I can't afford so that I don't cry in my sleep.

        • Value for money & locked system that pretends privacy with 1/2 functionality of top phones ;)

          • +1

@taki: What phones are better than the iPhone 17 pro? Incoming Chinese brands that still lose in chip performance, apps, cases and accessories, video recording, warranty support that enables you to swap it for a new device in store any time theres an issue and software updates for 7+ years

  • +1

I was able to get JB to price match this via Chat for instore pickup as there are no Digi Direct stores in South Australia.

  • +1

Successful PB, Thanks OP, and also there is a 5x Flybuys points Back to school offer for Officeworks in flybuys app, activate it before the order and it gives another $47 back in the form of Flybuys points.

    • Same here. Thanks OP!

    • 5x Flybuys points Back to school offer for Officeworks in flybuys app

I wonder if it stacks with the 5x earn rate of OnePass?

edit: Just checked, don't have it in my FlyBuys app

  • I was able to grab one as well over the phone. Pickup tomorrow

  • It blows my mind that a two grand phone can be deemed a bargain! But here we are. If/when they bring out their folding phone, are they likely to charge $2.5k minimum for that? Or more?!

    • +2

The real deal isn’t the $2,000 phone but the substantial price reduction from $2,200 to $1,878. This offers a reasonable discount for anyone wanting a top-tier iPhone.

      • I mean, if you're getting one anyway I guess. Save heaps more just not buying an iPhone 😂

        • -2

This deal (without OW price beat) is roughly 10% off. If so, then it is too close to just get discounted gift cards and buy from Apple.

$2K+ for a phone might seem a lot, but if the phone is used 3 years, at RRP, it is $2 per day roughly. However, it is possible to sell or trade in the iPhone. Assuming worst case, trade in to Apple in 3 years, it is roughly $1.43 per day.

That's why Apple iPhones are ubiquitous here and have larger market share than Android phones. $2 a day in Australia nowadays, what can you really get instead?

          • +1

@netsurfer: That is a very bad way to manage your finances. If you think a dollar a day is nothing and make decisions based on that at the end of the year you’re going to end up with tens of thousands of dollars of things that you have bought only because of the psychology of “ it’s just a dollar a day mate”

    • +3

      Easily closer to 3K!

      • Utterly astounding. I'd put that kind of money on a laptop more likely. I suppose it's a hefty tax write-off if it's for work either way.

        • HUAWEI MateBook Fold ULTIMATE 46cm(18") Mattepaper Touchscreen Laptop OLED 1440Hz Folding (10x iPhones in unfolded laptop ;)

          • @taki: Whoa! I think I might want that even less, now that I've looked it up 😁

      • 2*$2k ;)

    • meanwhile people spend $200 on bars since forever and thats fine

  • I bet the second I get through the website crashes again!

  • +1

JB price matched, now where can I get a discounted JB gift card. The best offer I can access is through Macquire Bank (4% off)

  • +2

Thanks OP! JB price matched via live chat. I have a happy friend! :)

    • Did JB price match at $1878?

      • $1977.30

        • Thanks. Price beat by OW is better

          • @TooSlowAgain: Not if you can get Ultimate gift cards at 10% off—then JB becomes cheaper!

          • @TooSlowAgain: OW won’t price match for me so that was the next best option.

      • They wouldn't, because that's not the price

  • Great deal! Fortunately had no problems PM. The missus gonna be happy and she owe me one 😉

  • Thank you managed to price beat over the phone at Officeworks and got one 🙏

  • Btw anyone notices that prices matching at ow is getting harder and harder

    • You have an anecdote to share?

  • +4

Just picked up one from OW for $1878.
    I love this website

  • Walk to the shop, talk to the staff, join OnePass, pay, wait for few days to send to the shop.

  • Any deal for 17 pro max 512gb?

  • +1

just got rejected for pb by office works, the guy said the item needs to be in stock at the store and he couldnt find anywhere where it stated that store has stock. as soon as i got home i found out if u continue to put thru the online order it shows click and collect at stores where theres stock. so yeah 30 mins wasted

    • i ordered via phone call and they said pick up in a few days due to no stock they just order it

  • did anyone get their iphone 17s from the previous digidirect sale

    • +1

just price match jb and dont waste ur time with this meme company, there websites crashed 84 times

  • Thank you OP! Went to JB yesterday and tried my luck, surprisingly they were able to price match it to Digi + 5% off eGift card corporate discount. A very happy purchase!

Wanted to give OW a go but the stuff wasn't friendly and unable to give an ETA.

  • -1

    price back up

  • I missed it. couldn't match the price

    • TooSlowAgain

      Me too :(

    • Price match Harvey Norman as they give 10% back in gift card.

      • Good tip but did you not see that it's expired?

        • Harvey Norman deal still on. Can price match at jb for never expires guft card

          • @SR9: What deal though? It's $2199 at Harvey Norman and at Digidirect
