they had the same promo months ago, i applied and got the gift card no issue.

re You must deposit $500 AUD or more and complete a trade of any amount.
note: complete meaning buy and sell not just buy, yeah i feel it is misleading/unclear

    • Good feedback, thanks

    • -2

Do you needs to do KYC ?

      • +2

        of course bro…

        • Did you leave the $500 AUD or more in the account the entire time or did you withdraw it after you completed your trade buy/sell?

          • +1

@Brick50: Im using etoro long term i deposited much more never take out yet

    • +2

Out of curiosity, how did you infer that 'complete a trade of any amount' means buy & sale, isn't buy or sale normally considered as separate trades? Or Do they explicitly specify it somewhere?

  • beware they are USD based company so there is a currency conversion hassle you must aware and understand when depositing/withdrawing $$$

    • From the website

Trade in AUD, save on fees. Enjoy 0% conversion fees when investing in Aussie stocks using AUD, and trade thousands of global assets in USD

Can't you just buy and sell ASX stock?

      • hmm not sure about that part, interesting…
what i know, if you deposit AUD straight you got hit by their conversion fees/exchange rate to USD (which can be high)
or you convert yourself and send USD, no fees.

i dont trade au stock so not aware sorry

        • Doesn't this mean you can deposit directly with AUD?

Deposit and withdraw Australian dollars using Fast Bank Transfers for seamless, secure payments, with 0% FX fees.

Maybe they added this option recently?

          • +1

@Aureus: i dont trade au stock so not aware sorry maybe new things, i read something about new feature, AUD wallet so maybe yeah straight deposit AUD but you can only use them to buy au stock? not sure.
what i know is their currency conversion and rate are high / bad

      • I don’t have a etoro account, but I think if you choose share trading it’s aud, may want to check with etoro

    • Where did you get that information?

  • -2

etoro is isreali so I would prefer to boycott and use someone else.

    • +2

Someone else isn't giving you $150 though..

    • damn, had used them over a decade ago and didn't realise this. was about to again for this deal, good lookin' out.

    • +2

Yeah do the bare minimum to make them pay you $150 and then don't use/delete the account, that's how you make them lose!

  • So you deposit 500 AUD, buy some share, then sell it on a loss or profit does not matter, then withdraw all the money. How long do I need to keep the share, I ask because I know eToro has some of the worst spreads and is going to be a sure loss ?
Can I withdraw my money right away ?

    • Just have to complete a trade (buy & sell), no terms that you need to hold it, when you can withdraw the $500, have to get back to you on that

    • samequestion. when could I withdraw the money out

  • Spread fees higher so may be not good long term

But I was using few years so still keeping there even though like Webull has zero fees

    • What's spread fees higher?

  • Can't seem to find a way to switch to AUD. Does depositing USD count as "You must deposit $500 AUD or more and complete a trade of any amount"?

  • i have an etoro uk account, anyone know if i can make a new one with etoro australia or is that a no no

  • -2

    Can I withdraw the $150?
Can I withdraw my initial $500?

    When can I withdraw either?

    • withdrawing the $500, not sure, would hold the funds in etoro acc until eligibility check, but should have more info next week

the $150 is a Visa eGift card & comes to your email from Finder

      • -1

When do we get that $150 visa eGift? Is there a min buy/sell we have to do?

        • minimum trade will be the lowest etoro will allow which looks to be $10

“An eligibility check will be conducted on 7 April 2026 for all Qualifying Transactions.

    • +1
    • Unfortunately just one, either shares or crypto

  • @RogueWolf Please let us know if we're still eligible if we deposit the $500, complete a trade (Buy and sell) then withdraw everything

I can see that others have asked the same question

    • Will do

      • Also if it's the same case for the tiger broker deal.
        Deposit 2k
        Make a purchase
        Sell the stocks
        Withdraw all funds
        Wait for GC

        • Pretty similar, deposit within 7days & make a trade within 20 days, when you can withdraw best to ask finder on live chat

      • +1

Confirming that once the customer has made an eligible trade per the Ts and Cs (see above), then they can withdraw the money back out again and still be considered eligible. @Empharand

The eligibility check will happen on 7 April

eToro are super shifty, I deposited $500 AUD which is automatically converted to USD. When I convert back to AUD to withdraw it my $490 magically becomes $470 after conversion fees.

Also I saved my bank details in there (Local CBA branch), but when I go to withdraw there is random bank account details I have never seen (Sydney based branch) so who knows what the go there is.

    • Yep dont use their own exchange rate they are super shit. So i deposited usd, and if i want to withdraw i will withdraw usd.

Reading through eToro's AU site is an adventure in logic, so apologies for this overly long post. Apparently they offer AU customers the convenience of an AUD Local Currency account (with its own BSB & a/c numbers), that has to be 'applied for' after signup in the eToro app. Separate from the standard base USD Trading Platform account, it doesn't attract the costly automatic fx conversions on deposit. Both Deposits & Withdrawals in AUD to/from the AUD Local Currency account seem to be free so using it may avoid both their standard $5USD Withdrawal fee and the conversion fees+spread being applied (twice) on the total $500 deposit.
However, any trade of any asset, even ASX shares or BTC/AUD crypto makes your money go on a fee/spread sightseeing journey. Click buy on an AUD denominated security, AUD is taken from the AUD Local Currency account, then Converted to USD & transferred to the USD Trading Platform account. Then within the USD Trading platform it is instantly converted back to AUD to purchase said AUD asset. Closing out the position will send the resulting funds through the same journey in reverse…
They try to smooth it over by apparently not charging the standard currency conversion fees for the direct trade, however each AUD based Buy or Sell action would be subject to 2 unnecessary fx spread applications, and there is a fee for transfers between the AUD LC a/c and the Base USD Trading a/c which shouldn't be triggered during an AUD based trade but who knows in practice…
Also, from most reviews eToro are pretty famous for having one of the worst hidden fx spread rates as well.
So a possible amount of 3 sets of fees ontop of their standard brokerage fee, and/or a definite 2x attracting their bad spread on conversions, both ways to close the trade out. There's also a separate fee of 2% to close a Crypto position out directly to AUD.
If the AUD Local Currency account is available (documentation says it's applied for after signup within the eToro app), then best play to get the bonus while losing the least amount of the deposit from the litany of fees you'll be swimming through would probably be to signup through the Finder link, pass through the KYC account opening process, then install the eToro app to open the separate AUD Local Currency account, and use it's details/process to deposit $501 AUD, which should avoid the entire amount being automatically converted/raped in fees.
Minimum trade for US listed Shares/ETFs/Crypto is $10USD. Minimum trade for ASX listed Shares/ETFs seems to be $10AUD. Standard brokerage is $2USD on both US/ASX Shares, while both US/ASX ETFs are free of Brokerage fees. To be safe, find an ASX ETF running around $20AUD buy 1 share. Sell it off the next day to make sure you don't give eToro any extra reasons to deny the bonus… The Crypto option would be buying $20AUD worth of Crypto, which would attract around 4 or 5% in total fees to close out, so about $1.
When selling make sure to select the AUD account to send the funds to otherwise it would go to the default $USD a/c. There is also an effective $10USD monthly fee on accounts that don't get logged into after 12 months, so only keep it open after you get the bonus if you intend to keep using the account actively.

Of course, this all depends on whether the $500+ being deposited into the eToro AUD Local Currency account satisfies the terms of the Finder deal, and an informed response from Finder on both the terms of:
Maintain an 'eligible' eToro account until the reward is fulfilled.
and therefore a definitive answer on the necessary holding duration of the $500 deposit before withdrawals are allowable that doesn't rely on the word 'should'.

    • Signed up over a week ago and still don't see any option in the app or website to get a local AUD account, I haven't deposited anything yet. Maybe it requires a certain time or balance amount first. I have reached out to Toro for help but no response yet.
Anyone managed to get a AUD account yet or see the option to get one?

      • Can't confirm if it works like this myself as haven't signed up yet, but this is what they say on the AUD account guide page. Would hope the option to open it is available as directed on their own website:

        To open an AUD account:
Go to Wallet in the left sidebar of the web platform or at the bottom right in the eToro mobile app.

Choose Open AUD Account and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: Your AUD account may take up to 10 minutes to activate after opening. If your first deposit doesn’t go through, wait a few minutes and try again.

      • Howdy @maccam01. Usually you see the option to create an AUD account as soon as you open the wallet in eToro. Have you verified the account? You may need to do that first to create an AUD wallet. DM us if you are still having issues!

      • Hey just seeing if you got this to work? I am in the same boat - signed up and verified last night, but still not seeing an option to open an AUD account like the guidance suggests should be there.

        • +1

No. Tried to chat to etoro support but only got the AI. Raised a ticket with etoro over a week ago and no response yet. The August 2025 reviews on finder say it is only USD. I just got what appears to be some general etoro spam email below which indicates access to the AUD account is granted after the first deposit which is automatically converted to USD.

          "Ready to start investing?
Depositing AUD into your eToro account is fast, secure, and available through multiple trusted payment methods.

          How to deposit:

Select your preferred method and follow the instructions

@maccam01: Thanks for flagging. We are chatting to eToro to alert them to this and see what the issue could be

            • @findercomau: Is there any update on this? I think we were supposed to deposit within 7 days of signing up for the promo and my time will be up on Sunday.

              • @djkelly69: Sorry for the delay.

We reached out and new first time deposits can't open an AUD account straight away – they must fund their USD account first.

Appreciate this isn't ideal but if customers do a first small deposit in USD and then deposit in AUD to complete the AUD $500 deposit requirement, you are eligible.

eToro can check how much has been deposited in total so whether it is AUD$500 or US$360 (roughly today's $500 AUD is $353 US), that meets the standard.
