You can refund on Greenman, you contact their helpdesk and I did so with the reason that the game was not on my preferred launcher. It went through in less than an hour.

Did you do that after you had redeemed the game on Epic or had you not used it yet?

Did not use the code, didn't even reveal the code after I saw it was for the Ubisoft launcher, not Steam.

I'll always maintain that this still is the best ever videogame ever made. The detail and love that went into this game is just so apparent to me.

It’s art

Agreed you could spend hundreds of hours and miss the finer details or miss that interesting side mission or npc, there is such much content. I would have loved to play this 4k 60fps the first time round.

I'm in the minority to say that this game was not for me. I'm a busy dad with very little game time. The game was just too slow for me, and I unfortunately couldn't invest the time to make it worth my while.
I felt like so much time was wasted just trotting on a horse and auto-talking.

Fair enough, I played it at launch in 2018 so I was younger and fully invested, even had fun with the multiplayer at the time. if you have little game time, maybe get a gaming handheld pc or steam deck where quick suspend is an option might help out.

hate how sluggish the game feels to play. Controls feel very unresponsive and you get locked into an animation whenever you do something. Don't need anything crazy like call of duty movement but at least something more akin to elden ring, or dark souls 3 would make the game feel so much better and less like you're moving through molasses.

Most of the times I just hang out in emerald ranch or somewhere in the mountains. The detailing, sound, colours, its all so soothing. Dont judge me please hahaha

GOAT

Most of the missions in this absolute classic of a game are kind of secondary to the plot. Rockstar somehow made the greatest game ever but still have not managed to steer away from the same style of combat that has been around since GTA3. It can get kind of repetitive and diminishes some of the plot points e.g. depending on what choices you make you could be trying to be a better person and thinking life is precious etc. then you mindlessly gun down wave after wave of NPCs 5 minutes later.
That said some of the missions are absolutely fantastic, the housing building mission is just an absolute joy.
If you want a Fortnight clone this isn’t for you, if you want one of the best narrative experiences made for the medium definitely check this out.
The controls can be fiddly at first (especially on console/with a controller) so stick with it. My first play through I accidentally shot someone instead of replying to a question and I ended up with a massive bounty that I couldn’t afford to pay.

Close to 80 million units sold, that’s how critical and commercially acclaimed it is. Those who are buying it for the first time, it’s a slow burner, treat it like a period piece 19th century to 20th century transition of time, mostly enjoy the ride appreciate every moment.

This is good to know.
I'm on Xbox Series X playing through my first experience of Red Dead Redemption with 60fps and was thinking I'd move onto RDR2 as soon as a 60fps update dropped.
Now I'll ensure that there's no other games on my radar when I do my first playthrough so I'm not rushing it.

The fact this game runs better using emulation (Crossover) on my Mac than on my PS5 Pro as Rockstar have so far not released a 60fps patch on consoles is ridiculous.
I finished RDR1 recently on the Switch 2 edition and went to play RDR2 and just cannot do it with the 30fps on the PS5/Pro.

Fancy that how is Crossover overall on Mac?, there are some non graphically intense windows only games I want to play without having to launch my desktop pc.
On that note of RDR2 30fps on modern tv is sluggish, shame there isn’t even a least 4k60fps HDR on PS5 pro otherwise I would replay it.

Yeah that's Crossover on the mac. It used to be very ordinary, but it's surprisingly pretty good these days.
I have 20 hours on my PS4 save for RDR2 when I originally bought it years ago. It looked awful when I opened it earlier in the week on the OLED & therefore I don't believe I will ever finish it unless they release a 60fps patch. There's just no excuse for 30fps on the PS5.

Forget to mention, yeah wish I could play it on windows 10 desktop pc just won’t launch not matter how many times I tried to install it, runs fine on my steam deck oled lol, but that’s 720p 45 something fps not the way I want to revisit the game.
30fps on OLED especially videogames suck .

You can get 60fps patch if you are jailbroken

Better to get Standard or Ultimate?

when is standard ever better than ultimate?

When $$$ talks

Standard is all you need. Cosmetics and minor multiplayer stuff (which has understandably waned since release).

It's incredible to me that Rockstar made, arguably, one of the best games ever in RDR2 and then instantly abandoned it.. no DLC, no 60fps on PS5 or any kind of optimisation. I played this on a PS4 and although I loved it for what it was the loading times where terrible.

Cheaper than RDR1. Amazing since Rockstar barely touched the original.

Reminds me I should go to Tahiti

The best ever, made me cry in the end 😭

Damn it Dutch when you're gonna make RDR3?, even a DLC will do, but all you talk about is Tahiti

This has been posted at this price from Steam like 5 times already..

Should have bought this instead of the stupid epic launcher via Greenman gaming (with no refund option) fml
