Counting the rungs, it's either a 7 foot (2.1m) step ladder or a 14 foot (4.2m) extension ladder

On the specification table, it says it is a 1.4m - 2.3m stepladder, however the 'stepladder highest standing level min-max' is 0.6 - 1.5m
The 1.5m highest safe standing seems odd to me and defeats the purpose of having a 2.3m stepladder? My 1.7m step ladder has a 1.4m safe standing height.
The Velocity Ladder is available in 13, 17, 22, and 26-foot sizes.

I believe the Megamax is the Velocity with some extra bits and pieces. You'll find the specifications at that link above.
The pic from @moneyprinter-brr says the MegaMax Model 17 is 14.5kg, but the brochure for the Velocity says Model 17 is 19kg - that's a big difference if they are similar models?
No idea why there is an inconsistency between the website and label - though if you search for previous ozb posts on Costco Little Giant the other posters mention Velocity 17. Length measurements seem about right, just going off the stored height (1.4m)

Had one for a few years. Works well
I picked one up from a previous OZB post. While it hasn't had a lot of use, being able to use it in multiple configurations is a bonus. The most recent use was on a slope and being able to securely extend each side to different lengths provided a stable work area. It's not lightest, but the wheels help on the right surface.

No box, just comes in its folded non-extended form with a cardboard sleeve label and plastic for the work platform like in this pic.
The label has that form as 1.4m, I took it home in my Mazda 3 with the rear seat folded down and it didn't hit the front seats
@moneyprinter-brr: Thanks, got one today, easy fit with the middle rear seat dropped, good quality, although I only used it 2 minutes to test
I also was able to fit mine across the back seat of the Camry without it damaging the interior.
Just used a bit of padding by way of blankets at each end so the friction didn't cause an issue.

The bailey 4-step is what I've been eyeing and what I see a lot of businesses and homeowners have.
My use case is changing smoke alarm/down lights so highest I'll need to reach is my 9 foot ceiling which the little giant is overkill for. It is good if you need to go up on the roof/reach higher grounds.
Think of what you'll need the ladder for, then measure the distance you'll need to reach it. In most cases, you will want to make sure you're not stepping on the highest rung so buy accordingly.
For general use around the home, consider one of the work platforms that extends. Not only useful for reaching the odd light, but for painting where its safer than the reaching you will do to avoid moving a typical ladder.
For typical homeowner use? Like clearing gutters, getting balls off the roof etc.?
If you live in an older house - e.g. Federation, that won't be sufficient. High ceilings need e.g. 4 fold ladder. Also to clean gutters, get on roof if necessary.
It's a great ladder, its quite tall and feels very sturdy and the locks all seem strong.
The main negative I see in many reviews are it is heavy, but to be honest I find that comforting in a ladder and being heavy only really impacts you if you keep it on the roof of a van etc.

That said you can also get a removalist trolley and use that to move the ladder.

I have this one, and I sold my previous Bailey extension ladder from Bunnings as soon as I used this one for my garden job.

These are good for multi-purpose ladders around the home - they are heavy though and too heavy for day to day use if you're a tradie climbing up and down everyday.
I split mine up into 4 ladders - 2 smaller ones and a larger folding one.
I never use the platform but I can see how that might be useful.
"Waste of Time" is probably why it's been downvoted.
Most home owners don't use a ladder every day, and don't have the space or need to have 3 different ladders for different uses.
This ladder is heavy, but if you're pulling it out once every few months to perhaps clean the gutters, or fix a broken tile etc. - it does the job. It's a decent all in one option.
In summary, it's not a waste of time for a weekend warrior with occasional use cases - but if you're going to be using it all the time, get a lighter, purpose specific one.
I agree and disagree - most of us DON'T use them every day. This is a good option for the once a quarter users. But agree that if you use one regularly, this aint it.
These are meant for DIY dads more than tradies id say, Heavy yes but has wheels which help, Have had it for a few years and have used it to change lights in 3 m ceilings , clean gutters, install cameras, put christmas lights , even chop down branches . Not a ladder that you would want to lift and stash on top of a van or ute . A plus for being heavy is that its comfortingly sturdy , comes with a platform which is handy.

Think so, mighnt be the safest rung tho , depending on your height might want to go one down , I use it more as a table sort of thing for tools and screws .
Great ladder, paid same price (2 cents less) in 2018 when it was on sale. So same price 8 years later is a good deal.

I have a heavy ladder and it's pretty dangerous to open up fully and lean up a two storey house. The sheer top heavy weight means it can topple in the process. Even folding into an A frame is tricky. Mine folds into quarters and all the combos in between.
Moved into a 2 storey place, disnt realize ladders were so expensive.
Any concerns or things to look out for if i do buy used.
Great ladder but definitely on the heavy side, it’s awkward to move around indoors due to its weight. Would be worth having a lighter step ladder for indoors and keeping this one for outdoor jobs.

14.5kg on the specs, when folded up you can navigate carefully through doorways but it’s a workout.
Just went and tested at Costco. Very heafty.

I'm gonna spit ball here and say it's ladder weight VS total package weight including the work platform that's included in the pack.
The packaging is literally just cardboard and a plastic bag so can’t imagine it’s 1kg on its own. It sounds like there’s lighter ladders out there, I just fully extended it to clear the gutters and found it a little precarious but also manageable. The lockers are very easy to use and it’s definitely much more usable as a step ladder especially if you’re a smaller person. Carrying it around is fine when collapsed but feels all of 15kgs for sure

I assume the 2.29m is from bottom to top when in stepladder mode - are you able to please measure the floor to highest 'safe' step height in this mode?

Bought one a few months back for $369 from costco. Has been super handy around the new house for DIY stuff. Just be mindful its a bit bulky and heavy but makes up for it in versatility.
With the return policy you could return the current one for a refund then buy it at the cheaper rate. Just sayin’. Also if you bought it less than 30 days ago you can get the difference in price refunded.

No probs. Just a thought. If you do decide to go this path then return the old one first and then buy the new. Otherwise they take the lowest price as the return.
@try2bhelpful: Does the return of the old one get you the full amount you paid back? Then buy at $269 and pocket the $100?
@Pelilah: That has been our experience. You take in the old one and tell them you don’t want it anymore and get your refund, then you walk in and buy the new one at the discount rate. The only quibble is it can take a few days for the refund to come through. If they were sensible they would just allow the difference for longer than 30 days and then they wouldn’t get stuck with second hand stuff.
Looks like the a frame config is about 2.1m tall. Is there a larger model (model 22 or taller) with a taller a frame height on sale?

I bought the Little Giant Leveler instead even though it is much more expensive. I can adjust the legs when the ground isn’t level. Very good to work in my garden. Feel much safer.
