been looking at cordless hammer drills, was about to pull the trigger on the Ozito non brushless one last week but saw this Bosch brushless one was down to $119. No idea how good it is as I'm not a big power tool user, really just needed this to drill a few holes in brick. Considering the Ozito brushless is about $149 at Bunnings, this seems like a good deal?

60nm is pretty weak for a Hammer drill, and also doesn’t advertise the ipm. I’d rather get the ozito so you can buy other cheap skins to use with the battery. Or find a ryobi one cause that’s even better

    • why ryobi better?

    • Fwiw ozito brushless is 60nm too.

      • The $149 ozito is 120nm

  • agree i have similar not sure same nm or not but yeah its weak, just ok for putting ikea stuffs together

set to hammer mode of course

      • which one is that? there is a rotating switch with number 1 to 10

        • there should be a second ring next to that one with a drill and hammer mode.

I have one and it's fine for everyday DIY use but for drilling into masonary forget it.

    • just curious, is this even when set to the hammer mode and using a decent masonry drill bit?

      • lol
bits doesn't matter much when using these type of drill
for serious drilling (concrete /brick) get a sds drill
I have a dewalt 805 hammer drill with ryobi bit. not the best but at least equal to this deal one. and it's like a useless husband in front of the ordinary bricks.

        • yeh fair enough, I just wanted to see if i can get away with this drill as 99% of it's use will be DIY use. the 1% is 4 holes i need to drill into brick to mount a hose reel. I don't know what I'd do with a SDS drill beyond drilling those 4 holes.

          • @pyramidpirl0: maybe try drill into the mortar instead of the bricks themselves? hammer drill works great on those in hammer mode hahaha

      • yes, hammer mode and masonry bit is used for drilling into masonry and brick work…

that's a shame, might have to return this if it can't make a dent into the brick.

          • @pyramidpirl0: If you only need a couple of small holes in your brickwork it will do it - as long as the holes are only a couple of mils wide and you use a good quality masonary bit but even then it will take an effort. Better is you can borrow either a Bosch blue (Pro grade) drill or equivalent or better still an SDS masonary drill as suggested earlier.

            • @jvdv001: thanks for the advice. I am going to see if I can borrow a SDS drill off someone if this doesn't do the job.

Save a bit more and get this kit

Can't see any model details (looks like the 18V60C drill, 18V200C impact, pair of 3ah batteries, USB adapter, charger and bits) on the tools in the kit but Bosch blue is far far superior to the green series. Even if they were the same quality, it's worth it just for the pair of tools and batteries rather than just the drill and single battery

  • I just recently bought the Ozito 120nm brushless hammer drill (the PXBHS-120). I can say since using it for various home jobs, that on the low gear and the clutch locked up, it's got enough torque to break your wrist, even on a small 2Ah battery pack !
If you want to drill brick this might be a good choice.
It also has a LOT of torque at very low trigger (rpm), which I really like compared to my previous Metabo brushed drill.
