There’s reviews on Amazon, but I don’t trust them. Most are an ‘Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product’

A few negative reviews from non-free purchases.

      • +2

        Agree, reviews seems suss!

      • +4

Vine reviews should be completely ignored.

      • -1

90% of Amazon reivews are bots or commertially acquired. You can buy 1000 reviews for example for a price. Or even more. They appear verified also. Multiple techniques to do this.

    • +4

its amazon. use it for 30 days, if it sux or blows, return it

      • Then you're busy, lazy, and forgot … it

Can’t have it all mate :)

I couldn't get the app pairing to work either. It never started advertising its Wi-Fi hotspot and the bluetooth quick pairing detected it but times out when trying to configure it. Power consumption on levels 1 - 4 is <4W, turbo mode is ~15.5W. Level 2 seems to be quieter than level 1 due to reduced motor whine.

Not sure if I'll keep this one but the air circulator design is quieter, more convenient and much more effective than my tower fan for home office use.

        • +2

Bluetooth pairing worked when I tried it again, no change in process but had left it running for a few hours before attempting. It connected to a to a mixed 2.4/5Ghz network and has a Tuya MAC address. Came with firmware V2.7.7 and updated to V3.1.69 without issue.
Android app is fine, doesn't seem to have any features not on the remote control.
Linking to Google Home also worked, it can set the fan speed.

    • Not a fan!

  • +3

I'm a bit wary of a fan I can't find motor specs on.

    • -2

      It has a loud whine.

  • +4

    FANtastic deals this morning hamza

    • Sounds like you were blown away?

    • +1

You could have at least tried to match a product of similar style

  • I have the desk air and really happy with it. I sleep with a fan so get a lot use and have used many over the last 30 years and this definitely does the job.

A few tower fans have been slightly better but it is in the top performer group.

      • +3

Noise levels are key. And regardless what the specifications say, noise can be very different in the real world (they will likely state air noise only, whereas some components can clank or rub making it much worse. For example my first two Xiaomi fans are great, but two of the same models produced years later are noisy)

    • How big is it? It's hard to get a sense of scale with the photos they have.

      Isn't that an AC fan?

      • I presume without motor specs and at this price that this one in the deal is also AC?

        • +1

          In the description it mentions

The EcoSmart Air Circulator is equipped with a DC brushless motor

        • Says "DC energy saving motor" in one of the pictures.

  • +6

Don't tell me there are actual people out there that have an app for their fan

    • +37

I use an app called Only Fans

      • oooft im in

      • -1

Can the fan also fap for me ?

        • +2

sht man, username def checks out

It's would be useful for scheduling. And this is an air circulator so the idea would be to schedule it when you're out of the house when the room gets hot.

      • This, with home assistant (assuming it can integrate with home assistant). Ideally set it up to turn itself on during warm days when I'm at home and it's a warm day.

        • +1

It's tuya based like my Breville fan so it should work. Good for those into plants too for air circulation.

    • I've been looking for a smart fan for awhile.

      Bathroom have bad ventilation.

Fan is sitting on top of the dryer & washer combo.

Can't use remote as it is blocked.

Have to climb the ladder to turn it on & off. It does take a few hours to dry the bathroom so handle if I'm already in bed and can turn it off remotely.

Doesn't seem like the app on this one work either.

Got my $19 Kmart fan that does the job 😌

Check out rechargeable telescopic fan from Kmart https://www.kmart.com.au/product/rechargeable-telescopic-fan…

Is it just a 6ft man wearing a fan costume waving his arms at you

      • +1

Gonna get one of these as a bench press. Cheers

        • How about getting a GF, which has many uses after a bench press?

          • @mynameisborat: Had one but it broke which is why I need a bench press.
            The process repeats itself

Not dc motor, no remote, no scheduling options, does not oscillate. Not really the same is it

      • Power source: 5V DC 2A, 5W

Does this not mean it would be a DC motor? I'm not up on electrical stuff, genuine question.

    • Whats the airflow like?

I see it can be used while charging - easy enough to open it up and take out the battery, keep it on a charger as to avoid any battery issues.

      • I just carry it around like a bigger portable USB fan to circulate air. It’s less than 1kg.

Battery is built in so if it dies, you’ll have to throw it out.

Airflow probably wouldn’t be as good as the $61.70 fan. But $19 fan does the job for me.

    • I purchased that, absolute junk, the battery doesn't last and also the fan is very weak even at top level, it's essentially a toy

  • I like that the black one is 60% off but the Grey one is not on special and the same price.

    Good old amazon!

    • And if you go incognito or log out, you see something different again.

  • Can anyone recommend a good battery powered fan suitable for camping?

Seems to have been heavily promoted via sponsored reviews, seems like decent value at the sale price though.

  • How good is this product from directing air from one room to another, as we only have a split in our bed room and want to send cool air to the next room.

    • +1

Not sure about this one but my Vornado AC fan can do that.

  • The coupons have been all claimed and the price remains the same.

My order got prepared instantly hence I can't adjust it like other orders.

  • Doubles as a project manager.

    fan for ants

bought the larger one, returned for a refund, too noisy, its very small and doesnt move much air,

  • +1

    App sucks

My viomi fans rock after 3 years of use, solid app

  • Is this a tuya based device? I only care about its ability to function through Home Assistant and Homebridge/Homekit. They really need to start releasing Matter fans. I saw a few reviews say it loses WiFi connectivity after power is lost. Ordered one but its going back if it does.

  • Just received mine.

I'll be returning due to noise.

It's got a nice design, good controls, pushes enough air, but there's a really loud motor hum even at lowest speeds - definitely not something I'd use for bedroom whilst sleeping.

I've got a Xiaomi viomi fan (~$50) that appears to be discontinued and that blows this thing out of the water in performance and noise.

    • Same. It's terrible. There's a feature on it that simulates a natural breeze by spinning the fan up and down. Completely useless because all you hear is a loud whirring.
