12V (50A) and 24V (25A) is the highest battery charger I've ever seen! I imagine anyone buying this would be charging truck batteries and specialised 24V systems?

      LiFePo4

    • theres kickass 50a from memory.

Noco is bigger and more renowned

I think you'd be boiling any truck lead acid battery at that charge rate….. would be OK for a big 12V lead acid battery bank….. if anyone had such a dinosaur thing.

I'm scratching my head at the value/ benefits of this… It's not powerful enough to be a vehicle jump starter plugged into the house supply, and far more powerful than I can imagine any lead acid battery bank …..

A few years back I bought a massive 24V/12V battery charger/ jump starter thing from sydney tools- a box/daytona alleged 600A charger/starter. After a nightmare experience from sydney tools who didn't take full responsibility for selling me a device that hadn't been assembled/connected completely in the factory, it eventually was useable for jump starting, putting out about 150A @ 12V - giving about 1.8KW to a starter motor… but 50A won't reliably cut it…more likely to fry the battery charger.

It could be useful for charging a number of lithium LiFePO4 batteries in a battery bank, but generally if someone has such a battery bank it's already got a charger sorted (usually a solar charger).

Had horrible experiences myself at Sydney tools. Not shopping there

    • My 15A victron charger can be switched to power supply mode which can be very handy. If this is the same, i could see a lot of people having a use for a 12v 50a power supply.

  • I think that charging rate is not only for just charging but for also for diagnosing when your car/truck needs to be on full load sometimes.

Good for charging my 1,000's of Eneloops….. all at once.

    • Maybe just get the 25A and only charge 500 at once!! :D

    • +1

For $586 you probably needs to recharge 10,000 Eneloops in order to recoup the money back.

Really niche, 24V probably for truckies?

For the rest of us with LiFePo4 and lead-acid batteries, a Victron 25 amp charger for $170.34 should suffice…

    • Having bluetooth on victron gives more info than idiot lights on other charger give them the edge. That amazon deal should be thread in its own

  • What are you going to use a 50A charger for? I have the Genius10 and that is already overkill for car batteries. The Genius5 is probably best suited for passenger vehicles.
