But no those pesky credit card surcharge.

I am currently using its poorer cousin RAX70 which doesn't provide 2.5Gbps port and it has been excellent especially the reach. My outdoor camera which previously couldn't sustain connection with my older router and now it works with this. I can only imagine this model would be even better but at more affordable pricing (<$300 so fully tax deductible if you're eligible).

With NBN can now reach 2Gbps download, having this is starting to make sense.

Since most of y'all are IT experts, I don't think I need to elaborate the tech spec stuff.

Hopefully this helps since it's been a while since I posted deals.

Regards

Zz

    AU10 works

    • Even better. $242.10 now!

      • 242.10 is a bargain

How much ARC alloy can I get for shooting this down

    • -1

      20 medium bullets

  • Or 1gb wan? Doesn't make a heap sense to have only a single 2.5gb lan port, and only a 1 GB wan? Can't reach full 2gb speed? Unless you've missed something?

I mean sure for a file server on your lan or nas etc… so you can reach full speed on a couple of devices… But it's use is somewhat limited?

Not a bad price though, so good for a standard router.

Only one 2.5G means no wired backhaul between nodes. Weird miss.

    • Is that a good thing or bad thing? Lol. Having at least 1 2.5G means at least my new NBN 2000/200 should work (even on Cat5e). Its poorer cousin could only do 1G

      • Well, do you connect to your router purely via wifi and do you have a home that only one node needs to be used? Then OK, this will give you peak performance for your use case.

But if you need multiple routers/mesh nodes, those are always better connected to each other via ethernet. And if you are needing those speeds then also you're probably best connecting your PC directly to the/a router via ethernet. In those cases 1x2.5G, only for WAN, is useless. You can't even add a switch.

        • Oh I see what you mean. My work computer is currently connected via ethernet (wall from RAX70, wall out into PC) and a few others too but others are using WIFI (like SmartTV, indoor cameras, etc).

I was hoping this router could give me 2000mbps to my PC. Looks like I'd have to read the manual closer now that I've bought it lol!!!!

  • Apart from being tri-band, are there any benefits to the RAXE3000 over the dual-band WiFi 7 RS150?

  • After sales support for Netgear is pathetic, even if the device is under warranty, support would persist to buy a techbplan to troubleshoot to even check if the device is faulty. Would never buy or recommend any netgear products again.
Not sure if the service has got any better now.

  • What's OzBargain's recommendation on a good router these days? 500/50 and PS5 online gaming.

    • If you're technical and love to tinker.

Proxmox with Pf sense on a micro PC - for any other VM you might need. (Mail server, dedicated (gaming) servers)

Costs about the same and a billion times stronger.

If you don't know what cg-nat is, don't bother.

    • This one would be good.

As a standard user, this is a solid option.

  • Damn, just sold out while I had one carted.
