Best Cordless Stick Vacuum for Carpet

Hi all, currently on the hunt to replace my 5 year old Dreame cordless.

The house has mainly hard carpets with limited tiles. Am looking for one that's good for picking up long human hair with anti-tangle tech, decent battery life and trigger lock (one press and it continuously operates). Bonus if it has extra attachments.

Heard some good things on Shark PowerDetect. Wouldn't mind a Dyson if it really works for our situation.

Ideally under $600.

Any recommendation would be much appreciated!

  • It would be Dyson V10, look at the past deals for the popularity, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/dyson-v10-absolute

  • I bought a Dreame Z20 and really like it, the docking station is very useful. Have had no problems with long hair getting tangled (missus has very long hair). Mix of hard floors and rugs at home.

I came from a cheap Xiaomi G10 before that though, so it's not surprising I'm impressed by the Z20.

    • The z20 looks great. It appears to be on special at $587. Is that a good deal?

  • Had a Dyson and would never buy one every again,
Went the Shark PowerDetect + cleaning system and think its great. Excellent suction on carpets for our 3 bedrooms and the rest of the house is hybrid flooring and tiles in the bathroom.
battery lasts ages and the self empy on the dock is great. No dust going everywhere when attempting to empty.

Picked mine up mid Jan, i think The Good Guys had it on special plus a $70 off code at the time. Ended up paying $548.00
It Not sure how close you will get to your $600 budget, but appliace central have the powerdetect+cleanining system for $688 if you desperate, otherwise just keep an eye out

  • I prefer Miele HX2 to Dyson because it's freestanding and offers a lower centre of gravity. But I do rate Dyson anti-tangle. For periodic deep carpet cleaning I own and recommend low-cost pre-owned Kirby upright.

  • Dyson, but we found the battery has limited oomph and duration. We ordered a battery converter from Aliexpress and use our Ozito garden tool batteries rather than the Dyson battery. Converters also available for Ryobi, Makita etc

  • What's wrong with a traditional vacuum cleaner , suction power would be better in most cases ⁉️ Not trendy enough ❓
