I checked the link, this festival doesn't go anywhere near Fiji!

Hi, this is in Nepal, not Fiji. The festival name is Tiji, which is a very exclusive mask dancing festival that happens in the place of its origin, ie is Tibet. The Mustang district in the trans-Himalayan region of Nepal used to be a southernmost kingdom of medieval Tibet. It survived the cultural revolution that Tibet went through, as Mustang's political status belonged to Nepal.
The tour is special for those who love nature, Tibetan culture, and Buddhism / Bon.

guides in nepal are really cheap. when i was there in 2022 you could get a guide for around 2000npr or a porter for 1000npr a day. at the time it was probably $23 for the guide and $11.50 for a porter.

Tourism in Nepal has been a victim of continuous political instability. The country's major income is from remittance not tourism. Tourism is seasonal and employees are like part-time job holders. In such, I request all travelers to follow the minimum wage guidelines floated by the government and guide/ porter respective unions. Make sure that their insurance and equipment are covered. Trekking staff are more vulnerable than clients because of a lack of equipment, insurances and evacuations. We expect all to support sustainable tourism, which enhances local families (teahouse), staff (guide/porter), environment, and culture.
      Thank You for your support.

      • that's exactly what you're going to pay them so don't talk a big game

🙏 Thanks for your commitment to sustainable tourism.

  • Western Nepal is a gem, Eastern Nepal is overdone and full of greed these days. Just my two cents.
