When most here got this for $29 a while ago, $74 will be just a very normal price

Untrue - I have mine in my garage and the second in my FIL's.

@probablynotlauren: I must be thinking of a different deal:

MessMaster Wet/Dry Vacuum offer advertised 21/12/2025 revealed a technical issue that has impacted some customer orders and caused an incorrect discount to be applied outside the advertised offer of the promotion.

Unfortunately, we’ve identified your order as one of those impacted by this error.

We will cancel and immediately refund the full payment back to the original form of payment.

I have received the $29 vaccum cleaner with $20 gift card after a few days.

          Not true.

      • Can you not use the search function?

I got it for 29$. It was the real deal.

      • I got it too.

  • For people who bought this, is this any good? Looking as using it for my 4wd for sand/mud

    • I too am looking for something to easily vacuum the car. Worried the hose is too short

    • So far so good - able to ditch my Pullman janitor for it. Space wise it's a great saving and it seems fine for every day use. Used it a could of times for kitty litter, mud and dirt.

    • It's been really good. Powerful suction albeit hose is short.
I've been using it to suck up water from a leaking roof, super happy with the job it does.

    • Works a treat for our dog car - picks up hair and sand no worries.

It's really powerful (and loud). I am very happy with it and would recommend it. As others said the hose is a bit short, but it's light enough to be help while vacuuming. Also the tips have rubber on them, so they don't scratch the car interior.

Like the others say, the hose is too short, and it is pretty loud — but it does work good, and it's easy to clean because everything simply unclips. It is also a good size for carrying and storing (it fits at the bottom of my linen cupboard).

    • just bought one. I'd agree. The hose is deliberately short. You carry it like a suitcase and the nozzle in the other. This is different to most stop-vacs you have it roll behind you and fall over/bang into things.

Noise isnt a concern with me, i always wear hearing protection when doing vacuuming/pressure washing etc.

it's a wet and dry vac so not a replacement for a house vacuum.

      I like it tbh.

  • Very good and well worth it. Super strong suction and very easy to use, well built too

  • It says portable? So not corded?

    • It is mains powered, so corded.

          Boo who?

          • +2

@Gaz1: Boo. Portable but strings attached.

          • @Gaz1: Boo-urns?

  • Great vacuum for the car

    Thanks O.P., got one.

  • Good Car Vac

  • It was $29 last month from the same seller. Hopefully they can repeat the deal.

  • Finally whipped mine out ($29 purchase) for the first time to do the car.

Sucks very well! Hose a bit short manageable.

    Happy with the purchase.

In some ways it's unfortunate that $29 happened, because anytime a half decent sale comes around now, it's going to be compared to that insane anomaly of a price. It could go on sale for $29.95, and people would be like "IT'S NOT A BARGAIN UNLESS IT'S LESS THAN $29".

ATL is always the best indicator, at least for myself.

      I guess I'd bite for $50…

    • It's not 😂

      …just playing yah! Aye 95c gets you a large coffee - https://youtu.be/MEb_epsuLqA

  • I bought this at $29 with $10 delivery. It's not worth any more than that. It's 'portable' but it weighs as much if not more than a regular vacuum cleaner, just not as powerful as a Miele for example.

I can see it being useful for a cleaning up a spill.

Is this any better than the 1250W Ozito wet / dry shop vac at Bunnings for $49?
    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-1250w-12l-stainless-wet-an…

    • i've had the ozito before, it's fine. Although the plastic handle made me angry. I ended up taping so it wouldnt fall apart so easy. It's on wheels so it follows behind you until it gets stuck on the smallest rock, then you yank it and it falls over.

This is a bit different where you carry it with one hand, and the nozzle in the other.

Remember shop vacs are not a replacement for an actual house vacuum. Fine dust will just shoot into the air through the motor. The ozito did anyway.

IMO if you've got the space, buy the ozito. The container itself is significantly bigger.

    • The ozito makes a very powerful blower, that's another handy thing about it. Plus uses generic bags. IDK about this one - if I didn't have the Ozito, I'd get this

Friend with his dog came over for dinner, dog did a sht on our carpet. After him cleaning up his dog’s sht, we pumped a sht load of Pink Stuff carpet cleaner and used this vac to suck the sht up. $29 + $12 delivery from the other deal, well spent. Without this vac, wasn’t sure what we’d do!

    • Are you still friends with the guy?

      • +5

Only after we ate his dog for dinner 🫣

        • Glad you didn’t have to clean the shit after gutting.

    • +1

A heart warming story no doubt.

Portable usually means battery powered. This is not battery powered.

    • I agree

    • -1

Not every company has the expertise to come up with their own battery and charging system. And not at this price for a strong vacuum anyways

  • Thanks ordered one. Should have had this long time ago when my dog used to shit all over the floor.

  • +1

Every time i see one of these, it reminds me of one of the all-time ozb deals I didn’t buy. Thanks for the emotional damage

  • +1

Can't vouch for this one but as a Bissell owner, these types of vacuums pay for themselves very quickly. If you're renting, you can now spill an entire glass of red wine on the carpet (as I have) and it's not an issue. Pet vomit on the rug? Not an issue. Stain on the new couch? Gone. Definitely worth having one in the garage or laundry for the few times a year you need it.

    • Just bought one for literally this. Need to get my air con serviced for built up condensation but the most likely fix is the suck out a blockage from the drain. I am going to try this first and its cheaper than the service call.

  • Not worth it at 79

  • Got it yesterday. It's okay for $74. My biggest gripe with it is that the hose is way too short but it's got decent suction.
