      $3.96

    • This one is apparently better

    • +11

      Your one
      water, ammonia (<10%), and 2-butoxyethanol (<5%)

      This one
      Water >60%: Alcohols (Methanol or Ethanol):Alcohol <5%, Glutaraldehyde <0.01%

The answer is the Methanol does do a better job IMHO and some cars wiper designed recommend against the non-alcohol based types to prevent clogging in them (Tesla for example)

Ive used them both and IMHO the Bosch one does leave a better clean after the wipers.

    Any specials on blinker fluid?

    • +1

No only see premium tyre air nowadays, been waiting as well

      • +1

Just curious is nitrogen better than normal air

        • +4

Paying $50 for a nitrogen fill up is far more economical than paying $50 for a normal air fill up as nitrogen lasts a bit longer

        • +2

Normal air is about 78 percent nitrogen already. Snake oil.

        • +3

Helium is better. Makes the car lighter and faster.

          • @Cheap Gamer: I prefer hydrogen for the extra "boom" when needed

    • +2

Forgot to check after getting a box of sparks for my spark plugs.

I like this stuff…but bars bugs is superior.

    • Thanks. Then ill get Bars bugs instead.

Effective windshield cleaner: Reliably removes bugs and road grime on your car's windscreen

Last time I saw smashed bugs on my windshield was like 2004

    • +12

Obviously never travelled interstate between cities in summer at night lol

      • I always used to get a few when driving during the day even, just from Syd to Canberra. These days I don't think I even see one.

    • +1

Must be because of all the 5g they installed a couple of years ago

    • -1

We’re killing everything with insecticide but the joke’s on us. Our gut bugs don’t function as they should and the high incidence of cancer, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s is probably linked.

      End of rant

  • +9

If you want 10x the amount for only 4x the price, you can get 5l on eBay for just over $36 - https://ebay.us/m/m8v8cj

Can you use this for Tesla Model Y?

    • Also keen to know. Googled it and couldn’t find a direct answer

      • +30

        It is compatible with glass.

        • +3

Yes, it even works on electric glass, amazing stuff!

        • I don’t think Tesla uses glass, more some type of out of this world see through material.

      • +2

        Jesus Christ

        • +4

I don't think he can even help.

    • +1

Yes, I have been using it for my MY with no issues.

      • What ratio you mix with this

        • +2

Hmmm I didn’t pay attention too much to calculate the ratio. I just pour 1/10 - 3/10 of bottle, mix with water in an old brita water jug, dump in the washer reservoir, and keep fill water after until full. 1/10 - 3/10 is mainly due to “I think it’s enough, ohhh let’s add a bit more”. Been doing like this with this product for my Tesla and another car many years, no problem at all.

          • +1

@AussieGargain: Same as I do on my Model Y, the window cleans well -that is 50% of the 2 yearly service done :)

    • I hope you are joking…

  • $7.30 from Rolan if you are ordering other stuff add it on if you want it…

  • +1

The best ever windshield stuff is the factory VW mix. There’s one made for icy temps (it’s not that one!) it’s the other one they have. Smells exactly like the one when you buy a brand new BMW. Then you can never locate it again. When you clean the windshield, as you notice the streak free crystal before your eyes, what follows next, the scent of forest with divinity of water from Lake Minnetonka.

That smell is to die for. All the BMWs guys didn’t know where to get it, but VW makes it. It’s like $20 for a 1L.mixes with the 4/5L reservoir But it’s worth it.

    • +1

I agree, ive been chasing something as good as the VW mix but haven't found it yet.

    • +1

The VW stuff is mediocre at best, smells exactly like one of the Ambi Pur little square air fresheners. Nowhere near as effective as other fluids with additives because it won't damage their fragile pumps.

I'm not opening the window to smell my car when I'm using the wipers. I want my washer fluid to clean my window without damaging wiper blades. The Lexus OEM one lubricates the rubber blades too. Works extremely well with the Bosch Aerotein blades.

      • You definitely don’t need to open the windows to smell. I never have anyway. It literally just flows the through car.. it’s amazing. Must do it once in your car owning life.

    • A great simulation of the VW / Audi experience is to use Autosol Scheibenreiniger Konzentrat 1:100 (orange squeeze bottle). Clean windscreen with notes of juniper (or gin).

    • +2

The stuff you’ve linked is pre-mixed - not concentrate.

This Bosch concentrate will make the same amount for almost half the price.

      • But actually not a bad deal considering that demineralized water costs $10 for 5 liters

  • -1

Can anyone confirm if it actually reduces headlight glare?

    • +1

Not in the way you might hope. It won't reduce the direct glare from modern LED headlights, rather reduce the amplification of glare due to the scattering of light from smudges and streaks on your windscreen.

I passed on the Bosch washer fluid and ended up ordering 5L of Trico brand concentrate $21.90 makes 100L.

      • +1

Will 100L last you 5 decades?

        • +2

I won't last 5 decades, so I guess I'll pass the bottle down to my nephew when I'm expired.

  • +1

Whats the ideal ratio here? I used it but it seems the ratio isnt right as it left streaks on my windscreen.. adding more water but the same thing. Maybe needed more water to dilute it even more but not sure what ratio to use..

  • Haven't finished the last one yet lol

  • What a load of Bosch. Just use water and a little vinegar.

    • Or free from the dealer if you ask nicely 😉

  • Does this leave the water spot marks after use, like Bar Bugs?

  • Two bottles of 600ml Bars Bugs at Repco for $6.00 https://www.repco.com.au/car-care-panel/car-care/windscreen-…

  • Some Bosch Cabin filters on Amazon are cheaper than at Super Cheap
