[NSW, ACT, QLD, WA, NT] Apple iPhone 13 128GB (Starlight) $727 + Delivery ($0 to Metro/ OnePass/ C&C/ in-Store) @ Officeworks

42

New iPhone 13 128GB For $727 at Officeworks.

Low price to enter the Apple ecosystem. Still a very capable phone.

Different colours available, but only Starlight is currently $727 and in stock. Not available in-store nor online in VIC, SA and TAS.

Why get a crappy “refurb” with a battery that needs changing and who knows what repairs have been done to it with non OEM parts.

Ooft. This is a fair few generations old…plus pretty expensive. Would think this should be about $4-$500 max now.

Yeah pretty hard to get excited for a 5 year old phone at this price..

    • Yeah but it's apple so people still pay the premium and are happy to.

  • +5

    What I paid for a 16e.

  • +2

Just get a 17 and be done with it.

    • +2

Absolutely but it is literally twice the price.

      • +2

Twice the updates , actually a lot more than that 💯

      • And twice the storage - that iPhone 17 is 256GB.
OfficeWorks has the iPhone 13 256GB listed at $944
If it is actually available, that is.

I’d think a 16e would be a good option. $999 retail, but wait for woolies or Cole’s to have bonus rewards and stock up on gift cards for effectively 10% off via Apple.

      Otherwise Costco is $949.

      • +1

Recently the 16e were $799 at JB and Officeworks

        • +1

16e was $699 at Costco late last year.

        • Even better.

I think that models a pretty good value proposition really for those that don’t have requirements for the latest camera or whatever, especially if you want to be in the Apple ecosystem.

Having the same 8GB RAM as the 15 Pro could give it legs too when it comes to how long it gets updated, compared to the non-pro 15’s or anything earlier with their 6GB. In fact on that spec point, which seems pretty important to where a model sits support wise, it’s equal to base iPhone 17. So should have plenty of life in that one.

  • Still a very capable phone.

  • Google says it is only expected to receive full iOS support and software updates until 2026.
Surely not true if it costs over $700?

    • +1

Google Gemini told me “The iPhone 13 is expected to receive major iOS updates until at least 2027 or 2028.”

Apple just provided an iOS update to the iPhone 8 running iOS 16

      • I guess AI is more accurate than a 'dumb' search.
I hope for anyone buying this you're right.

I wish Apple would release one more update for my iPod Touch so that it will run the Find My… app.

      • +2

Family member's iPhone 6 (released 11 years ago) just received an update too. That's pretty cool that Apple still releases updates for phones that old.

        • +3

It’s good they did it, but it was only certificate updates to ensure the phone could continue to connect to various services that it otherwise wouldn’t if the carts were allowed to expire. There was no security updates or features there.

Still, i bet many other manufacturers wouldn’t have bothered, so good move in that regard.

Last of the iPhones to use the lightning cable. Hard avoid.

    • +8

Iphone 14 series was the last

      • -1

You're right, my bad! Dunno why i had the 13 in my head. Either way, lightning cable=avoid.

  • +1

Feel sorry for the people who will see this post and make a purchase.

  • +1

Even $500 is almost too much for this.

  • Good luck with the stale Lithium ion battery.

  • +1

No way dude. This sucks. Don't be so anti used or repair also. Worst "deal" of the day

    • +2

Is there a badge for that? 😂

  • +3

It's not an android/ios debate at this point, 5yo phone for that price is just bad value

  • I have a 13 pro, which in and of itself, is worth no more than $500 these days, it’s ancient. No deal from me because I can’t recommend anyone buying a 13th generation iPhone.

  • +1

Whilst yep a very capable phone (the iphone 13 chip was a massive jump and still hold up today), better off saving a little more and getting an 16e or even a sale iphone 17

  • +1

    Too expensive.
We another deal like the Amaysim iPhone 12 mini deal back in 2023.

i'm genuinely shocked that these things are still floating around brand new.
But really they've already lost half their useful life in terms of software updates and such. They'll continue to be supported through to 27 or 28 for sure; they'll drop support of it; and when they do it'll be at least 3 years earlier than a current 16/17.

Plus, despite being brand new; batteries do degrade over time on their own so it's not going to be a fresn one.
At 500 bucks or less i think it's a good buy. At this price point you're better off waiting for a discount 16e

  • I have an iphone 13 and after updating to ios 26 it's become almost unusable, lags constantly, if you can get it and delay it from updating to ios 26 until they fully sort it out then it might be okay.

    • I have an iPhone 12, I loaded iOS 26 and it runs fine.

    • my 13 is mostly fine with ios 26
the only thing that really pisses me off is apps you leave open in the background will restart after only a couple mins now. really annoying

  • Didn’t I pay around this for my 15?

  • I think some people forget that a PHONE is primarily a PHONE - designed to make PHONE calls. All other stuff like camera resolution, CPU speed and ram is just tech noise. Therefore some phone users would be just happy to have a shiny new device with a new battery to make PHONE calls. Those want to use an iPhone Pro Max screen for HTMLL5 programming, Flutter and Xcode compilation, Photoshop rendering, interrogating ChatGPT etc, are free to spend $2100 on an iPhone 17, plus $10,000 on optical bills and physio.

    • Exactly, someone running an iPhone 8 or X or God forbid an IPhone 6 that died or with battery that finally completely borked could buy this and rock on for another 8 years.’

Remember it has effectively a two year warranty.

  • 16e is a better buy?

  • I have this phone it’s a POS. overheats. Lags. Slow. Battery terrible.
