Pub+ is accepted at lots of pubs, but not all. Check on the linked page.

Get 30% off full priced food menu items, Monday to Wednesday, all Feb when you scan your pub+ card at the bar, It’s free to join.

pub+ allows you to earn points and member pricing at over 350 ALH venues in Australia. It's free to use, and as a new member, you unlock up to $10 in rewards when you join.

When making a purchase, simply open your app, click ‘Card,’ and our friendly team members will scan the barcode faster than you can say ‘cheers’!

You’ll earn 1 point for every $1 you spend on food (for full details, please refer to the T&Cs).

T&C say it excludes specials, daily deals, bar menu, kids menu and seniors menu, but we ordered a seniors meal on Monday and it also got the 30% off. It’s also worked for us on previous occasions. Possibly pub specific, YMMV.

Pub+ is accepted at lots of pubs, but not all.

Pub+ is the Endeavour Group (old ALH / Woolworths) app, any venue that has it is owned by them.

Likewise, The Pass is for any venue owned by Australian Venues Co.

    Impressive list of venue exclusions.

Mates and I living off these for dinner 1-2 times a week; 40% off food and 20% off drinks if you have a mate who works at woolies/BWS/etc.

    RIP the 50% off days.

  • This app ruined my two local pubs….

Used to walk up "Pint and Parmy deal thanks".

Now its download and register the app.. every person has to have their own app to order…find a QR code…blah blah…price went up 40,%.

Average age in the pub was like 60. They don't "do apps". These places will be shut in a year.

The pub+ app and the QR code stuff is completely optional. These pubs still accept pay in person and cash. I've also seen many boomers use the app coz they are true ozbargainers at heart.

Not here…. use the app or nothing.

No option to pay cash at the counter any more. My mates were not impressed (especially since I couldn't put all meals through my app). One meal per app holder.

Got more interesting when they had promo's all over the building for a steak n wine deal, and kids eat free. Neither of which were on the app….

We used to all meet up here for regular catch ups. Done so for years. They basically lost 15 customers.

The bonus being we found a surf life savings club instead.

        • Which pub out of interest?

          • @zaphy: Seacliff Hotel

            • @tunzafun001: i'm surprised they force QR ordering.
as far as i'm aware it should be optional.
              might be a SA thing?

looking at their website they don't even have the menu showing.
might be a management team issue.

i do know corporate takes low star reviews seriously.

              • @Antikythera: Whoever does PUB+ marketing is a genius. It's rubbish and the pubs dont need it…yet they are all moving to it.

                • +2

@tunzafun001: PUB+ is only ALH venues. they just happen to have 300+ venues Australia wide.

                  it replaced the Monty's cards

Gaming regulators require a card of some sort to allow gambling help functionality.

ALH merged their version of the gaming card into the new app. Even footy tipping will be done using the system from now on.

                  • @Antikythera: Monty's was much better - 5% off food and drinks, and you still earned points on top of that.

            • @tunzafun001: Seacliff Hotel is terrible. Never had a good experience there. Yes the surf clubs are far superior. New management at the Seacliff surf club and its pretty good now.
Also the former chef from Brighton surf club now runs The Rocks Marino Restaurant which is great too.

    • My local used to have terrific daily specials, but they all disappeared during Covid. Now it’s just this pub+ offer, but their regular prices are competitive locally, eg $25 for house burger meal, $17.50 after 30% off.

    • These places will be shut in a year.

they make so much money from pokies, the food and beverage can run at a loss.

      • They literally have to keep the venue irregardless of profits; liquor license laws.

Speak for yourself, I use discount apps all the time, including pub+, almost 62

they make money off the poker machines

    • +1

I go to the pub more often because of these apps. I see the patrons all using them. They have put the price of food up to compensate, the discount brings it down to a more normal price.

I think the apps will become bigger in business, no need to pay on the eftpos machine anymore saving all the fees being lumped on to small business from these devices. Also valuable customer data and preferences.

There is definitely a luddite tax now, you get far better prices by ordering on an app at many places now, folk who don't pay through the app literally pay the price.

      • Would still be visa etc processing costs & Pub+ won't be offering the service for free. Another intermediate, another cost.

So who really is the Luddite… more like sheep to the data acquisition machine.
If no one used the app, prices wouldnt need to be increased.
The app has lots of issues, pain in the butt when ordering a schnitter requires 2 managers and 15 mins of standing waiting. Staff and customer are annoyed. All we need to do is not use it, dump a negative review and you can simply walk in and say "chicken schnitter thanks for table" 4..done, and it will already be at their best price (as they don't need to pay anything to Pub+).

If another finger is in the pie…prices have to go up

    • "These places will be shut in a year."

LOL, been taking advantage of the app and woolies discount for a couple of years. Warn me when they about to close! LMFAO

Now that ordering is all on apps, whats to stop the young bucks from ordering seniors meals and saving a few bucks?

  • +1

Anyone else have trouble triggering the 30% off if using the QR ordering? It says my pub+ is linked but still showed full price at the payment stage..

    • Defence rests your honor….

      The app is rubbish.

Didn't get this problem when you go to the counter and pay the promo price.

Approaching the age of stupid over complication… If there is an extra finger in the pie, things get worse.

..old man waving a fist at a cloud … present

      • Annoying as I wanted to sneak a senior meal in on the app for 30% off….

  • Did you order via the staff or via QR?

  • No options anywhere remotely near ACT
