how about gas? seems like AGL had the 200 for elec and 200 for gas previously but now it's only 100 each? trying to set up both for a new address where there would be hardly any usage for the next few months so trying to concentrate on daily supply rather than c/kwh too much. I think best to find something with the max cash back or gift card offer as I really only need the account for a few months..

Only way to get a better deal with Origin I've found is to sign up elsewhere. Their retentions team will then call with better offers.

Feed-in: 8c for first 10kwh then 3c. Others have gotten better feed-in but I only have 3kw system so this works for me.

Initiated a transfer out of origin for AGL’s $200 elec and $200 gas credit deal. Retention team called and offered $200 elec credit and $150 gas credit. haggled a bit and they applied a one off immediate $50 credit for gas to stay.
They also asked me to pull up AGL’s rate and they beat the daily and ongoing supply charges by a couple of cents for both elec and gas so decided to stay.

why is gas supply tagged? it doesn't apply to gas
Their Go variable rate are terrible (used to be good), it will overwrite your credit.
in my case there was no cheaper rate elsewhere

Origin rates for me near Newcastle NSW are as follows. No demand charge I can see. Engie rate for usage is marginally better but I got slugged $68.13 demand charge for the 24 days we were home in December compared to about $42 of actual usage. Engie supply charge is also about $1.12 a day. Switching for sure as long as there is no demand penalty.

Daily costs Daily Supply 88.72 ¢/day
Note - I still have $179 sign up credit from Engie. I have meet EConnex conditions for the gift card. I have requested Engie by phone to refund my credit. Lady processed it but I will wait until it hits my bank to switch.

UPDATE - contacted Origin by chat and was advised none of their plans have a demand rate.

I rang up now and was told I will get my credit applied by the system in my August bill. I don't see any -ve balance. I'm not happy about having to stay another 3 months. Operator tells me I am cutting in and out, and sounding crackly…What to do now?

mmm, this could explain why they're dodging my $200 dollar bill credit. Have lodged a complaint with Origin support a little over a week back but still waiting. Had to also chase up support a while back for the RaF credit but didn't realize it was a one or the other situation, cheeky.

Origin drafted the terms. If it wanted to exclude certain things or impose other restrictions, it had the option to do so. Eg, you see in some promotions a term like:
Cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer.

Unfortunately, based on our terms and conditions, the $200 sign-up credit is only available if you haven’t received any credits from us in the past 12 months. Since you’ve already received a $50 Refer a Friend credit, you’re no longer eligible for the $200 sign-up credit.
