    Solid unit.
Just bought one a few days ago to charge all my camera gear.
Doesn't get super hot. When loading it up it gets warm but no throttling issues yet.

Efficiency is decent too. Nothing amazing, but a reliable unit.

    • Does it come with the US plug like the photo?

      • +2

Nope. AU plug. Standard C7 connector

        • If that's the case they should update the listing to reflect its 240v with AU power plug. All I see in the listing is the USA 120v with Type A - 2 pin (North American) power plug. Even though it says its sold by Anker AU. Also doesn't come with any USB cables. So you will need to buy them separately if you don't have any that fit this.

  • Does this have a figure 8 power adapter?

    • +1

      Mine does.

      • Do you get static shock with those 2 pin plug?

    • +3

      Note 3 says:

We recommend using the provided AC cord or a standard C7 2-pin AC cord

Web search says that a C7 is what we call a figure 8.

      • +1

        Is that an issue?

        • +8

Most would see it as a benefit, makes it much easier for travelling internationally.

          • @OZB Al: Thanks, ordered one.

          • +1

@OZB Al: Isn't this unit pretty heavy for travel?

            • @t25: I would buy the 160w Anker for that purpose.

        • +3

Gave you an upvote Jazza, not sure why an honest question was downvoted like that….

        • +2

C7 is a very common standard connector for a power cable, and it's great that it's C7,
because you'll be able to find suitable connectors for foreign plugs, should you want to use this unit overseas.

  • A photo under reviews confirms this charger has a figure 8 power inlet

    • -1

      Is that an issue?

      • Not an issue, it is the standard removable connection you'd expect to see

      • +1

        Do you have a stutter?

        • Asked multiple times incase people are like me and don't open ozb for another 6 days after making a comment.

      • +1

I believe he is just asking, why downvote?

  • +2

I have one of these. Is a great unit. Can charge laptops at 100w while running. Has no led's so is perfect for bedside charging station.

  • the problem with all the desktop charger with multiple ports is:
when we plug 6 cables to each port (without any device on the other end, or say just one) it will still think there are 6 connections and the power will get distributed to all ports

    • That issue depends on the particular charger. USB C doesn't draw power or indicate a connection unless an end device is connected, so your issue will only occur on circuits within the charger that pair USB A ports.

Try removing your cables from the USB A ports and see how you go!

      • ah didnt know usb C is different!.
hmm but i want to keep this item under my desk with just 6 cables poking out ready for me to use on the end part of the cable

        • +2

This is actually one of the better chargers for doing that. Your USB A being plugged in will always have an impact, but your first USB C will get 100W, your second 70W. As you add more USB C it will drop to 65/45/45/20W.

By comparison, without USB A you'd get 100W/100W for your first two USB C ports connected.

          • @DJ: hmm right… this one is big wattage on every ports - the power distribution for 6 ports is good enough for my purpose (one C to charge laptop 65w is enough, the rest lower wattages are fine for smaller devices i dont have another laptop)

        • thats what i do and they dont all stop charging and recharging when something is connected or disconnected

Too bad it's too heavy for travelling

  • Grabbed one for my workbench. I have the Anker Prime with the screen/display and love it, works great so thinking this will be just as good

  • as a multi-port charger, I am a bit concerned that it doesn't seem to have earth/ground point.

    • You’ll generally only find earth on appliances where the enclosure is metal, which suggests this one has a plastic exterior.

      • +1

look at duk242's comment below —- I hate that little static tingles.

        • A ground pin will only ground the charger’s casing. I don’t think it will do anything for subsequent output ports.

I have seen a few reports of MacBooks and their exterior tingly to the touch (not just with Anker’s chargers) so I do wonder if it’s a broader problem?

          • @P1xellat3d: yeh you are correct, it doesn't earth the other side of USB. But it does reduce the risk of fault current, also quote online

Many laptop/USB chargers have small Y-capacitors between live/neutral and the output for EMI filtering.
Without earth, the output floats at about ~60–110V AC (very low current).

  • I've got one of these at work - it goes pretty good, loading it up with a bunch of USBC Stuff charging (and my MacBook Pro 15") and it gets a little bit warm but nothing too hot.

2 things I'll note about it:
    1. Doesn't have a display - for most people this won't matter, but I usually charge weird things that don't have any charge indicators on them and I wish it had a display…
    2. Plugging my MacBook (with the MacBook charger that came with the machine and non-grounded plug) into the same power board as the Anker Charger - there's ~0.8-1.5v between my MacBook case and the USB Charger ground, so I get fun little tingles when I'm resting my hand on my MacBook and touching another machine charging off the Anker thing.

But yeah, it's a decent charger eh.

    • What chargers have a display? I haven't seen any though, besides the ones we use to charge batteries from xstar etc.

      • +1

Check out Cuktech Ultra 10 Super Charger. It has TFT display that shows charging current for each port, bluetooth, smart power allocation ect. Got mine from Taobao about AUD $60 delivered to Sydney and loving it.

        • +2

          Wut tech

        • Oh wow, saw some of their other chargers. Looks impressive.

I've got one similar to this (didn't pay that much) - It shows you each USB port and how much power's being used by each port.

I also have the little tiny in line power meter things, they're useful too :)

      • Anker does have one of these available, got one at home and works well over last 12 months, I bought mine from China while travelling cost around AUD$50-60ish but comes with 2 straight pin, okay to use at home but was painful when bring it travelling to Europe, most of the hotel sockets are very old, loose and quite above the desk, with a converter this charge will be hardly be firmly plugged in

    • Can get USB-C cables with a small screen in the connector to show current wattage. There's some for $2 in the bundle deals section on Aliexpress.

I use them to know when a device is close to full charge, as the wattage will drop, and stop around 90% charge to extend the battery longevity of my devices.

  • I don't recommend if you're trying to charge more than 2 devices at once. It power loops. (Sends 25w to phone then cuts out to 0w, then does it continuously 0-25-0) Bought one a couple of months back and sent it back.

    • any good ones you'd recommend?

    • +1

i charge 3 tablets with this every day and have had no issues.

    • +2

This sounds more like a broken charger, or an iffy cable.

    • is this very unit power loop?

some charger power loops, some premium one's with better chip doesn't.

  • +2

I bought this when it was $150 last May.

It's a really nice unit. Everything charges well and the unit itself is well made.

  • Wish this on sale a week ago before I left for my holiday

  • Gonna buy one immediately now! Thanks!

  • +1

I bought one of these a 18 months ago off Aliexpress. Hasn't skipped a beat - with screen and chi charger.

  • How do we like it vs the UGREEN 200W which was the same price recently?

2 extra USB-C ports but biggest downside I see is USB-A1, A2 and C6 all share a total budget of 15W.
