GSM Arena. FYI - no 3.5mm jack.

    • +33

Is it missing the Snake game too?

      • +3

And battery not clip in/out 😂

        • +7

Damn hopefully that will be a feature one day. Imagine just being able to swap out your battery in a matter of seconds!!!

All batteries should be standardised too, like AA batteries.

          • +1

@WatchNerd: AA ? The phone would be thicccc

          • +1

@WatchNerd: Been and gone- Nokia 5110 etc

          • +5

@WatchNerd: "Things that Gen Z missed out"

          • @WatchNerd: I want to angry at the things we have lost! But on the flipside, our phones are super thin and can fit in our pockets and are also mini computers. You can't have everything!

            • +2

@lew380: They're bigger and heavier than 20 years ago

              • -1

@Big L: Bigger and heavier is subjective in this instance.

  • -1

I heard Moto's software support is pretty average.

      • +3

        But only updates.

The Samsung equivalent is the A56 but it is more expensive and Moto still has some advantages.

Personally I think mid rangers can't survive 7 years anyway, you'll be frustrated by your experience before than and upgrade

    • +12

Average is by definition 'fine' though - I'd say it's a fair assessment.
Updates are a little behind, but I've never had a buggy one.

Hopefully most people wouldn't be buying what these days counts as a 'budget' phone, expecting above average features.
Moto already, typically, punches well above their price class.

  • The only difference between this and the old Edge 50 Neo seems to be a slightly larger screen.

    • +3

No wireless charging and no telephoto lens also on this Fusion (compared to Edge 50 Neo).

      • +19

Edge 50 Neo also has 2 undocumented features too:

        • A higher end DAC on the USB-C output (as in, you can use a passive 3.5mm adaptor, and the audio output is CLEAN).
        • QZSS Satelite support (Great if you travel or live on the coast of AU) - explains the fast GPS locks.

Both were nice surprises for me, as I use both :)

    • +1

      and a larger battery

    • +2

Edge 60 Neo exists too, not yet in aus though. Bigger battery and mtk 7400.

    • It looks like this has a curved screen too (like most of Moto's Edge phones, except the Neo)

  • +2

Thanks @shxhshzhz, been waiting for something like this to come up. My phone is not in good shape

    Deal worked for me

    • +1

My phone is not in good shape

      What shape is it?

      • +1

        Parallelogram

      • +1

        (go) pear-shaped

      • Well …mostly rectangular prism?
The battery was letting me down so I got it changed out. But the glue does not appear to have held the back is bowing a little now and the battery life is still crap. :/

  • +9

FYI - 3 years of major Android OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates. Released in early 2025, the device is slated to receive security patches until approximately March 2029

    • -2

      TBF I don't think I've kept a phone more than 2 years since the iPhone 3GS :D

  • How’s this compare to the G86 Power?

    • +3

      https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=13752&idPhone…

      • Less Battery
        = Uses the same processor
= Same screen resolution and refresh rate but - curved
      • More Ram
      • Better Camera (slightly)
      • One more update
      • Faster charging
    • +2

I picked up the G86 Power 5G in this deal late last year. So far love the phone and I was coming from a Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G.

Nano Review comparison of the G86 Power to the Edge 60 Fusion is here and worth a browse.

Seem to be very similar rated, so might come down to battery size (G86 Power wins 6720 vs 5200 mAh), or RAM (Edge 60 wins with 50% more) & charging speed (Edge 60 wins 68W versus 30W).

      • +2

Thanks, I actually bought the G86 Power with that exact same deal you posted lol. I’m shocked at how good it is for the price.

I work in app development so I have a bit of a personal inventory of test devices, which I also cycle through as my daily personal phone (so I can be familiar/comfortable) with the different platforms - iOS vs Android etc). Whenever a good deal comes up I think of it’s something to add to my collection.

        • +1

Same. I’m using a iPhone 11 Pro Max from 2020 and besides the camera the only major thing the G86 Power lacks is decent wifi and data speeds. I believe it is a limitation of the processor. Otherwise I was surprised. The phone literary cost 1/10th the price of the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

        • Unbelievably good isn't it!?

  • How's the camera on these?

    • +3

      It has NFC.

      • +2

My bad. Should never trust Ai results

        • +3

Always remember: you can’t spell FAIL without AI

          • @zathras: I hate the guts of it and yet sometimes I don't double check the results.

  • Would this fone be classed as a upgrade from a Samsung A52

    • +1

generally yes, has double the RAM, faster charging and possibly a better camera.

  • Great find. Have had to look at a replacement phone for a family member as of yesterday and was dismayed at the lack of deals.

Then this comes along, bingo bango nice nice. I've got one myself (got in September) and I have absolutely no complaints, and I paid ~$200 more lol.

    Cheers OP

  • Damn. I already used the code on the M365 deal

  • hi all,

Isn't it cheaper to get from Mobileciti combining with this deal? Would anyone know the exact cashback amount that we can get please? afaik the calculation excludes GST? about $329 after cashback?

    • +1

Looks like it would be $72.54 cashback (ex GST), so $326.45 total

    • But it's mobileciti

  • +1

Motorola will do anything but put micro sd in a mid tier phone 🥲

I don't think there is a single phone on the market with telephoto and micro sd. Nothing is also guilty of this.

Micro sd isn't a deal-breaker, but it saved my ass when the screen in my last Motorola was smashed and I couldn't get into the phone at all to enable data transfer via PC or adb.

    • +2

Motorola Edge 60 has telephoto and micro SD

      • Thanks good to know. Can only find it on Amazon via UK or Germany so looks like it was never released in Australia?

Can only see the fusion and a couple of places selling the pro.

        • +1

I think the Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro has micro sd and telephoto if you can find one at JB.

          • @CheapGit: Just looked it up and you are correct. Couple of options then. Probably none in future.

  • Plus reminder -
if your travelling overseas you have 90 days from
date you purchase item to claim the GST back :)

    • -1

As long as it is a gift for your overseas girlfriend

      • Nope… you can bring it back as long as you're within the duty free limits.

        • +2

Mydc5r's local girlfriend will be happy then

    • you have 90 60 days

      • correct…. 60 days… Thank you 4 the correction

    • Don't forget to pre-wipe your phone in case Border Force decide to enact their crazy overextended powers on your phone.

  • Thoughts please the G86 or the 60 Fusion.

  • MediaTek = no custom roms, I had this problem with a previous Motorola Edge

    • +1

Mum and dad's dun care about custom roms

    • Lineage OS?

      • +1

Never mind, only Snapdragon chips have it

  • Any 512gb deals ?

  • If the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion 12GB RAM/256GB is an improvement on the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion 12GB RAM/256GB, then it's a very good phone for the price.

Even the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion 12GB RAM feels modern and snappy.

  • Thanks OP brought one for my uber driving usage

  • +1

Bought this phone a month ago as an upgrade for my ageing Galaxy S20 FE 5G and I'm very impressed with it. Cost me half the price that my S20 FE did when it was new and has about the same performance with more RAM, snappier software (near-stock Android), and 68W fast charging. I mainly bought it for the microSD and eSIM support but the water resistance is a plus. The only two downsides over my old phone are the P-OLED screen (dark mode looks grainy if you turn brightness down too far unless it's pure black) and lack of wireless charging. I'd definitely recommend it at this price, and it just got the Android 16 upgrade recently so you'll have the latest features too.

  • Bought G86 on 2nd December, it wasn't delivered until now, had to go pickup from good guys, what a terrible experience.

This one had 4gb more ram but less battery I guess

  • What would be the next step up from this phone?

  • Jizzraeli spy tech.

  • Bought my in laws the previous generation fusion phone from a very similar deal couple of years ago, after about a year of use, display has started to show dead pixel lines, one of the side buttons had fallen off of socket or so… Which is pretty dissapointing quality imo. The display assembly costs around $200 for replacement + labour which is not good for repairs. Ofcourse this won't happen to every user, but after this experience & high repair costs I have second thoughts on this.

  • Lol was it pricing error it's gone back to $397?

    • +1

Once you go to check out
      You place the code… Welcome50
      Reducing the price.
      Hope this helps you …

      • hmm I see so its cheaper that TGG thanks

  • Got the 700s compo from Google on my swollen pixel 7a. Bought a 60 fusion very happy so far camera takes amazing pics and fast charge in about 15mins is a keeper

  • OOS now

  • OOS, any recommendation for similar alternative to replace mum's old phone ?

    • Samsung A36… $299.

    • +1

Just ordered from Everyday market place, seller Mobile citi for $398.99 with Shopback back 28% cashback. $111.71 tracked already. Comes down to $287.28. This deal

  • +2

Rocking the Edge 50 here, it's a great value midrange, does the job without any drama. Friends still nod approvingly at my blurry brunch pics like they’re art, bless them. We both know it’s mid, but the social contract demands the enthusiasm.

I think the edge 60 brings a similar experience.
