Good price for 32GB DDR4 desktop memory given current RAM prices.
Limit 2 per household but i suspect there isn't much stock

I'm sorry, no. Not everyone who builds computers are 'gamers'.
This is just another attempt at console warring masked as an admittedly terrible take.
@Binchicken22: Who mentioned a 5080?
I'm struggling to see how we went from getting priced out of memory to GPU useage?
@bargainsheep017: Well it's all kind of related, GPU prices are rising due to the ram they use too and every GPU deal that's posted people are whinging about this same topic…
@Binchicken22: It is and it isn't. I was only responding to your response directly to the guy complaining about RAM.
The problem isn't AI, the problem is getting priced out of hardware. And when the bubble pops, it isn't the corporations buying up in bulk that are going to suffer, it will be the consumers when they try to offset the cost to us.
i use my PC when using Office365 and things rather than the work supplied laptop, or Google apps from uni when not using my 14” uni laptop. i don’t do any gaming, but current RAM prices are holding me back from a new build, or getting my laptop off 8GB to 16 or 24GB. World doesn’t stop if you already have a computer but it impacts retailers also who want to sell cases, power supplies, motherboards etc for new build and people cut back on new builds.
Yeah the crazy speculation AI bubble of tech bros splurging billions is totally for our own good and they wont use it concentrate power, make a surveillance state, and slash jobs, but cure cancer and give us all puppies and it is us regular people who are being greedy.
@confidantduk: It's so broad brush it shouldn't need a /s! Shame about the downvotes, and the state of peoples' satire/sarcasm detectors.
@Binchicken22: Man you really identify with billionaire tech bros despite the stealing of hard work, proliferation of sexually abusive chatbots and destruction of water and local environments for the sake of 'progress' hey 🤔 different strokes for different folks I guess
Yeah brother, let's blame the gamers who make up a small market segment instead of the suppliers…
@Binchicken22: Gamers buy games, accessories, new consoles etc this creates jobs in shops etc, AI data centres don’t create many grassroots or retail jobs. As much as microsoft and others are investing heavily in AI, Google has the phone users and also chrome, apple has phone users and outside of work, people spend more time on phones than laptops or PCs, we’ll see who turns AI into real revenue for shareholders , open AI, chatgpt, grok , gemini, etc.
@garage sale: That's a real stretch saying that gaming "supports retails" and AI has no benefits for society… Apart from maybe, speeding up medical advances 100x…
Especially considering gamers buy essentially all their games digitally now, most accessories from Amazon or other "big box" online computer retailers.
butthurt
What are you, 12?
Your comeback line actually sounds 12 too
What are you interested in? Hope that increases 5x in price due to AI.
In fact hope whatever job you have gets taken over by AI and when it does let me quote you as being butthurt :-)
You forgot to take your pill today bro
I always have to laugh when I see "people" think that AI is just here to benefit us, and not to totally manage and lock down the populace in the near future.
Mildly satisfying seeing ai related stocks take a hit this week. Hopefully the downhill trajectory continues. These muppets are making record losses while gobbling up hardware shoehorning ai in places no one asked for.
Mildly unsatisfied today then I guess?…
Eh? Ai tech stocks and earnings reports are still red and in the toilet except for a handful of companies selling shovels. Did you just look at nvda and come running to type this comment? lol. If you're desperate for braindead ragebait reactions try reddit or twitter.

Far out. And here I bought I paid too much in 2021 ($181)
Back to 640KB RAM. Should be enough. Bill Gates did deny saying this back in 1981 though. I think he is denying much more serious issues recently.
Bill had plenty of RAM when visiting Epstein’s Island.
AI centres are not gearing up with ddr4 or laptop ram. All bs manufactured scarcity of these sticks.
DDR5 market has narrowed hence
There's some definite price-gouging going on, but there is also a genuine uptick in demand for DDR4 memory. System builders are buying it as a more affordable alternative to DDR5.
There are still plenty of DDR4 motherboards that support processors that are fast enough for most uses. Pair with some cheaper DDR4 memory, and your build comes in for hundreds of dollars less than a comparable DDR5-based build.
I just completed a brand-new (AM4-based) DDR4 build. I have a supply of DDR4 memory on-hand anyway, so the build ended up being a total bargain by the standards of today's market. However, if I didn't have the RAM already, I'd be jumping on deals like this one.
They are not but manufacturers rescheduled all ddr4 and most ddr5 production lines to HBM which is AI centre needs
The scarcity is because all DRAM is manufactured in the same fabs and production has shifted away from consumer grade stuff.
i thought AI will make more things cheaper and efficient…
The mistake with that is that we all assumed that it would be cheaper and efficient for consumers. So far it's only done that for corporations…
They could invent a machine that makes wishes come true and they will charge you and I to use it.
Just gotta dl linkin_park.exe from limewire first !!
think it’s time to put the ddr4 ram i have from my old computers on facebook, thought demand for ddr4 would have gone the way of ddr3.
I think, I should sell my RAM I bought last year, wait a year, and get a new PC with that money.
How long till we have to go back to ddr3 .. f u AI…
