    Says $210 for me?

    • says $139 on mine, set a store see if it changes

      • Selected three different stores in my area - still at $210

        • I even changed it to your location brisbane & it comes up as $139, which store are you trying?

      • What store are you with?

    • Same, $210: Every Qld store I tried e.g. Cannon Hill, Mt Gravatt (Logan Rd), Mt Gravatt (Wecker Rd), Manly West, Oxley, Robina, Mackay…

using Chrome/Windows, but same on mobile (iOS)

      • It’s a issue with Bunnings website, try different browsers

        screenshot cannon hill $139.95

        • Wouldn't let me go to cart though

        • Looks like it's VIC only. That screenshot is possible as delivery/collection address hasn't been confirmed (tested). As soon as QLD address is confirmed, price switches back to $210.

          • @teaserenn: just go in-store or call before going, $139 price is correct

            • @RogueWolf: Powerpass is showing $210 for QLD stores. Switches to $139 for VIC.

              • @teaserenn: you're right, changes in qld, will update header to vic

      • try on incognito mode of your browser

  • Same for me

I"m a big fan of the 12v series. as someone who uses them a lot, the small size and weight makes a difference and very rarely really encountered situation where I needed the power of 18v or corded.
saying that, I prefer the 2amp batteries and above since they have charge display on them, while these 1.5 ones do not, so slightly less conveninent knowing when you need to change the batteries over.

    • +2

Yeah I have the milwaukee, bosch and this 12v.

This is the lightest by far and most balanced. Not as much power as the milwaukee but at this price this is a steal. Literally buying this for the 2 batteries and extra charger.

      • Given how many you’ve tried - is this still a good deal at $210? Thanks in advance

        • +2

          it's always mostly $210. $140 is a fantastic deal.

It's the cheaper of all 3 sets.

Get this if you want some light as it's the most ergonomic.

          • @CalmLemons: Thanks, sorry the reason I ask is that it’s only offered for $210 where I live (NSW). So wondered whether it’s still worthwhile getting.

            • @taffy1900: No, better off looking for 18v sets when looking at $200+

            • @taffy1900: If you just need someone light around the house, get it.

No point if you're using it professionally.

Would you say this one without being brushless is still better than the Bosch? I have a Bosch and wondering if this would be an upgrade. Thanks!

        • +1

No. Don't bother. The Bosch does the job fine, I think it looks better too than the makita. The Bosch feels more powerful, not sure about the actual torque specs.

  • Works on mobile for me, not on desktop.

  • $210 for me, Sydney

  • +4

It's not brushless , surprised in 2026 still have tools that are not brushless from reputable brands.

    • no need as these are used for small jobs like installing furniture/cabinets.

There are festool/bosch/milwaukee proper cabinet drivers for those though.

  • +2

Opening it in incognito mode shows $139.95, but as soon as you enter your postcode or delivery address, it switches back to $210. I’m in Sydney.

  • also showing $139 on power pass app so price should be right, if having issues ordering online, best go in-store to purchase

  • -2

Not brushless, may as well buy something dirt cheap

  • +2

28nm drill and 110nm impact driver torque incase someone is looking for.

  • Is this good value at this price? just for home use DIY, hoping to do some cabinet joinery work and putting together a raised garden bed, etc.
I have a corded hammer drill and have been using that for just about everything, definitely a bit bulky and heavy. Been eyeing for a good ideal but haven't been in the market for long enough to know which one is a real value deal.

    • Yeah i think it's good. But you'll likely still need another ecosystem bc other makita tools will be too exxy and over specd for your needs.

    • yeah seems really good value for quick jobs around the house. Not for all day heavy jobs, especially with the smaller battery size, but will get the job done for most. And a really good brand compared to other cheap drills/drivers

      • Thank you. Ordered online! Stock seems to be running low around my area

    • My first introduction to battery tools was a similar Ryobi set about 15 years ago.
Never looked back. The little set lasted a while until the batteries failed and couldnt be replaced. But now have a substantial 18v collection of tools I'm very happy with.
My corded tools come out rarely these days.

  • Was showing as $210 on desktop. Entered location and now showing $139. I don't really need an other ecosystem, but for this price…

I have a heap of Makita CXT 12V tools and they are fantastic Some I used for work as well as at home and they have had a stack of use.

Most are now from about 7 to10 yrs old and all still working perfectly. They are nice to use, are very light and do 90-95% of what I need them to do

At this price for general diy and around the house, genuine bargain in my humble opinion.

  • Has anyone actually purchased this? Can get it to show $139.95 but as soon as you put in click and collect store or delivery info it reverts to the $210

  • Enough power for screw in tent pegs?

  • -4

Do yourself a favour, and get the 18V.

  • Do I then need to buy Impact Driver Bit Set to go with it? https://www.bunnings.com.au/makita-38pce-impact-driver-bit-s…
Or is it okay to go with other generic brand - are there much difference for the bits between different brands?

    • +5

Any brand of bits will work in an impact driver. They are all 1/4 hex interface.

But there are levels. Just from personal experience, Makita bits are pretty average. Dewalt are quite good, Milwaukee are excellent. Would suggest avoiding Craftright, Ryobi, Trojan or any home brand from anywhere.

I would also avoid Kango, which is an overpriced Bunnings exclusive brand, manufactured under the TTI company which also owns Milwaukee, Ryobi and AEG etc.

Not used them, but Bosch Pro and Diablo are also well regarded. Bosch also owns Diablo, so they should be on a par.

Spend a few extra buck an buy something like this set for $45. You will thank me later.

Thank you so much for sharing these pointers. As a noob I can't thank you enough to help me avoid the buy cheap buy many times trap.

        • +1

Highly recommend it, I moved from cheap bits to that Milwaukee set. Haven't looked back since

        • Happy to be able to help. I am sure you will be able to offer the same advice after using quality bits.

  • Saw this today but looks like the deal is finished?

    • it's back in stock if you weren't aware already.
