Great shoes - trained for the last Sydney marathon with these. Some people would prefer more cushion, for that get the megablast.

  • +3

Thanks got a green pair. Nicest colour way they have released since Paris, which I’m still using and still looks as good as new. $24 cashback tracked instantly.

    • What cashback app?

      • +1

TopCashback…however it never seems to track for me as it uses your phone web browser and things like ad block can interfere with it. Much prefer the standalone apps like Shopback as cashback always tracks.

    Suitable for wide feet ?

    • +4

I have 'E' width feet and i have had no issues with them.

      • +1

Did you get your usual size or half/full size up in D Width? Thanks

        • +1

Not OP, but I had to go a full size up. Usually a US 9, and I was snug in a 10. That's never happened before. The most I've ever sized up was half size.

I have slightly wide feet, and love roomy toebox shoes. Recently wearing Zero shoes, so not sure if that has allowed my feet to splay even wider than usual….

        • I went TTS but to be honest i think half size up would work better. I have 1 foot thats a US 10 and the other is a US 10.5 so i think going a full size up relative to my smaller foot would have pushed it too much as their length is generous

    • +3

I tried it on earlier, no good.
I went half size up but felt too snug and with swelling on runs will get uncomfortable.

Wanted this deal but held myself back.

For context my current runners are the new balance rebel 5 in 2e width

  • Not working for me. Website is borked.

  • +12

Rebel will also price match, picked these up today for $200.

  • +1

Any difference compare to Gel-kayano series?

    • +12

Kayanos are stability shoes that are more suitable for people with flat feet or more prone to injuries. Suitable for walking, running, and everything in between. Superblast is a super shoes that's meant for running and not so much for walking. They're build for everyday running and quite stable actually.

      • I tried running on kayano 32, sole was burning. Perfect for walking though

      • This is super helpful, thank you

  • Are these ever available in wide widths?

    • +1

Don’t need them really, these are a pretty wide fit.

    • @phynicle no they only come in standard widths unfortunately

  • +7

great shoes, got one pair from rebel by price matching online, and with 10% discounted gift card, it could bring it to $180 to get one.

    • Same! Hard to say no at $180!

    • +4

where do I get the gift card with 10% off?

  • +5

Note: Like a lot of people, I recommend going 0.5 size up.

The toebox area is more tapered and my toes cramped up compared to my normal TTS US 10 size in my Novablasts, GT2000, etc.
10.5 is now perfect on the Superblast 2.

  • +2

Thanks OP, will be returning student beans as getting these $24 cheaper why not!!!

    • +3

A lot of time, effort, postage and admin costs to save $24 - even if not borne by you.
I understand this if for a large sum but I probably wouldn’t bother for this amount. I wish companies were better at refunding differences for things like this instead of encouraging return and repurchase practices.

      • +1

Just return at the store, took me 2 minutes the other day

  • +1

Thanks OP, had some rebel gift cards sitting around. Took a bit of time to get the online price match it worked.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, appreciate it 🙏

  • +1

Done about 200km so far in a pair of these. Great shoes. Just bought another pair. Cheers OP

  • +1

Got a green colour pair, what a cracker deal. Thanks OP.

  • Damn 12.5 out of stock..guessing rebel wont price match if out of stock?

    • Looks like still in stock for the black/white

  • -2

What’s the difference between this and KAYANO?

    • +5

Have you read through the comments above?

  • Great deal. Unfortunately it does not come in 2E. So, not for me.

  • +1

Not sure if transferable but I received a $20 off code via email I won’t be using. DM me if you would like to try and send it across.

“As a thank you for being a OneASICS™ member, take $20 off your next purchase of $100 or more with code

    Code sent to gurps4u

    • Hope it works, but quite sure this is only off RRP, no sale items

  • +1

I rarely see ASICS throw discounts for these kinds of shoes, let alone other outlets. I have never seen it discounted this much. Is the Superblast 3 coming?

    • +2

Yes likely being released next month.

  • +1

And I just bought the Saucony endorphins pro 4 the day before. What timing.

    • One for training one for race day!

  • +2

Thank you! Used to like kayanos but the later models don't suit me so well. I got a pair of Asics Contend 9 at the last special and started to get some achilles after a relatively models number of Kms per week. At $200 will try these - thanks OP. Hoping to do my first triathlon this year in my 50s, so hopefully these shoes are magic! :D

Would have picked these up if I hadn't ventured into Chinese running shoes. Much better bang for buck.

    • +1

When I saw 3rd place male from Sydney 2025 wearing X-tep, I was convinced that Chinese shoes tech are catching up real fast! And they sell them for a fraction of the cost! Besides, shoes help, but the bulk of the performance is a runner's commitment to training. I just wish there are more english reviews online about these Chinese brands.

      • +5

I'd argue Chinese brand has better tech. They put more advanced foam into your 'lower-tier' daily trainers, at fraction of the cost. There are a few youtube reviewers that do extensive reviews and comparisons. To name a few, run-are, jogoncrago who both are Aussies. There is also hui (Chinese dude trying to practice English) who reviews smaller brands, and fod-runner who is more race/training focused.

  • Do they have good arch support like the gel Kayano 32?

    • +1

The ASICS Superblast 2 features a neutral, supportive design suitable for runners with medium to high arches. The midsole includes a noticeable, structured arch, while the wing material from the midsole extends upwards to provide support in the arch area.

  • +1

Cheers OP, had my eye on the sb2s for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. With cashback its such a good price!

  • +4

Cheers OP,Got 1 Pair. I used to walk in parkrun every saturday. Henceforth going to run….

  • Cheers OP wasn't looking but picked up a pair great discount.

  • Anyone wears barefoot shoes? If so, is there still a case for wearing this or similar type of running shoes? Not a runner but often go for an hour walks or so.

    • Don’t buy this if you’re not running. More prone to injury than any benefits.

  • Cheers OP. Bought a black pair! See how half sizing up goes.

  • Is there no point to buy these shoes if you don't run? what if you just walk a lot, are they also good? haha

    • No. Get a Kayano/GT2000 for stability or Nimbus/Cumulus for neutral.

    • At this price you might as well use for walking. They are pretty comfy though not exactly cushy like a NB1080v14 for example.

    • +1

They have a pretty pronounced heel. I wouldnt recommend them for walking, much better options out there. They feel a lot comfier to me when running.

  • Since when were cheap shoes $200 now not $150. Know things have gone up but wow!

    • +2

Superblast is supposedly on a different level of being a daily trainer from speed to long to easy runs and some even do marathons in them. Asics basically got it right in these. Ive never heard of any negatives about these shoes from my runner friends. People are willing to pay a premium for these.

That aside, there are plenty of cheap running shoes that are great when they go on sale and sub-$150. Like the Puma Deviate Nitro 3 that was posted a few months back for $124.99.

  • +1

Thank you! Got the black one price matched at rebel and 8% gift card from Bupa. Used the online ‘price match’ chat link.
    Excellent!

  • Black/white USA 11.5 mens out of stock online but went in-store and picked one up 👍

  • I had one. Great shoes. It’s tempting to buy a second pair for rotation, but I’m not sure if I really need it. Any advice?

    • +1

@changunsw if you loved them buy another pair as their durability is incredible. They are damn good value at $200.I dont forsee them getting any cheaper than this. If you find yourself not being as budget conscious and like being up to date with the newer models maybe wait for the Superblast 3 that releases in a month?

      • What about durability ?

        • One of the most durable shoes on the market. Ive seen a lot of reviews with people getting over 1000km in them. Ive been running in mine for over a year and the sole looks like new. Good value for money for sure!

          • @RightFootLeftFoot: I was thinking about Adidas Ultraboost 5 or Nike Flyknit (any recent), which both get better reviews than Asics and can be hald price from this one. Do you think Asics is better for long run?

            • @Ozzster: @Ozzster i havent run in either of those shoes but i own like 30 different pairs of running shoes and ive run in my Superblast 2 the most out of all of them.

  • Price matched at rebel, thanks op.

Also pricematched a Garmin but they may have gotten that wrong as it was way cheaper than it should have been… See what arrives I guess.

    • Interesting, which Garmin and how much?

  • The sales finished now. I bought one but had to return due to sizing. I normally go with US9 and bought 9.5. This wasnt enough for toe room. I recommend at least 1 size up.

    • I decided to go down half a size this time. I returned the bigger pair today to Asics store and they still had $200 sale stickers on the shelves. I find these quite a roomy shoe. I have a pair in the Paris colourway which are half size bigger, but thought I might go for a slightly more snug fit this time.
