Long time OzB'r, first time poster - Happy to take on any feedback.

Apple TV seems to have the first four Indiana Jones movies in a collection at an ATL for $14.99
Works out to $3.75 per movie, saving just over $45 compared to buying each separately. (Thanks to CheapCharts for the notification)

Included titles:
* Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) [$14.99]
* Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) [$14.99]
* Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) [$14.99]
* Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) [$14.99]

Also, for those wanting the complete collection, bear in mind that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) is NOT included in this bundle.

And yes, I know these deals seem to annoy a lot of the OzB community due to not owning the content and referring to it as "Long term renting" and that's fine! This deal is more for people like me who don't mind "renting" it for years and having quick and easy access on their TV to a 4K version of some great all-time movies.
But as a personal analogy, every movie/show I've purchased on Apple TV has yet to disappear - and I know nothing will beat owning physical media; but I'm ready for the negs anyway.

Q: Can I access the movies if I do not have an active Apple TV+ subscription?
A: Yes, you can buy the collection and access them without an active Apple TV subscription

Q: Will I own these movies forever?
A: Technically no, Apple has the content license that they will allow you to access for as long as they exist and have the rights to the content.

Enjoy! :)

"bear in mind that Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) is NOT included in this bundle."

Even Apple TV knows where to draw the line.

They drew the line one movie too late.

They had to go woke, too bad.

    • I haven't watched it. Is it that bad?

      • +11

        There are only three movies

        • Dial of Destiny is a good movie. It's $25 on iTunes though, it's not that good. For $3.75 I'd buy it to complete the set.

This introduction at the premiere of Indiana Jones:DoD by Steven Spielberg should give some idea how well it was received.
Basically, when you keep killing off the male hero because you have some ideology to promote, it tends to irk some of the long term fans, who just wanted to be entertained not lectured to.
It appears Spielberg and Lucas were not impressed, and when she realised she wasn't being lauded, she stopped clapping.

        • How many times does he say ‘I hate Nazis’? Almost as tho an agenda is being pushed lol

It’s much better than Crystal Skull. Not surprised there’s people moaning about a women been involved though. Didn’t hear the same complaints about Shia LaBouf

    • +1

If they included it, they'd have to pay people $14.99 instead.

  • eetswah by brah

  • +2

Yeah okay I'll buy it. It's nice to have a few movies always available on your devices. I got all the Harry Potter movies on iTunes/Apple TV for free in an old deal, this will be nice to add to them.

  • +3

Just remember that buying digital doesn't mean you actually own anything.

    • A slight clarification: buying an MP3 or AAC or M4A file (digital formats) does mean you own it, and in some jurisdictions even re-sell it.

Apple says you can download purchased movies, and give instructions here. Does this not work in Australia?

Or Free at 1337x DOT to

If you need Apple to exist or a subscription to access your Digital Paid Product then technically you don't own it, you're renting it until Fallout5 takes out Apple HQ.

If you don't own your subscription then piracy isn't stealing

    • This!!!

    • Thats true, and also I figure if I bought a film on DVD and bluray, why should I pay for it in 4k again!

    • +2

Deals like this are for simpletons

    • anything to justify piracy

  • +1

If you hated Shia Labeouf in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, wait till we give you Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the Dial of Destiny

In all serious, if you love any movie, buy a physical copy, not a digital copy.

  • Remux quality

Thanks op, bought this and got a free 30 day Apple TV trial.

Wait if I buy a physical copy and my house burns down, does that mean I don't own it anymore?

    • +3

Thats within your control, you can back it up, keep in fire proof box, keep extra copies around. If apple decide to delete it then youve paid for nothing. It has happened.

    • You own ashes

    • +2

Yes, that’s how physical matter works. But if my house burns down, my insurance company buys me a new copy. If a digital storefront goes bust or loses a license, no one is buying you anything. I’d rather bet on a fire extinguisher than a 'Terms of Service' update
