These are too fat, very annoying to wear.

    • Some like it fat, hence the whole G-Shock thing, and not to mention fashion watches.

Agreed. Slimmer is better. just because we couldn't cram the tech into the area 50 years ago doesn't mean we need to keep these fat ass watches.

    • Never seen this model, looks pretty entry level without the cult status. Can recommend AE1200/1300/1500 for around $40-50.

A bit more than the standard price of this will get you a 90s G-Shock (DW-5900/1600).

Silver AE1200 is an unreal watch. I rock an F-91W daily but for more professional settings I whip out the 1200.

        • Yeah those are all iconic, all the YouTubers have driven up the prices over the years. Should all last you a lifetime just change the batteries yourself for a buck. I got the a158 and calculator watches for nostalgia. Still prefer the world time one (A500WA-1DF), a bit bigger.

I should have kept an f91w/f105w when they were like $26/33 but wouldn't end up wearing when there are better watches sitting around. Great beaters though.

          • @G-Shock: They're not 10 year battery versions are they?

            • @Punkboy: Some are but doesn't worry me either way.

              • @G-Shock: Are 10 year battery replacements also diy?

                • @Punkboy: Sure, nothing specials not solar.
                  I haven't had any for 10y yet..

                  • @G-Shock: Thanks, I had no idea, I thought they were something special. Apparently most just use CR2025 battery. I have one nudging 7 years.

  • 3 grey/black left at $50.
