[Hack] 800 Free Qantas FF Points via Qantas Car Insurance/Wellbeing Rewards @ Qantas Insurance

1712

Friends, I have a neat way to get 800 Qantas frequent flyer points using the wellbeing rewards app which only costs you your time.

  1. Sign up to a Qantas car insurance policy, with a starting/payment date in the future. Ensure your QFF is linked.
  2. Even though the insurance date begins in the future, the bonus points on the Qantas Wellbeing app for car related items is unlocked.
  3. Complete all the ones you can which should add up to 800 points and wait for the points to hit your QFF account, usually the next day.
  4. Cancel your car insurance policy before the insurance starts and before making a payment.
  5. Enjoy your 800 points.

Q&A

Is this worth my time?
This is purely for the committed bargain pursuement enjoyers and point accumulator aficionados.

Won’t they take the points back?
Alan Joyce’s goons have yet to cancel my account or take the points back. I have only done this twice, I’m sure if you abuse it they might.

What will you do with your 800 points?
Probably become financially independent, retire on a nice island somewhere, start a cult.

What 5 albums would you take with you to that island?
5 copies of Shrek 2: The Motion Picture Soundtrack

Please direct any further questions and calls for Albo’s resignation for allowing this loophole to happen on his watch to @jv

Will this get me into the Captains Lounge?

    • -8

Joke doesn't hit when you don't know what lounge you are talking about "Chairman's"

  • +34

No way I can be arsed, but love that Q&A

  • +5

Hey @JV, is Albo personally aware of this loophole, or is this his bold new cost-of-living relief package?

    • +4

I heard the coalition are back together again after a nasty break up. How long will this episode last?

      • +4

Albo called them MAFS but I think Love Island for ugly people is more like it.

        • You have my upvote

        • If it's Love Island can we cull them like dingoes?

          • +1

@King Steuart: Nah, they will all just die from STDs.

            • +1

@try2bhelpful: Shagging on their desks, it's more like an Office x Love Island spinoff - "Parliament Love".

Keep away from Bruce Lehrmann though!

              • -2

@Big L: Barnaby Joyce going on about how single sex marriage was bad for his girls then he schtupped the help, got her pregnant, then abandoned his old family for a younger model with a boy child. Ya can’t make this stuff up.

OMG Lehrmann. The sense of entitlement there is unbelievable. Don’t get me started on Reynolds either. Just wrong on so many levels.

  • Are payment details required when signing up?

    • Yes

      • We shouldn't be charged as long as we cancel before the start dates.

        • You can just used an empty prepaid card or a lockable card so the payment can't be taken.

Have read worse Hack posts - 7/10 from me. Well done

Thanks dad I just want to make you proud

  • With this setp:
    2. Even though the insurance date begins in the future, the bonus points on the Qantas Wellbeing app for car related items is unlocked.
Are we referring to the 'Check-Up' tab of the Wellbeing app under 'Car Safety', tasks such as - Tyre Pressure Check, Brake Check, Service Check etc?
Or a different set of tasks that appear when you take out car insurance and can be completed for the 800 points?

    • Yes those ones. Instead of only been a token amount of points they will be 100-300 each

    • So if you have already completed those recently and got the pittance of points for them, you won't be able to sign up and complete them again after taking out this policy?

      • Worked for me

      • +2

This is exactly what I have - Mine were all completed already!
Oh well I'll cancel the policy (would have been good to know beforehand)

Note sure how… but someone should edit the description of the deal to add this in there.

Edit.. Ughhh just tried to cancel it online and it states
"You’ll need to speak with one of our friendly team members to cancel your policy."
        Annoyance ;-/

Someone will 100% abuse this now.

    Loophole closing in 3….2….1

    • +1

Imagine getting slapped with a red flag with any insurance company for abusing this. Remember the question that asks whether you've ever been refused insurance or been convicted of fraud?

  • Alan Joyce has left the building.

  • +5

Isn't this a good way to get your QFF account banned?

    • "minor downside risk, minor upside potential"

  • terrible guide, if you've already completed car related check ups, you cant re-do it.
you now also have to call them directly to cancel your insurance

    • -1

Why do people always say “call them directly”? Is there even an option to make a phone call indirectly? Can i collect-call qantas to make them pay for my stupid questions?

      • Is there even an option to make a phone call indirectly?

You tell AI and it will do it for you

  • how many times to do this to get a business class upgrade?

    • Probably around 90 times

  • +2

    not sure id risk it

  • +1

+1 for the effort but I would not go into the hassle of doing it.

  • +5

I dont get out of bed for at least 1000 QFF points

    But I respect the hustle

    • +1

You can literally do this first thing in the morning before getting out of bed.

    • yeah too much hustle for roughly $3.5

  • how much is it worth

  • +5

Most ozbargain thing I've seen in 2026 so far - props!

  • only have 150 points

  • +5

Hmmm does this not reduce your credit rating by cancelling contract under insurance…. Don't do it just for mere 800 QQF points… In fact even those special loophole paying termination fee on mobile contracts might also affect your credit rating

    • +1

      No it doesn't

      • Accounts just as Afterpay, Early termination of contracts including late install payments of your credit card or loan all contribute your credit rating.

A mere 800 QFF points hack by cancelling is not worth any risk IMO

In what way it does not?

The Credit Rating Impact (The Hidden Inquiry)

If someone does this "hack" three or four times a year with different insurers, their credit report starts looking like a Christmas tree—full of inquiries. Frequent inquiries are one of the fastest ways to drop your score.

If you sign up and cancel during the "cooling-off period" just to keep points, you are flagged in their system as a high-churn customer.

The next time you actually need insurance (for a car or home), they may simply refuse to cover you, or they’ll hike your premium

        • In what way it does not?

Because early termination of contracts is not reported to credit agencies.

          • -1

@spaceflight: Ok you do you. But you have a record on their system you previously applied. You can get blacklisted and insurers share databases these days.

Is it worth 800 QFF which is nothing? Up to the individual

The funniest part is that 800 Qantas points is literally the equivalent of buying a toaster and getting a $2 discount. People are risking a decade of credit history for the price of a ham sandwich.

  • Its effort but if your really need the points sure

  • -1

Points will only be awarded to the primary policyholder after the policy has been held for 60 continuous days.

    • That’s for the promotion points. The 800 points come through from wellbeing app and within a day or two of doing them

  • -1

You shouldn't post things like this because some moron on here will create 100 accounts to abuse it and they end up shutting it down.

    • And bad things will happen to them

      • People will do what they can to score a bargain until is all drained and turns into thin air, that's the nature's call. You can't stop them, however yes bad things will happen, but who is to blame?

  • Do I need to have a car?

    • Do you feel generous and want to insure someone else's car?

  • +1

I believe this relates to the check-ups in the Qantas Wellbeing App and is not connected to Qantas Car Insurance. Most people who have installed the app would have already completed these check-ups, so there is likely no need to spend time signing up for the car insurance.

    • So these check-ups give you QFF points?

    • If you complete the check-ups without having Qantas insurance of some kind, the points are miniscule (around 1/10th of those gained when having an insurance product).

  • Nice work but tbh you lost me at the first point.

  • Somehow Qantas comp insurance is cheaper for me than every other provider I've done a quote with so this works out haha
