The price of this game sure dropped fast.

Its been 4 months since it was released. I'd argue that it is extremely standard for most AAA games to hit $60 by this point.

      • Its at $40

        • -1

Post was updated after my comment, but the sentiment still holds.

          • @Darkvolcos: Black ops 7 cheapest was 69 going off ozbargain this is already 40

            • @Jklaro: Okay? Not sure what youre arguing against and negging for. I just explained the trend for AAA games these days.

Btw BO7 came out a month later and that $69 price was a week after it came out. It was then $59 again in December according to CCC. The game was terrible so people probably didnt bother posting any more deals for it.

    • Might drop faster if counting the second-hand market, if this game doesn’t have any bonuses for buying a brand new copy.

  • The price at Amazon AU is now $49 for both PS5 and XBX. Cheaper than even Big W now. Is that possibly the cheapest ever?.

    • You're not wrong. I'll update pricing. Does look like ATL (excluding EB) now :)

      • This must be the ATL which wasn't a pricing error. $49 is a good deal. Thanks OP.

The only problem now is you need Amazon Prime to get free delivery as the price is now under $59.

    $40 at Target?

    • +1

You're right. It is $40 at Target. So much for Amazon AU being the ATL right now.

  • Matched JB I guess, JB has phantom edition for $64

BF6 is the game the nudged me back to PC gaming after years of absence.

Initially bought it for PS5, just for the campaign (which was OK-ish), but then got into multiplayer, and ps5 controller is just not cutting it, despite all the reduced bloom and aim assist baked into the game.

Then bough a copy on Steam and while there was some period of adjustment back to kbd & mouse, I feel a lot more coordinated now.

    • Have you tried our lord and saviour, the DualSense gyroscope?

      • No, but by the sound of it you can't use both gyro & the right stick at the same time?

      • Ok, just gave it a shot, and it's… weird. Sure there's some getting used to it, but what I find annoying is the "drift" – there's a gradual shift in where the horizontal "centre" of the viewing area is – say in shooting range, you stand facing the targets, point and shoot a few times and at some point you find that in order to keep pointing straight you need to turn the controller to the right.

    • Guess what. There is kb and mouse support for the PS5.

      • Xbox too.

      • in other news, water is wet

        • Weird comment. Very few PS5 games support m+kb.

          • @hustlebwnz: It's quite obvious it supports mkb from the settings screen.

However actually using mkb w ps5 and tv is another matter - the ergonomics of TV setup makes it rather awkward. Perhaps something like a separate couch compatible desk is needed. Too hard basket.

HODLing for PC version discount. I couldnt bring myself to pay $110+ at release and just got EA Play Pro for a month. Got the FOMO out of my system but now I'm stuck on dedsec f2p.

    • haha yeah I had pulled the trigger, tbh was worth it.

worth $20 now atleast.. FPS like BF and COD drop in value fast before a new instalment comes out end of the year.

    • +1

That was fast as this game title was only released 4 months ago.

    • There were nearly 5 years between Battlefield releases…

The massive drop of active Steam user-base have anything to do with this?

    • $110 on steam :(

Can anyone confirm all the online criticisms? Small maps, barely any vehicles or weapons like previous iterations?

      • Depends on the mode. Large modes have jets/helis/tenks et, tho not sure how that compares to 2042

      • +1

A bunch of reviews out there can, but since you're being lazy the whole map size thing was mainly morons parroting Youtube douchebags, there's actual comparisons out there that show the sizes are comparable to previous games.

There's heaps of weapons, the bigger issue was probably gun nerds crying that their favourite one wasn't there, and they'll likely add new guns each season.

There's what…… 6 land vehicles and 4 air, another helicopter is coming next season, and jetskis are apparently in Season 3.

So yeah, it's mostly peoples overly inflated expectations that are the issue, and if they didn't slowly add content people would just whinge that it's getting boring because there's nothing new. There's no pleasing most gamers.

        • Didn’t neg you, but you also missed the fact that some of us have played more matches against bots than humans due to the idiotic matchmaking process that breaks up good lobbies after one game.

          • @sw00p: That's probably a time of day and mode problem or having cross play off. I only play conquest with cross play on and the only time I ever get lobbies start with bots it's because match making broke and put me in a PS5 lobby that doesn't fill. Also not new to the game, was like that in 2042.

I hate disbanding lobbies too. It's ridiculous, I play the same maps over and over because it's a new server every time with no rotation, if I look up my stats, in 183 matches I've played Siege of Cairo just 10 times! Meanwhile I've had Liberation Peak 30 times.

      • I played it regularly after launch. I didn't have an issue with the maps and vehicles but the TTK (Time To Kill) seems absurd. I prefer Hardcore servers for that reason but the server browser is next-to-useless so I was railroaded into vanilla servers.

I have since picked up ARC Raiders and honestly, this is the first time I've even thought about BF since finding ARC.

      • I think the online criticisms are a bit ridiculous. Weapons are fine, plenty to choose from, vehicles fine, maps probably geared a bit more towards infantry but a good tank or heli pilot is still going to be very good, map size is a non issue. Weapon levelling is a bit of a pain in that it's much longer than previous titles.

Yes, a massive drop in Steam users would trigger a console price drop………….

Or they're just getting people too cheap for a full priced game on-board ready for season 2 which is due to start soon.

  • It is the time period, back to school, back to work
