• Valid for GP consults for medical advice, medical certificates, prescriptions, and referrals

    i think telehealth is much needed option when you need a sick note. This is not even about being able to call a sickie after last nights bender. Sometimes you're just have that cold or flu that just needs bed rest and we all know the GP is just going to give you Panadol and send you home. Really is not benefiting anyone to crawl out of bed to go to the GP and risk passing on the virus to everyone else there just to satisfy the requirements of your distrustful tosser of a boss/company.

  Anyone paying for a Dr’s cert for a general sickday or 2 is nuts. Can literally get a stat dec done on the myGov website for free and it takes seconds… an employer legally must accept a stat dec, its a fairwork requirement.

  You're still paying, but through the tax system. Hola Health charges the government more than $180 for many of the consultations, please choose a cheaper free service like 13HEALTH if it's available in your location.

  For many people, getting the same doctor time after time, so you don't have to recite your entire health history time after time, along with your allergies and medicines that you had a bad reaction to. And localised knowledge of what diseases are currently prevalent in your local area, and which specialists are known as good in your area.

  And of course, knowing through your local circle of friends that your doctor has a good reputation. You'll likely get a different doctor each time with telehealth, and you have no idea about their skill level.

  And there's a huge number of things telehealth can't do, like use a stethoscope, check if a sore ankle is a sprain or a fracture, spot skin cancers, and so on.

  I don't quite understand why these are ok to post, but if it was a free flu vax that would be removed (based on the last times posts about flu vaccinations have been tried - ie in the last 12 months), even though the rule listed in that case, about not being able to advertise pharmacy that needs a prescription no longer applies. That rule was removed long ago from flu vax, it no longer needs prescription
