I guess it's not bad for the current market. But still feel weird about the fact I've gotten 1TB versions for cheaper before.

    • +2

just don't buy. syndicate's only fear is that all people stop buying…

  • Good for a compact retrogaming build

  • +3

Sucks prices went up, you could get 7400MB/s at this price in the past

    This is just sad tbh

    • +5

Absolutely, a little over 6 months ago you could get a 1TB WD Blue SN580 for $69 or 2TB for $149 … Now it's more expensive for a no name brand that's half the size -.-'

      • +3

        With half the TBW too.

      • Those days are long gone my man,

This is a good price :) crazy but it is

Used Biwin before, freakin high temp for an SSD tho…

    • +3

Use aftermarket heat sink and thermal paste.

    • FOR EVERYONE WHO GAVE ME A NEGATIVE .. The price has now jumped from $74 to now $149 … :) putting it inline with all the other 500GB nvme SSD drives on the market

  • Some Rams were cheap previously due to Chinese gov subsidies in exchange for market share. And US and Korea try to stop that. Now AI who are funded by these chip makers buy all the chips.

Don't think they keep the promise for cheap DDR5 as the price now has been doubled.

The average 1TB price is now $160 (in USD?). Feel bad for people still stuck under 1TB in 2026 unless for particular purposes.

    • have a few laptops with 256GB was going to upgrade but with current SSD prices on 1TB think i will just free u
      space and delete garbage.

      • There will be some decent deals around hopefully. It's maybe okay to live in 2010s for a while. We will see if China can break through the monopoly.

  • code doesnt work

512 feels almost like a waste of a slot.. Ah maybe I just need to adjust my perspective.

    • it’s because we got used to 1TB as the go to and if on special got change from $100, feel like a waste of my time upgrading from 256 to just 512.

      • Yeah fr. Time, money and effort spent doesn't feel worth it.

  • Anyone remember when PC parts used to decline in price? Yeah! Me neither.

  • HODL….China will flood market with new DDR5 and nand soon

    • Source?

Latest news has the Chinese (FAB) DDR5 maker switching and doing the exact same thing as Micron, Hynx and Samsung. Prioritizing corporations and signing billion dollar deals.

I guess at the end of the day they want to make as much money as possible like the others. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED! The only thing that will save us is if the AI bubble comes crashing down

      • +1

Need to stop the AI slop.

    • US and Korea won't allow

Is this Opal compliant or have they just hijacked a security standard and included it in its name?

Kinda like a company advertising “Black Bulletproof Vest” when it’s really a puffer vest and “bulletproof” is their product name.

    Very misleading tsk tsk

    • Opal is like Kingston… Securing wafers and rebranding (SKHynx, Samsung, Mcron, CXMT and YMTC) chips with their logo. They do way more manufacturing in house VS other RAM and newsflash brands.. The end result is a more reliable product as they have more control over it.

      • Opal is a specification that covers things like encryption.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opal_Storage_Specification

Just wondering why they stole the name of a drive security specification that’s been around since 2009

My point is, with naming like this, it implies that they are Opal compliant.

CHINA LOL thats what they are known for.
