Was looking around for a spare external monitor with battery 7800mah that lasts about 3-4 hours and found a cracking bargain
ROG Strix XG16AHPE Portable 144Hz Gaming Monitor — 16 inch (15.6 inch viewable) FHD (1920 x 1080), 144 Hz, IPS panel, NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, non-glare, built-in 7800 mAh battery, fold-out kickstand, USB Type-C, micro HDMI, embedded ESS amplifier and ROG sleeve.
These are roughly around $700 dollars elsewhere and listed as $749 RRP on JW Computers, Mwave have these for $690 also
To get this 65% off at $269, worth a punt I reckon

Some of the user reviews look concerning regarding its quality.

  • Sounds like a good deal but this product makes no sense to me… Normally you'd want to maximize battery life with devices like this, but the monitor is designed with gaming specs which drains battery like crazy.

Like having a diet coke to go with you king size mars bar.

  • good price for pointless unless you really want that 144hz portability

Each to their own. In my IT role, it’s a brilliant battery-powered monitor for data centre crash carts and projects. Between all my uni studies and being able to hook up a PS5 or Switch for a few hours anywhere I want, it’s exactly what I was after. The 3–5 hour battery life is more than enough for my daily workflow and gaming.

Thanks heaps OP finally bit the bullet was planning to buy one previously but at this price its a steal. As others mentioned here, if you're not expecting hours 3-4 hours or have access to a charger this is perfect! I'll be using it on my flights while I game. Doubles as a second screen when working away from home

  • Seems ok when it has an inbuilt battery not draining the device

So play 10 minutes of warzone on the train before laptop runs out of juice?

  • Dunno if this makes any sense but can it still be powered up while charging from 0% battery?

  • reviews say battery lasts 3hrs @ 144hz refresh rate
2hrs of screen power with just 1 hour fast charging

why not something like this that's cheaper slightly better spec'd (no battery though)

    • Thanks for the reco. Next time you post something like that, remove everything in the link that comes after and including the "?" - it's unnecessary fluff.

      • sorry. thank you.

    • For one it doesn't have a battery

using this rn from amazon that they gave me for free cuz the item was considered lost in post but managed to be delivered to me in months
As low profile secondary monitor that's connected to usb outlet 24/7 & good color production, it's definitely worth it at $269.

It does work for steam deck without any usb outlet connected to monitor if anyone asks

  • I was almost going to buy this as I would 100% use for work. I'm glad I read reviews first. Majority 1 star reviews, charging issues, screen not turning on issues and DOA reports.

    • You made the right choice, got mine on Friday and it was DOA. I have not been able to get it turn on or do anything. Now I have the hassle of going through the RMA process…

      • Damn, was so close to getting it.
