🧧 Back with a slightly reworked deal and to hop on the Lunar New Year sales bandwagon after you guys cleaned us out of the last of our 2025 RAM & GPU inventory with out last offer.

GPU & RAM prices continue to climb, but with a couple of small tweaks we've managed to hit the same price point for the same core combo (7800X3D / 5070 Ti / 32G DDR5 EXPO / 1TB Gen4 NVMe) albeit with a slightly different case & PSU to make it still possible. Some might even prefer the larger case with more RGB bling but if you want the original PSU and chassis options they're available too. As of time of posting, $487ish dollars below PCPP / DIY pricing. Internally taking bets on whether or not that number is over $500 by the time the deal sells out. We've already been notified of a 5-10% price hike on GPUs that has come into effect since purchasing the lot we're offering this deal so next month's deal (if can even get hands on the RAM it needs to build them!) will almost certainly be more expensive again.

On top of that, we've been given a small batch of Intel CPUs to clear which make for great workstation builds without a GPU, or slap a GPU in of your own and doubles as a very a capable gaming PC. I hear we're losing a bunch of those ones, so grab'em while they're hot.

We're full steam ahead on builds with the last of the previous deal slated to be completed this week, average time from order to dispatch ~ 4-7 days. A small number of units already pre-built assembled for those who want something immediately, get in quick and don't make any alterations to the config.

⚠️ The BYO RAM option.

We couldn't help but notice a ton of requests for this as of late. We've decided (against the protest of many in our customer support and warranty departments) to give this a try. There are serious warranty and after-sales support implications that we have to disclaim loud and clear, the short version being as follows;

Systems ordered without RAM are built and tested using a temporary memory kit for QA and burn-in, then dispatched without RAM installed. Since RAM is one of the most common causes of issues that lead to support and warranty requests, using your own kit may limit our ability to provide remote troubleshooting and warranty support until your RAM has been reasonably ruled out as the source of any fault.

The PC will not function until a suitable, compatible RAM kit is installed. By choosing to supply your own RAM, we do not guarantee system stability or performance with your selected memory, nor do we guarantee stability and functionality with any overclock profile or settings of any kind (EXPO or XMP) in instances of customer-BYO RAM, as it has not undergone our standard QA and burn-in testing procedures.

Full disclaimers and conditions are viewable on the website; the link appears when the BYO option is selected on the product page.

We have to stress that this is an option for those who know what they're doing and accept the implications. We'd rather lose a sale up front with overly scary disclaimers than fall short of a customer's after-sales support and service expectations when we're unable to support a product that's being negatively affected by a component we never tested or provided.

⏱️ Warranty

All systems come with a 3-year RTB (return-to-base) warranty as standard, plus up to 5 years total coverage on parts where the manufacturer’s warranty exceeds the initial 3-year period (e.g., RAM, SSD, PSU).

Every prebuild post so far has had a comment section filled with "can you do a BYO GPU deal" and here it is. If you all don't jump on this now…

    • +5

You're wrong again, now they're gonna complain that it's an Intel build. "ooooo, why it isn't byo gpu 7800X3D variant". Nag, nag, nag, everyday is a good day to nag! ♥️

      • +1

        literally this, lmao.

      • +2

When they're selling so poorly our product manager basically says we can clear them a $0 cost basis for a promo deal, we'll gladly do a 7800X3D BYO deal 😝

Until then though, even in gaming the CPU is rarely the bottleneck and if it is, you're already well over 100FPS anyway.

Play at 1440p and the 245K is gonna hit ~ 95% of the frame rate of the 7800x3D in most games. At current market prices, even before the massive discount we're offering on it here, it's actually pretty competitive.

I would jump on a BYO GPU deal if it had an AMD CPU

    • +2

Our AMD build in this post has the option to go BYO on the GPU as did our last few ozbargain deals! Although a portion of the overall discount is baked in to the GPU so while it's still a good deal, it's less of an outright steal.

The Intel 245K isn't a bad product, just was launched at a bad price. Launched @ $539 which was 💩, but now retails around $379 which is actually pretty competitive, especially with it's 14 threads for multi-tasking.

In this BYO build we're offering it in, it's basically buy the rest of the PC get the CPU free, so hard to argue with that 😅

  • Serious question - why wouldn’t most people get this deal - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/947124 instead ? It has better CPU, slightly better GPU, and better RAM and better cooling system and in my opinion a better case. All for extra $200ish bucks. Am I missing something ? Unless you’re trying to save every dollar then obviously this deal is better but if that’s the case why are you looking at $3k+ PCs?

    • It's a good deal too while their stock lasts, I suspect they're inventory is a little older than ours which gives them a bit of a cost advantage. That said, even with the slightly higher spec, the ROI from $ to gaming performance is probably still slightly in our favour, especially where the GPU is the bottleneck.

      Price difference $260 (~8.2%)
      9800X3D vs 7800X3D relative performance @ 1440p ~ 2.8% TPU 14 Game Avg
The slightly lower latency RAM and slightly beefier cooler on the 5070Ti might equate to ~1-2% more but the X3D CPUs are not as sensitive to DRAM latency and 2 minutes to tuning in Afterburner will pretty reliably get you the same clock speeds with the Shadow OC as the Zotac Apocalypse runs.

Again, their deal is pretty sweet while it lasts, but all that is to say it's comparable per dollar performance wise. Aesthetically, it's much more subjective, and if / when they eventually sell out of that lower cost stock our deal might be even more appealing. It's a tough market at the moment! It's usually the other way around but at the moment who ever has the oldest stock laying around has a huge cost advantage!
