Please improve the title. I got excited for a moment

The T&C's state that it is only to be used on Eligable Samsung Galaxy Mobile Phones.

  • I guess that means the A37 & A57 won't be out until the last week of the month.

    • Two down votes?
      Do people know something?
Last I read was "likely in the first two weeks of February", but can you pre-order something that is already out?

Ergo, is it fair to assume, JBhifi won't be expecting new Samsung phones before then?

      • -1

This is why downvoters should be shown. Now downvoters will start downvoting me ;)

        • -3

Who cares about down votes, they mean nothing?

          • +7

@Spendmore: Comments get hidden, people will start targerting particular folks after a few sets of downvotes and all thier comments in the future will be prone to downvotes etc. Also people who comment here are humans, pretty sure many would feel happy if you upvote them when they contribute, and feel sad when they are downvoted for no reason. Some care some dont.

            • -3

@John Doh: I hope people aren't that fragile that a neg from some random unknown person affects them, if it does then negs are the least of their worries.

              • +1

@Spendmore: It will definitely not cause them mental break down. Its just as simple as would you hold a door for the person behind you kind of thing. Its just ethics.

          • @Spendmore: Not wanting to spam you here, but to me it's just irksome. Sometimes downvoting is useful, if someone has posted something incorrect, it needs explaining why though.
But a lot of the downvoting makes no sense - someone asks a question and gets downvoted - why?
And that's the main irritation for me, if there is something wrong with someone's comment (if it's not obvious) why not post an explanatory reply and enlighten the OP and benefit the whole OzB community?
Silvion's comment before mine has also been downvoted with no explanation - is he wrong? Who knows? If the T&Cs state what he says they do, then is there a workaround that the downvoters know? It would be helpful if they informed us instead of just clicking a red neg button.

Six hours after my post, I think this promotion might be aimed at the S26 Ultra, but I haven't seen any mention of which upcoming phones will be included so I'm just guessing - but if Silvion's claim is incorrect as the negs might suggest, then I can't see why I would then be negged for mentioning phones that are not the S26 Ultra.

So negging without explanation can cause quite a bit of confusion.

Though that's probably what anonymous neggers wnat to do anyway - annoy and confuse people. They want to benefit from others' kindness in sharing but not wanting to contribute anything useful themselves.

            • +2

@sam buster: I agree with a lot of what you say, the problem is as you have mentioned the negging for alternative reasons such as not liking the person making the comment, ps5/ xbox sx fanboys negging each other etc has devalued the voting to a point where now it means little. Hence I dont pay much interest in the votes.

    • cannot be used in conjunction with any other coupon.

I wouldn't bother if you are intending to use for a new S26 etc, will be much better deals.

        will be

        currently are

@BepisCola: I mean, unless Samsung goes completely against all their other launches for the past however long and the general expectations of the public for prices of the launch of new electronic products in general, it's a pretty safe bet. Stuff is cheaper at launch. Then it goes back up to RRP for a bit, then they start having periodic discounts to milk the last of the potential customers. This is standard behaviour now, and as someone on OZB you should probably know this by now.

          • @BepisCola: Explaining the difference between two currently existing phrases wasn't too taxing on my crystal ball…

      • Such as when the real pre-release deals are on.
JB crack down more these days regarding stacking vouchers although some people get away with it at the start before they've trained the staff.

  • Is the S27 coming ?

    • +3

      S26 Ultra

    • +5

      Yes next year.

  • +1

Which retailers still have low ETC for phone plans? Im sure there will be plenty of s26 plans offered through jb, gerry, gg's, where can you still get a decent deal through the cancellation method?

  • +2

Is it better to buy galaxy phones on release from retail shops or samsung directly? My impression is that samsung direct normally has codes which can stack, hence it's potentially better discount?

    • You would be correct, has been better on launch through Samsung directly every other year

  • Maybe not the right thread, but do Samsung typically run out the old models cheap(ish)? Will we see S25 Ultra drop significantly?

I'm in need of a new phone and tossing up an S25 Ultra if there is some runout pricing, or take advantage of stacked discounts for a new S26.

    • +4

Theres usually some crazy stacking discounts to be had with new Samsung products, ironically making the cheapest time to buy their products when they are released lol

    • In the past with the stacked discounts it has been similar prices in the past in buying the new release compared to buying new the previous years model

  • I assume there will be a separate pre-order bonus/window for the foldables as they release later in the year?

  • +1

Where does it show you're getting the $100?

    • HN and JB right now: Samsung is releasing a new phone, lets take the opportunity to collect thier email ids and spam them. They will buy on the samsung site anyway with better stacks.

  • if you sign up directly with samsung you will get $200 voucher but must use within 72 hours of preorder other wise it is $50 like the page shows.

    • However I saw something like this in the email.

Eco-Voucher is redeemable on selected Galaxy Tablets, Watches, Buds, Ring and Accessories (“eligible Eco-Voucher Devices & Accessories”).

      Seems phones are excluded.

    • I signed up directly with Samsung and did not receive $200 voucher, neither did I receive a $50 voucher as yet. I bought directly from Samsung a couple of times on the past but it seems the last few promotions I've missed out on the vouchers for 'bar' phones and accessories. The only vouchers have been for tablets and foldables, neither of which I want.

      • $200 (first 72 hours) / $50 (> 72 hours) voucher code is generic - GALAXYAI. Doesn't discount the price of the phone though. Only for Tablets, Watches, Buds, Ring and Accessories.

      • +3

Dont worry its universal code GALAXYAI for $200/$50 voucher

  • +1

Any idea when will we recieve this $100 jbhifi voucher

    • Did you receive your code yet?

      • No..not from jbhifi and neither from harveynorman..i think we will recieve near or during launch event

        • Just wait for the proper deals like every other year.

  • +1

How do I actually pre register? I can't see any link to click or place to enter my email?

    • That's funny. I can't see where on that link either. I'm fairly sure there was something on that page earlier because I double-checked my Perks email address.

      EDIT:
It takes a minute to load, which is why we are probably missing it.
Underneath the big red countdown timer is a section titled in bold, AN EXCITING NEW GALAXY AWAITS. At the bottom of that section is an empty text box for your emil address and below that a black banner saying "Pre-register Now"

If you have previously signed up for Perks and not unsubscribed from spammed offers and newletters, you should have an email with links in anyway. Somewhat ironic that they email you a promotion that requires you sending them the email address they already have, but I'm sure it makes sense to somebody, somewhere.

    • They took the form down as it was throwing an error on pressing "submit". Poor QA.

      • The section is back.
        But I don't know if it's working.

    • You have to log into JB Hifi first, you'll see a box to enter your email address to pre-register your interest.

Registered for 13 days of spam

    • Yeah the pricks email every day..

  • S26 ultra comes with Exinos or snap dragon?

Samsung, Google, Apple phones could steain your eyes. Unlike some chinese brand phones which support up to over 3000Hz (ieee recommendation), these phones from Samsung, Google, and Apple support only 480Hz PWM (pulse width modulation), whoch could be critical when you use phones in relative low brightness.

  • An error occurred when submitting. Please try again later.

    could steain your eyes.

What does that mean..? I'm sure Samsung screens are probably the best (and supply Apple too).

  • Can anyone chime in on how much of a discount/ best stacking from previous years?like direct with Samsung or via jb? Cheers

    • Do a search

  • Has anyone already recieved the coupons? I have opted for Marketing emails. Havent got any codes yet.

    • The coupon is to use on the pre-order of the new S26, which will be announced tomorrow. It is not a generic voucher to spend on anything.

      • Yes, I'm aware, has anyone recd the coupon yet? I did use a similar coupon for s25 launch

  • I am trying to do this and there's straight up no box where you can register?

  • How / where does one "preregister interest" on the linked page? Can't spot any prompts…

  • Announcement coming 5am 26th Feb Sydney time

  • The actual unboxing video is already out on YouTube
