Sophos Home Antivirus Licence 35% off (via Website Bug): 1yr $48.74, 2yr $77.99, 3yr $113.74) @ Sophos

First time post, hope it's good enough.

Found this bug while buying AV for an elderly family member. They originally had 25% off but a popup came up for an extra 10% off if selected within 10 mins, and when you accept it pops up saying the code is for a development environment only. Seems like whoever was testing this out stuffed it up and it's running on their production site instead. Either way the discount works and takes it from 25% off to 35% off on all their home licences (1-3 year subscription).

I've used Sophos in the past because they're well-known in the IT field and their software is hands-off (no ads, no constant popups, just runs quietly in the background). A far cry from your Nortons and your McAfees. Anyway, try if you want.

Steps to obtain:

  1. Click link
  2. Go to site and select a subscription length
  3. Start filling in details then wait for a popup.
  4. Accept the popup and the page will refresh with 35% off instead of 25%
  5. Pay, install, start using

  • I remember using Sophos Home Premium several years ago when they launched it. (They must have had 12 months free or something like that). Very nice cloud dashboard from memory. That said, I don't know how well it rates these days, as there does not seem to be many reviews. Their Business and Enterprise products are different.

Yeah I been using this for prob 5 or so years now
No complaints. The Reddit subreddit is good when I had an issue when it was slowing my internet down as it was scanning all traffic

    People still buy antivirus?

    • +2

      Yes.

Snoots, why? Windows Defender is rated highly in the tests (when i looked at them years ago). There's no reason to buy AV software for at least 10 years.

Windows Defender/Security is good. Bitdefender and Norton are the most likely paid solutions that the average Australian will be exposed to. They are also good. Norton is so, so good though, they will even keep reminding you just how good they are by charging your credit card ad infinitum :)

        • May WD went to visit a weird ass island, then came home with a std, afterwards it tried to give std medication to its partner without approval, now it denied all connection to that island

Yeah and I don't really see a reason why… windows defender paired with ublock origin in the browser deals with everything these days.

Are we still buying AV in 2026?

    • +1

      Yes,

    • People still buying Anti Virus

Yes they are. Not everyone is a computer nerd.

There are more passive users out there than people who know what they are doing.

A good anti-virus suite will at least protect these people.

The only two I recommend are BitDefender & Kaspersky.

  • I've been using business one from sophos, trendmicro and norton but for personal PC, I would suggest norton as the others are SOO heavy.
Trendmicro titanium was more like blackbox with only minor customisation required, and worked fine but still hogs system resources
Sophos one was a kind of meh. heavy, reliant but may hard to deal with it if you have lack of IT security knowledge (In my case I have about 1-year experiences in using redhat, docker and synology system)
norton was also blackbox, totally usable as is but still pricy for personal usage IMO.

  • Thought Sophos is for firewall. Never knew they had AV offerings

    • They did AV before firewall. Bought Astaro then Cyberoam for their firewall products.

      • Thank you. Intriguing history always with various firewalls constantly being sold around and forked

  • Have used Sophos for the past 7yrs. Not just brcause of AV tool but it has added features like web filtering for kids.
