🔄 IMPORTANT REBATE UPDATE – EFFECTIVE FROM 1 MAY 2026

From 1 May 2026, the federal battery rebate moves to a tiered structure based on battery size.

For a 41.93 kWh system:

  • Majority of capacity falls into the 15% rebate tier
  • Rebate value reduces significantly
  • The same system increases by up to $8,000

Nothing about the system changes – only the rebate does.

Waiting means paying more.

  • This Valentine's day, give your partner the joy of a 41.93kwh battery

    • Nothing says “I love you” like lower power bills for the next 10 years ❤️🔋

      • Possible need "love" tomorrow night

    • That's a lot of power to keep those adult toys charged up.

      • That's a lot of spark ⚡

  • “Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll get those diamonds you’ve always wanted…”

Now she’ll really be surprised when I gift her a 40kwh battery and inverter.

    • Shock of a lifetime

    • She'd probably prefer an ironing board cover.

    • The only shock involved is the power bill dropping. 😉

  • Still waiting on update after sharing required info as part of the last deal (recognising I also need full setup with panels and inverter)

    • Hi Shadowsfury,

Thanks for the follow-up – that’s completely fair.

Battery-only installs in solar-ready systems are generally quicker to process, whereas full solar + battery systems involve additional approvals and design work. That said, if you’ve already submitted the required info, it shouldn’t be sitting idle.

Please DM me your details and I’ll personally chase this up today to make sure you receive a proper update.

This Valentine’s promo is just for those trying to get a battery over the line with their loved ones - but that doesn’t mean existing enquiries get left behind.

      Appreciate your patience.

  • What 5kw 1P inverter is used? H1(G2)?

  • How much for a charger installation?

  • Ready to commit for 4 sites! PM Sent

  • Prices include gst?

  • Submitted details via the form but it just takes you back to the main page without confirmation, hope that means it was submitted.

    • Hi Unco,

If it went to our website afterwards then you submitted it. I will see if we can add a confirmation page. Thanks for the feedback. :)

  • i was quoted $12,133.00 for 8.075kW Solar system with 15kWh battery storage in Perth. Is this typical?

    • That’s generally within a normal range for WA, depending on the battery brand and inverter included.

For an ~8kW solar system with 15kWh storage, pricing typically lands somewhere in the $10k–$15k range installed.

The key things to check are the battery brand, warranty, whether it’s a hybrid inverter, and whether any switchboard upgrades or additional works are included.

If you’re comfortable sharing a private message with the brands and models, happy to give a more specific view. We’re Victorian-based so we can’t assist with installs in WA, but always happy to provide general guidance.

    • Bro I got 13.2kw panels a Sola X 10 KW inverter and a 30kWh battery installed for $9500 after Gov rebates in Perth

      • When did u do this and which company?

        I'm guessing its also VPP?

        • Hey bro I just tried to send you a PM with the details of my deal but I got a message saying you don't accept new conversations. If you are interested DM me and I'll reply to your message . Cheers bro

  • What sort of deal(s) could you do with panels + battery + inverter at different kw levels?

    • Great question.

We generally don’t run fixed “solar + battery” bundle deals because solar sizing varies significantly from house to house. Roof space, orientation, shading, switchboard capacity and current system setup all play a big role.

We also don’t want to recommend smaller systems if a property can support a larger, more efficient setup long term.

Solar pricing is usually more of a guide until we can complete a proper audit and review what you currently have. Once we assess the property, we can provide a tailored recommendation and accurate pricing.

If you’d like, feel free to share some basic details on our website and we can go from there. https://vicpowersavers.com.au/solar-panel-rebate-victoria/

  • Am I eligible for $500 discount if I submit form now to install both solar plus battery? Approx how much out of pocket after rebate for - 13kw panel and 10 kw + 42kw battery. Could you please let me know
    Thanks

    • Hi GreatBarrier,

The $500 Valentine’s allocation applies to battery installs on solar-ready properties.

For a full solar + battery setup (13kW panels with 10kW inverter + 41.93kWh battery), we’d need to review your property before confirming eligibility and out-of-pocket pricing.

Best next step is to fill in the form on our website https://vicpowersavers.com.au/solar-panel-rebate-victoria

  • Can you also add small solar to this one for a small roof? And maybe even an EV charger?

  • Hi Larsson,

Small solar can definitely be assessed depending on your roof layout - we’d just need to review the property.

We’re currently in discussions with a few EV charger brands and exploring installation options as well. We do not have a timeline yet.

Fill in the form on our website and I will get someone to contact you with more info. https://vicpowersavers.com.au/solar-panel-rebate-victoria

  • Exceptionally poor communication from this company. Get ready to answer every spam call for a few weeks, if you want to hear back from them.Check previous posts.

Lots of people reporting submitting details and not hearing anything back. But some have also gotten, and are happy with, what they've paid for.

Maybe you'll get lucky, but keep in mind rebates will be dropping substantially soon. Not a lot of time to be messed about.

    • Hi Elephant,

We respect that you’re sharing your personal experience.

To clarify, the previous campaign resulted in a large number of completed installs, and the majority of customers were successfully contacted and progressed.

In your case, we did attempt to contact you multiple times (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/17324966/redir) during the previous promotion but were unable to connect, and your property was confirmed to be outside our standard service area which does include metro and rural.

We acknowledge that experience wasn’t ideal for you, and we’ve since refined our processes to improve communication during high-volume campaigns.

      • Just to clarify: you didn't respond to my DMs about not having heard from you. There were no messages, texts, emails from your company. Just calls from suspected spam numbers, all unique, and a google of these numbers doesn't direct to a business. One of the spam calls 11 days after I DMd you. And, of course, all the other ozbargainers reporting not having heard from you.

I'm happy to leave it at that. I'm sure you'll get people happy to roll the dice, but I think it's important to let them know that they are gambling.

        • Hi Elephant,

I’m sorry again that your situation played out the way it did. We’re not hiding behind excuses - our first OzBargain promotion generated significantly more volume than we anticipated. As a small team, our systems were stretched and we experienced outages.

We did our best at the time, but it wasn’t enough. We acknowledged that publicly and have since strengthened our processes and systems to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

We’ve learned from it and moved forward.

          Regards,
          Victorian Power Savers

          • @Vic Power Savers: I had exactly the same scenario. Submitted the request, received the automated response, sent photos as requested and then no response from them.

I followed up and still no response.

    • I can confirm a little communication problems.
but the installation was fast and good.
I am very very satisfied with the result.
42kw battery installed in December to the existing 10kw panels. maximum satisfaction

      • Thank you so much for the honest feedback. 👏

We completely acknowledge that there were some communication hiccups along the way, and we truly appreciate your patience while we worked through them. That’s on us to keep improving.

Thanks again for trusting us with your install, and enjoy your new 42kWh battery system ⚡

  • How much on top for black out prevention per circuit?

    • Hi Jztilly,

      Blackout can range from $500-$1500.

Can you send me a private message, or fill in the form and discuss that with our sales team.

      Regards,

  • I am wanting to get battery upgrade in WA. Is there a site which lists the best company to deal with? There used to be solarquotes but I believe they are no longer impartial?

  • A lot of these companies don't have installers on staff and just sub contract out the actual work, so ymmv based upon who decides to take your installation job.

    • Hi Stefee,

I understand the concern - subcontracting can sound like a red flag if it’s not managed properly.

But it’s similar to the building industry in Australia. When you build a house, you sign with one builder - but they subcontract licensed plumbers, electricians, roofers and so on. That’s standard practice. What matters is who they use and how it’s managed.

We only use electricians we know and trust - licensed, CEC-accredited professionals we have ongoing working relationships with. We don’t rotate random crews based on availability.

Every install goes through technical assessment first, and the final approval isn’t ours - it’s done by an independent third-party inspector. They have the final call.

Edit: Importantly, the warranty is honoured by us. You’re not chasing individual subcontractors. You deal with Victorian Power Savers, and we stand behind the system and the workmanship.

      Regards,
      Victorian Power Savers

  • i recently ordered and am awaiting install. can i get the $500 off?

    • Hi Fox81,

Send me a private message and I will see what I can do.

      Regards,

  • Is this CQ6 battery or old EQ?

    • eq, I ordered one from them today

      • electricalmasters already offer CQ now, I guess this sale to clear their EQ stocks

        • To clarify further – we are not clearing old stock.

The EQ series is not discontinued and we will continue selling and installing it. It is a proven, widely deployed system in the Australian market.

The CQ6 is a newer platform that has only just been released. It is not yet widely installed in Australia, and like any new product entering the market, we need to properly test and evaluate it before rolling it out at scale.

We don’t currently hold CQ6 stock for that reason.

At this stage, the EQ remains our primary large-capacity system because it has a strong install history, known performance, and established compliance pathways.

When the CQ6 has been fully assessed and proven in local conditions, we will absolutely consider expanding into it.

This isn’t about clearing inventory – it’s about using products we trust and have real-world install experience with.

    • Good question.

The CQ6 and EQ series are both high-voltage modular lithium battery systems from Fox ESS. They are not “better vs worse” – they are different generations with different scaling and safety profiles.

      EQ4800 - Designed for residential
      - 4.66 kWh per module
      - Up to 9 modules per stack
      - Around 41–42 kWh max per tower
      - Proven, widely installed platform

CQ6 - Best for larger residential or small commercial setups
      - 5.99 kWh per module
      - 2 to 14 modules per stack
      - 11.98 kWh up to 83.86 kWh per tower

      In simple terms:

EQ is a mature, reliable system that has been widely deployed across Australia.

CQ6 is the newer generation – more scalable, slightly higher density, longer warranty, and upgraded integrated safety features.

Both are IP65 rated, DC-coupled, and designed to work with compatible Fox ESS hybrid inverters.

Which one makes sense depends on:
      - Timing (pre/post rebate change)
      - Required capacity
      - Inverter pairing
      - Budget

There’s no obsolete model here – just different use cases

      • What model inverter to you use for the 3 phase 15 kW installs?

  • I'm still waiting for install after paying the deposit. Also waiting to hear back after chasing a few times.
I can't recommend them at this stage. I'll revoke my negative vote once my system is installed and I'm happy.

Also my quote was $1k more than this offer. I have a $500 extra wiring charge but it's still $500 more.

Definitely do your research and try to find other customers who have been happy with the install and the time they've had to wait

    • I was told a 3-4 week lead time. has it been that long?

      • Yes. Paid on 14 January. Was told prior that it was a 3 week lead time. I sent them an email on 14 January after paying with no response. Sent a follow up email 21 January and still no response. Sent a PM via Ozbargain and getting some response now but was told Michael was supposed to call me and he claimed he contacted me but not response.

        Buyer beware for now

        • Do you mind me asking if you requested DC coupling to existing panels how much that cost extra? And how much deposit is required?

          • @unco: Nope. Mine is a basic AC coupled system. DC coupling means messing with your existing setup voiding warranty and possibly encountering issues with your existing setup.

    • Hi,

First - I’m genuinely sorry you’re still waiting and having to chase us. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have, especially after paying a deposit.

We understand that delays impact trust. We are working through installs from the previous promotion as quickly as possible while maintaining compliance and inspection requirements.

Yes, our current timeline is 3-4 weeks for install, which we are working on reducing.

You’ve already reached out to me directly, and I’m reviewing your file personally to provide a clear update.

      We’ll get this resolved properly.

      • Thanks, job is scheduled for this Friday. I'll share back here once connected and inspection passed

  • If I already have a Fronius Primo 8.2KW Single Phase inverter (not hybrid) is it possible to connect these batteries up (understand it's not as efficient due to the DC/AC conversions but really happy with the Fronius reliability, warranty, reporting, export reports. Etc. and just want to look at adding a battery to the existing solar system (including blackout protection if possible… can the Fox ESS 41.93kWh Battery be setup in this way?

    • I'm in the same boat. Fronius Primo 8.2kw single phase with existing pannels. I did a bit researching and it says either keep the Fronius and do a AC coupling, or remove the Fronius and get a hyprid inverter to do DC coupling.

      • Any idea what the pro's and con's are? Understand DC coupling is a little more efficient (but only a little from what I've read) but seems to spend the extra money for very little efficiency gain when you talking over 40KW of battery seems like it's not needed but trying to better understand some of the other pro's/con's with each setup..

  • What in the ChatGPT …

First 14, and offer valid until 15 April. Once May comes with rebates for these large batteries dropping heaps of these companies will disappear as demand for new installs will fall off a cliff.

    • Hi Lucille,

Correction: The Valentine’s promotion ends Sunday 15/03/2026. The previous date listed was a typo on our end - thank you for picked it up.

First 14 still applies. Once 14 bookings are secured, the allocation closes regardless of date.

      The rebates are not ending.

From 1 May, the structure changes - particularly for large-capacity batteries. Systems around 40kWh and above move into lower rebate tiers, which reduces the overall rebate value. That makes large batteries less financially attractive for some households.

That’s exactly why we’re highlighting the timing now.

Post-May, brands including FOX ESS are already preparing alternative battery sizes designed to better align with the new rebate structure. Many manufacturers are adapting - that’s how this industry works.

Demand for solar batteries isn’t disappearing. Energy prices aren’t going down, and households still want storage, backup and bill reduction. The market will adjust, not vanish.

We also operate across solar, heating and cooling, and hot water systems. We’ve navigated multiple policy shifts before - rebate cycles come and go, the industry adapts.

  • submitted form. Is it the first 14 who have paid a deposit and not just submitted an enquiry?

    • Hi Tomee,

The “First 14” refers to the first 14 eligible customers who complete assessment and secure their booking with a deposit.

Please note that not all properties are battery-ready. Some require switchboard upgrades or additional works, which can affect timelines.

That said, where possible, we always aim to look after customers already in the pipeline.

For example, we have honoured the additional discount for customers who paid a deposit prior to this promotion but had not yet received an install date.

Our goal is simple – to help as many eligible households as possible secure larger battery systems before the 1 May rebate change.

We just need to manage it within our installation capacity and compliance requirements.

  • Signed my FIL up yesterday, when can we expect a call, and know if we got that price? if all goes well, can we also do my house? when would we arrange that?

    • Hi Wisc,

Can you please send me a private messaage with your information and I can see where the guys are at with your job?

      Regards,

      • Thanks, done.

  • I signed up on the previous deal on 15 Jan, was told 3-4 weeks wait time, paid deposit as well but have not heard from you.

Also tried to call you twice and sent you a message today.

Hopefully you can see this message and give me an update.

I will revoke my vote when this matter is resolved.

    • Mine was paid on 14 January and I've got my install tomorrow. Battery is in the garage.
      Hopefully you get yours soon

    • I would post some updates on this matter, installation completed just now.

I called VPS on 19 Feb and 20 Feb after my post above.

Successfully got in touch with them on 20 Feb, VPS advised installation would be completed the week following, but unsure which day, and advised they will keep me posted either later that day or on the following Monday, 23 Feb.

Contacts were satisfactory throughout, albeit there are some changes but I am updated every step of the way, I am overall happy.

Installation arranged for Friday morning, 27 Feb.

Some hiccups on the delivery of battery, it was ultimately delivered to me around 6:30pm on 26 Feb, cutting it close!

Subbies arrived this morning, courteous and professional, answered all my questions.

We even made a last minute assessment and installed the battery on a much better location - subbies measures the distance from existing window and confirm it is compliant.

End result is better than I originally planned (a much better wall and cables not going on top of down pipes).

The whole installation is of good quality from what I can see, level measuring brackets, tubing for wiring were installed in a straight and neat manner.

Subbie also helped me setup the cloud app and explained how to look at it.

Battery is now turned off, awaiting inspection but I am overall a happy customer.

Neg revoked, let's hope there are no further issues with inspection.

  • My installation was today. Unfortunately it was a shitshow for various reasons. I don't think anyone, VPS, the subcontractor electrician and myself are happy.

    Key issues
    * Battery and inverter installed in place first THEN meterbox opened up and WTF
    * 45A service fuse appears to be a metal bar
    * Meterbox main breaker is 63A
    * Wire from smart meter to meterbox is undersized and cannot safely support 10kw
    * Meterbox wiring is messy and cannot fit the CT clamps. One of my power circuits was combined to make extra room. No idea if I can cook rice, boil the kettle and use my airfryer at the same time anymore
    * 10kw inverter needed to be removed
    * 5kw inverter Uber delivery

    The positives:
    * The electrician was honest and transparent. He could have ploughed ahead but didn't
    * He knew it wasn't my fault and didn't hold the situation against me
    * The install still got completed

    The negatives:
    * Invoice was only adjusted by $250 and that's on a price that is much higher than this Ozbargain special
    * Note than the price difference between 5 and 10kw is $1000.
    * Merged circuits
    * Stress and time wasted for everyone

I've shared with VPS and will wait to hear back.

My advice - reconsider if installing in an older house. Find an installer that will come out and inspect before quoting.

    • Why didn't you just reschedule the install for a little later once you'd had your switchboard replaced ?

I had similar issues in the past when adding a couple of large electrical loads to my house, and the entire switchboard replacement only took a day.

      • The switchboard was installed only in September 2021. I think it was 16 wide. VPS didn't advise it needed to be upgraded despite showing them detailed photos.
My callout to anyone looking at getting batteries installed is to find an electrician that will come out and inspect in person if it's an old house. Perhaps even for new houses as well.

    • Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. After reviewing the job internally, it became clear that the existing switchboard and supply setup was materially non-compliant and presented a serious safety risk under current electrical regulations.

This type of non-compliant configuration is very rare and cannot usually be identified from photos alone - it only becomes apparent during detailed physical inspection and load testing.

      Specifically:

      • The 45A service fuse presented as a solid metal link rather than a correctly rated service fuse
      • The meter box main breaker was rated at 63A
      • Supply wiring from the meter was not suitable to safely support a 10kW inverter
      • Once opened and tested under load, the configuration could not legally accommodate the higher capacity system

This is a significant safety matter. A battery and 10kW inverter increase load capacity, and connecting to a non-compliant board would have been unsafe and in breach of regulations.

Once the board was properly opened and assessed, the electrician correctly stopped and did not proceed in a way that could compromise safety.

At that point, three options were presented:

      • Upgrade the mains and switchboard to bring the property into compliance
      • Downsize from the 10kW inverter to 5kW to operate within the board’s safe limits
      • Cancel the installation

You elected to proceed with the 5kW configuration so the system could be completed safely on the day.

To minimise disruption, we sourced and dispatched the alternative inverter immediately so the job could be finalised without requiring a second attendance.

Regarding the circuit adjustments, modifications were made to allow correct CT clamp placement and battery monitoring within the physical limitations of the existing board.

We understand this was a stressful day. However, we stand by our electrician's decision to prioritize compliance and safety. We have delivered a working, safe, and fully monitored system despite the significant infrastructure hurdles.

If you would like to discuss the invoice breakdown or future upgrade options, we’re happy to do so directly.

      Regards,
      Victorian Power Savers

      • Thanks, yes this is 100% correct. I'm working with VPS and Energy Safe Victoria to ensure we get to a compliant setup so the battery can be switched on.
For anyone else with an older home, do see if you can get an electrician out to your home to inspect and assess. If VPS offer this service then take them up on this.
There are cowboys electricians who have either lack of knowledge, lack of care or both. The electrician that upgraded my board in 2021 was experienced but probably experienced in shit work. The inspector who signed off probably also didn't give a shit.
I'm positive that VPS will help get me sorted.

        • Further update from my experience,
Subcontractor came back today to help rectify my non compliant main switch. He turned up on time and was quick to fix. I separately had United Energy fix my non compliant service fuse as well. The inspector was supposed to come today as well but it's after 4pm now so I think unlikely. Still waiting for compliance inspection and hopefully it passes. Was a little concerned that the conduit to the DC battery terminals was cut short exposing maybe 1-2cm of DC wiring but when I raised it with the subcontractor he said it's fine. Eagerly waiting for the inspector to sign off.

Edit: Ok so the inspector isn't coming today as I was originally informed. They will come sometime next week. I will share back once it's inspected and I receive the electrical certificates as well for the prescribed and non prescribed work

          • @IlIlIl IlI llIIIl: Work was inspected on Tuesday and passed with a couple of issues.

            1. Inexperienced installer shows through with basically rubbish overuse of irrelevant stickers slapped all over the battery. Inspector called this out but technically cannot defect as the minimum sticker requirements are met.

            2. Installer left the switchboard housing poorly attached. Wasn't like that prior to the installation of the battery. Inspector has written them up and requested they come back and make it safe as there is a gap due to poor fitment and crowding of wires.

Battery is on and working. Inspector was helpful and took the time to talk me through the compliance process and answer questions.

            • @IlIlIl IlI llIIIl: Everything is now good. Installer came back to fix issues and battery is working well. Updating my vote to positive as everything has worked out in the end.

              • @IlIlIl IlI llIIIl: Good to hear.
I'm still waiting on sign off. Been 2 weeks with no contact

  • Will add my experience after install as there is a lot of talk but not many people sharing feedback on the install.
    • Submitted information on 30th Jan, received a callback asking some more questions and a detailed quote within an hour.
    • Paid deposit on 2nd Feb
    • Installed on 18th Feb
    • Inspected and turned on 20th Feb

Single storey, no backup, AC coupled installed, metro Melbourne. I reckon this is why it was installed so quickly. They called the afternoon before and asked to install the next day, so likely a cancellation.

Overall experience is very positive, big kudos to the installer Muhammad, he worked very hard to make it look neat and avoid internal conduit to my internal switchboard (old house), can’t fault him.

Installer arrived at the time they said he would and battery was delivered an hour later. Unfortunately he looked at the intended location but deemed it too close to the property boundary, it was borderline, he even went as far as calling the inspector and sending photos but the inspector said he wouldn’t pass it in the location that was quoted.

Installer suggested another location on the other side of the house (basically the only place meeting all the requirements). Considering how many rules there are about battery placement, ideally a site visit is required to be sure, these guys are offering a very affordable service compared to others so can’t blame them for not doing a site visit during quoting.

Battery has only been running for a day but works as intended, can’t offer feedback on the product yet but overall happy with VPS.

    • Glad to hear of the positive experience. Definitely worth installing if you have a straightforward install. Mine is just a shitty situation. Now just comes down to the price adjustment for me to make it less shitty.

  • just had my install done by VPS, no issues with them, Sales, booking and installation were perfectly fine.
im just waiting on sign off. typically how long have others waited?

    • Within about a week for me

      • Thanks. Everyone around me are getting theirs inspected in under a week but I still haven't heard anything.
VPS just advised they don't schedule and it's automated.

        • Mine was thoroughly inspected which was good. Installer had to come back and rectify some issues. Now just waiting on the compliance certificate to be issued.

  • For those that had an Install done by @Vic Power Savers, did you all pay in full after battery installation or impaction sign off?

I stupidly paid in full after installation and it seems inspection is dragging on with no assurance result from them.
Looking for some guidance or options here

    • I only paid after it was inspected and all certificates issued.

Has yours been inspected at all? Mine had some issues and the installer returned to fix it. A few days after I got the certificate of compliance as well as the warranty certificates

      • i suspect that is maybe what is causing my dragging as i already paid in full and no inspection. @Vic Power Savers, can you please respond to my email from this morning?

        • Hi Tomee,

I already have your details I will check it out today and get back to you.

          Regards,
          Victorian Power Savers

      • Hi,

To clarify, we request payment after installation is completed. Inspection is carried out by an independent third party and is a separate process.

Customers are welcome to wait for inspection before paying, but we do ask that payment is made promptly after install as the vast majority of inspections pass without issue. When something does come up, it's typically minor like a missing sticker, and our installer returns to rectify it.

        Regards,
        Victorian Power Savers

  • Hi just wanted to check if the battery can be installed as a standalone without solar?

    • Yes it can. You just don't get any government rebates
