I've had no issues with the mobile version (did C++ with it) except for the following:
- Cloud sync takes a long time when you start the game.
- Game eventually slows down, especially noticeable with retrigger builds, which is fixable with a restart of the app.
What issues have you been having?

Admittedly I don't own it on mobile, I was interested but thought I dive online and read what folks are saying.
Most complained about graphics not optimised for mobile phone screens.
Perhaps alright for Tablets, phones on the other hand maybe cumbersome to read clearly for 1st timers coming into the game.

I played it on phone and I thought the larger text made it fine - but I had played Balatro on desktop before so I didn't need to read too much. I think it's still perfectly serviceable on phone (and much more convenient to play compared to playing it on desktop).
A large screen / mouse is definitely nice to have for the 0.1% of players interested in Perkeo / naneinf nonsense, but it's more of a niche thing for the super dedicated players (imo, it's way too tedious),

@mcpower: Glad to hear this from someone with first hand experience.
I may do some more further reading before I commit.I got burnt with Darkest Dungeon on iPad mini due to it not being optimised for mini tablet screens so didn't want others to experience the same with baltoro.
But am glad to read the comments here.

@Nivlac: I bought Darkest Dungeon for the Switch Lite. Ridiculous purchase. Couldn't read a bloody thing

The game runs in a VM named "Love" on all platforms. The graphics are rendered in software, not hardware. Balatro also idles in a busy loop, which means that it chews as much battery as a 60fps game.
I didn't find scaling to be much of an issue but the UI can be modded.

The console version also has crashing issues which is frustrating.

I think it's one of the most optimised for mobile games ever.

I agree with this. Could be the type of phone though. I have a Samsung S24 Ultra and it has run perfectly from day 1 without a glitch or anything running slow. Have played hundred of hours easily. Way too addictive.

I've played 20+ hrs of it on mobile, across multiple devices, with no issues. Anecdotal of course though.

I only have it on mobile at the moment (might get it on steam deck). The amount of hours I have put into this, I haven't had any issues. Works great on the Z fold 5. This and Slay the Spire are must have on every platform haha.

I've played probably 50 hours on mobile and haven't experienced a single issue

it runs fine on my S25 Ultra.. hours of play so far, I bump the game speed up to 2

Super glad this game got ported over to mobile, a very good time killer imo.
Personally I ran this game on my Pixel 6a without any major glaring issues but I will agree that the UI isn't exactly optimised for mobile, it would be nice if they added a UI scaling option.
Also there was occasionally this visual bug where a Joker can be 'selected' where the Buy/Sell tabs remain open even if you've selected something else.
Performance wise it's perfectly fine unless you're doing endless runs with infinite scaling builds then it can get super laggy.

It's "lol" you're not talking about League of Legends

"Performance wise it's perfectly fine unless you're doing endless runs with infinite scaling builds then it can get super laggy."
the reading and comprehension skills of you dweebs…
so to spell it out to you thick heads.
- big scores make the game lag.
- my game doesnt lag
- my scores arent big
- im a shit player who struggles to clear levels.
no wonder one nation is on the rise.

Don't do it. This is one of that group of games that includes World of Warcraft, Dance Dance Revolution, Street Fighter, and Candy Crush that is just a disguised divorce, unemployment, and homelessness package.

🤣🤣🤣

Wow that really is the widest variety of games you could reference. DDR, RTS, beat em up, mobile?! Especially DDR.

The devil wears many faces.

dont get this game, it's like crack

Don't do it if you have relationships to maintain

Check if you have a coupon. I had one for $3 off any game over $10 making it $7.
Have PC, switch and now mobile version. Cracktro. Runs better on my samsung A54 then my Surface 2 laptop.

How'd you get coupon?

Look in your profile in google playstore. I found this coupon
Offer: $3 Google Play discount on an app, game, or in-app item

Thanks for the heads up! Found one with $4 coupon but kept looking through my accounts and somehow found 95% off coupon (up to $7). Ended up paying $3.49.

thanks for the switch info im getting it now

Looks to be the same price on IOS too.

If you're even half thinking about buying this game - buy it.

If you're buying this you might need this to address the problems with it.

I had this on my R36S forever ago but didn't get into it. Me and the missus both recently got the last (243rd lol) achievement in Vampire Survivors…reckon this is worth a punt? She is far from a gamer but something in VS clicked for her, and I've heard this one is similarly addictive.

Played the hell out of this game on my iPad (was part of Apple Arcade I think). It's great fun but super addictive as others have pointed out (just one more round etc). With my old man eye's I didn't find it as enjoyable on a phone screen but for tablet play it feels just right.

This game is magnificent. Play it on my Poco X6 Pro - zero issues

I've converted a few family and friends to join this cult. I can't recommend this game enough regardless of the platform.

Seeing this caused me to spend another hour playing balatro. Anyway, good game, I recommend.

I'm a recovering addict… No more… Cloverpit likewise…
The good thing about this being a non cross platform game is you can point out you've only spent 50 hours on the mobile version… Just don't check steam time, Xbox game pass and PS 5 time..
No issue with phone version whatsoever. Google pixel 7 Pro

Buy now, regret later? Been a huge fan of slay the spire and Hades 1/2. Assume this will have a similar flavour.

Playing on my s22 ultra no problems.
Was going to get on switch but feels great on phone now hehe
This was 100% worth the price. Thanks so much for posting. I'm playing on Motorola G84 and it's slowed down once and was fixed by resetting the app

I want to play this but I couldn't really get into slay the spire after 20hrs. I know it's a me problem so I'm unsure if I'll be able to get into this game.
A few mates have sunk heaps of hours into Balatro and I have a bit of fomo.
Has anyone else played this and sls, and found themselves playing Balatro more?

I mean it's only $10.49, why not just get it and find out for yourself. You'd either spend countless hours playing, or just few hours trying then move on to something you enjoy more ¯_(ツ)_/¯
The thing with games like this and STS is enjoyment heavily depends on whether/when they start to click with you.
STS didn't click with me the first few times I tried it but now I quite enjoy it.
Balatro still hasn't but it's there for when I'm away from home, bored and in the mood to give it another crack.
I struggled to get into Slay the Spire too, but loved Balatro. I think it's deceptively 'simpler' in that you don't have to do any battles or actively manage attacking. It's less demanding in that way, although you can get pretty deep with strategy, there is still also some RNG-ness to it that keeps it less … involved? I dunno, I didn't manage to go through more than a handful of STS runs but I've played Balatro for hours across Steam Deck and my phone. I think you can also pick up and play mid-run with Balatro better than you can with STS since all the jokers are laid out in the UI and there aren't too many combos or special cards to memorise.

Great Rogue-like game, but lots of negative feedback re mobile version.
Just informing.
