Just bought this for $817.05 delivered. Stacked with 5% First Purchase + 5% Coupon Code + AMEX $100 off (when you spend $500).

Original price is $1999.
The current offer on EPP is 50% Tech Upgrade Deal $999.50
Trade-in value of your old soundbar is up to $25

5% First Purchase is automatically provided. I've purchased many items over the years and no idea why this is still being applied, but I'll take it.

5% Coupon Code I requested by starting a chat and straight up asking for a code. Took me about 5 min.

$100 off AMEX for $500 spend may be targeted and needs to be activated on your card/account before purchase.
UPDATE: AMEX offer accepted and credit received.

$15 delivery is completely new to me, it's usually been free, but still a cheap price.

    just bought this last week

im no audiophile but the sound is amazing.
im on 10-13% volume most times and its already freaking loud. Voices are crisp and clear

i know there is a new model coming out q990H i think but unless u specifically need the new features and just want a good soundbar with satellite speakers its great

the comparison i saw was against $3000-4000 sonys or $4000-6000 sonos arcs

they may be better, who knows, but are they 4x better? doubt it

  • Is there a simple/easy way to get a valid email to use the Samsung EPP?

    • +1

You need an valid email for it; however, you can access EPP via westpac or CBA bank accout, for Westpac you can get via Westpac Rewards the access and With CBA you need CBA Yello Rewards.

      • Don't have either 😂

      • +1

I checked my CBA, I have yellow plus, but I couldn't find how to sign up to EPP from the rewards page. Is there a hidden option somewhere?

        • +1

CBA rewards —> offers by brand —> Samsung —> claim offer —> takes you to samsung page —> register or log into your account.

          • @BarginGrabber: I followed these instructions for CBA Yellow and was able to login and see the deal on my phone.

But I can't buy it cause it says Tech Upgrade DEAL, the button says "Not for sale" and I can't click it.

            • @tohsb: Strange, I bought one this morning after applying the 5% off First Purchase and another 5% off loyalty code. The "Up to 15% off" Samsung products through CBA Yellow doesn't apply to the soundbars though so final price was $917.

            • @tohsb: I just tried it now, I was deciding whether to get the soundbar but decided to do it and just sell my old one. It worked and I got confirmation email

Okay, so you went to commbank yello —> offers —> offers by brand —> samsung?

It should say "get up to 15% off Samsung products" and "claim offer"

So, where does it say tech upgrade deal and not for sale?

              • @BarginGrabber: So I went into CBA Yello -> Offers - > Samsung ->Get up to 15% off Samsung Products -> Claim offer -> Open in Chrome browser -> Signin with generic email Account ID that already existed -> So now I'm on the Samsung page and logged in. I go to the Q-series Spundbar HW-Q990F 11.1.4 Subwoffer & Rear Speaker (NEW) page.

On the Speaker page it shows me:
                $999.50
                Save $999.50
                Tech Upgrade DEAL

I tried with the Chrome browser and then the Samsung Browser by copying the http link. Both had the same thing, the 'Not for Sale button' is not clickable.
                Not for sale

One thing to note is that when I try to click the person at the top of the page to view my profile it keeps asking me to login. Perhaps it's an issue with my account not being recognised at this stage. I might have to try to create a new account later.

                • @tohsb: Crisis over.

My phone and personal pc had the problem. But I tried a different computer with the CBA Yellow link and it lets me add to the cart now without even logging in.

                  • @tohsb: Good to see, I had an issue with a phone literally yesterday that didn't allow me to click on a "claim now" button even though it worked on my main phone.

      • True but if you access via CBA you need to pay with CBA card so don’t get the Amex $100 cash back. Still a good deal though

  • Got the 990c version and very happy with the sound.

    • +1

They have hardly evolved from the C series, the subwoofer bass on the C is more powerful.

      • Yeah small incremental upgrades. I didn't know the sub was better on the C.. I thought that was improved!

Also, get mounts off ebay for these, should be just over $100.

    • I've had 930b and 990f. The biggest improvement is the subwoofer. It's a massive difference - bass is no boomy and is punchier.

I used to have a AVR Atmos setup before downsizing to soundbars. While it's not as good, 990f is excellent for the money (my AVR by itself costs $1,500)…

  • -5

Might sound good but ugly as!

    • +1

For $2000+ saving compare to Sonos $1500+ just for the soundbar who cares!

      • -6

Me! I went Bose, looks good, sounds great!

        • +6

Then add rear speakers which are worse than the samsung for $500, then add a subwoofer for $8-900….2.5k for something that may marginally outperform the 990.

          • -1

@Spendmore: It is sound industry. Some people will be happy pay more for marginal improvement and it is totally fine. Sonos does sound better in both music and movie and not margin.

Crying when I bought whole set of sonos and still plan to buy front facing set to complete combo.

            • +1

@Steven123: … What? Are you suggesting it's a not marginal improvement? Because I'm sure it is in most cases.

A full sonos arc system is well over 3k if you pair it with the top end eras 300 and Sub4, not the mini.

This is an all in one easy to use solution.. And Sonos is very app dependent still, no? No remote.

At least the Samsung comes with one if you really didn't want to touch their app, though I recognise some settings are limited to the app(and may be needed still for initial setup)

You're dreaming if you think the Sonos sounds over 3x the quality of the Samsung.

It's just brand and aesthetics and convenience. For the price of the Sonos you could buy a massively superior (sound wise) surround setup via a receiver. Soundbars have come a long way, but there's still physical limitations with sound. So the argument for 'pay for marginal improvement' is probably less accurate then vs paying for convenience (which is what a soundbar and wireless surrounds and subs provide, not everyone wants to run speaker cables). But let's not pretend it's about sound quality.

              • @ReaperX22: It does sound better but neither better to stereo when it comes to music. Sound bar has its limit.
I have a new full set of ultra and it is not marginally better to Q990 but not 3x time difference.
In audio world, people do pay min 1k for cable just to gain 10-15% for their IE let alone speaker.
It is your money and you decide what suits your ears.

  • I got this recently and haven't fulled tested it out yet. My one complaint is that the stand holes at the back are a random size and the screws aren't included unless I missed them.

    • +1

Screw thread is most likely 1/4 UNC if an M6 metric bolt won't screw in.

A very annoying hangover from std camera and tripod mounts etc.

  • I got these recently during Black Friday sales last year via EPP for $1045. It took me a while to set up the whole thing, figured out it was an old hdmi cable that needed to be replaced, and it worked like a charm.

I think this setup is the best value for money. I've been told the next 'upgrade' from this is the Sonos Arc Ultra, but that setup is around $4k.

  • i bought this 4 weeks ago for $1350 and tbh I think it was worth that much, definite buy if you're in the market

    • 1350 , you should be able to refund if it is from samsung, jb or harvey etc , ask the samsung support for details

  • What is the good sound bar at sub $500 from samsung?

  • I have the Samsung q 990b. Is there any difference between these models?

  • How did the coupon work on the EPP site. In the past the coupons never worked on the EPP site. Good if they changed this

    • +1

I've used the coupon codes a few times in the past. They're usually half the discount of the normal Samsung site. Ie 10% for normal site and 5% for EPP.

      • +1

I have been given 10% loyalty discount but only applied 5% in the cart.

  • I've had the Q990D for about 18 months and have loved it since. I previously had a Sonos setup in a smaller living space, but don't know that I would consider Sonos again for the living room considering the price, quality and value I have received from the 990D setup. It sounds great.

  • Probably has shopping location restrictions like all the last ones. Still salty they don't ship to TAS.

    • +1

When I edited the deal a few hours ago, I tested the shipping restrictions by entering a random address in Sandy Bay (7005), and I was offered shipping to that address for $15. I just tested this again with a random address in Strahan (7468) and shipping was offered to me.

Samsung's shipping restrictions appears to only apply to very large/heavy items (e.g. TVs, refrigerators, washing machines).

  • may be new models on the way

    • Yup, the "H" model has already been confirmed by Samsung.

  • +2

    Got one!

Just went through the steps you described, requested the 5% discount coupon which they gave but I had to show a photo of Samsung product serial. Fished out an old phone which I realise was my only Samsung product around!

The 5% first buyer discount was automatically applied like you said so that brought it to $917.05. I activated the Amex offer so that should take it to 817 like you said. The offer did say it only applies to Samsung.com/au but I hope that will work on the epp store as well?

Anyway, thanks for the find OP!

    • +2

      Nice one, glad I helped.

I received the email from AMEX confirming I used the offer, so I'm kinda hoping it is approved too.

They usually state it's not applicable for the EPP in the T&Cs and at checkout the url was "samsung.com/au…" Sooo I'll kick a little fuss if they reject it. Either way I was happy with paying $999.

      Here's to hope 🤞🏻

      • +1

Just got the $100 credit! Sweeeeet!! Brings it to the $817, which I think would be an ATL?

Thanks, can’t wait to set it up!

        • Totally forgot to check thanks for the reminder.
My $100 cleared Fri the 13th. What a day to set an ATL 🎱

  • +1

My Q990R from 2019 is still rocking.

  • +1

Amazing deal - just did it myself and works as described with everything.

Have been eyeing this one off so pulled the trigger. Thanks a heap :)

  • +1

I'm currently tossing up between the Samsung Q990F with satellites in front, since I don't have space behind the couch for rears, versus a Sonos Arc Ultra + Sub 4. Anyone else had the same issue and decided on a certain direction?

  • Any suggestions for stands for speakers?

Need to place them behind sofa at ear level.

    • +1

These were/are popular on here when I got the 990C. From memory they dropped a little lower than this but not often. I’ve got a set placed behind sofa.

      https://amzn.asia/d/08otEpmx

  • Can’t get 5% to auto apply even though showing on front page. Using iPhone safari browser. Any suggestions?

    • +1

Got it. You must sign in your account first.

  • Firstly, thanks for the post. Great timing as I was about to pull the trigger on a q800. Hopefully the AMEX offer goes through alright. It says “SAMSUNG AU ONLINE” in the transaction description but I haven’t received the email to say the offer was used (it was saved to my card).

I went through Union Shopper to access the discount (another option if you don’t have access to the education shop). Got the extra 5% off via chat. Had to provide any Samsung serial to get the code but there weren’t any issues - just asked for it.

  • Hey OP.
Great offer, but I can't seem to get past the Employee Email section.
I have a Samsung account, but nothing for the employee section.
Wife is a member of Union Shopper as she is a teacher, but no idea on how to leverage that via the Employee Email.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    • +1

Not too sure about the Union Shopper side, at a guess I would say there may be a link in the Union Shopper web portal that will direct you to the EPP bypassing the Employee Email login page. Hope that helps.

  • I wish the EPP would work for me, but the confirmation emails get sent but I never receive them on my work email - I assume they're being blocked by my organisation.

  • Something similar happened to me and it turned out we had multiple domains and it only accepted one. Example @mywork.com.au @mywork.com @mywork.gov @mywork.gov.au. In my case only one of these worked. Hope this helps.

  • I can’t get past the Samsung employee email section, any emails I’ve tried are invalid. Am I missing something?

    • Your employer needs to be registered to receive it, you have a gov.au email, through some discount programs, unions, CBA customers, etc…

  • They had the 930D for $600 a couple weeks ago, such a good price.

  • can you mound these to the wall or is it stand only?

  • Would these be overkill for a one bedroom apartment? I’m planning to purchase a 65-75inch tv in the near future..

    • No such thing. The bar would probably align well under the TV. Maybe give it a measure and if it lines up well, then it's "scientifically supported luck"™️
      🎓✨😋

  • +1

Thanks heaps! I was ready to pull the trigger on this when this popped up, you saved me hundreds!

  • I have a 11 years old Sony TV and it has a HDMI ARC, will I still get Dolby Atmos effects if I connect to this soundbar? or I need a TV with eARC in order to get Dolby Atmos ?
    Thanks

    • HDMI Arc is fine for streaming stuff like Netflix.

tbh 11 years old, I'd just look at marketplace for a used TV at a reasonable price.

  • Hi all, has anyone had the cashback credited from Amex yet?

  • +1

    Thanks OP, great first post!!!

I've had my eye on one of these for a while now.

…just wish I had signed up for Amex card a few months back, instead of putting it off….

  • Got my soundbar but having trouble adding into Samsung smart things app. It keeps saying processing for a few seconds then stopped with an error msg. Any ideas?

    • I'd love to help but can't at this point 😟

I'm still waiting on DHL… They're being superbly slow and uncommunicative.

  • Wasn’t home when the DHL guy rocked up. Now will have to wait until Monday for redelivery.

He even came back in the evening, also missed him. My luck!

  • +3

This deal now includes a free Samsung Music Frame (RRP $699).

I have purchased two for about the same price as one Sonos arc ultra!

    • I don't see this on my portal. Mind sharing a link or image?

P.s still waiting for my speaker. "DHL Supply Chain" is not flexible.

      • This is only showing one of the 5% discounts but shows the included music frame.

        https://limewire.com/d/7Q8er#2VtUo99UMM

        • I deff don't have that on my portal. Nice one - A new ATL. A little bit jealous now 😜

    • +1

This is only available via CommBank Yello store, unable to stack with AmEx offer

      • I've been able to obtain the free Samsung Music Frame and pay with Amex via the Seniors Card portal.

  • Had a bunch of issues getting logged into the website properly from the Commbank App, but got there eventually.

The soundbar was appearing as ''Not for Sale'', then I was logged in and could add to cart, then I was logged out again.. got there eventually and managed to get the free Samsung Music Frame on top.

Total was $917 after delivery (no AMEX for me).

    • When I try to get it this morning it is $1399 now :(

      • I was on live chat yesterday and supposedly they’ve run out of stock. The soundbar deal expires in a few days so hopefully they’ve replenished by then.

      • It appeared automatically when I added the Soundbar to my cart. I think it's only if you are using the Commbank Yello link to login etc.

  • Logged in via commbank yello and this is not available on Samsung site perhaps out of stock?
