Hey OzBargain,
I’m Pat, an Aussie sales guy. I’ve worked with big enterprise CRMs for years and kept running into the same frustration.
- I don’t need more fields.
- I don’t need more reports.
I just want to know what my next move is and what’s in it for me. Simple. Clear. On my own terms, not buried inside management dashboards.
So I built DealBuddy (iOS), and I would like some feedback.
My logic is, most CRMs are built for reporting up the chain. DealBuddy is built for the rep. I use it every day to track what I actually need to do next on a deal, without the noise and administration of a full blown CRM.
What DealBuddy focuses on
I built DealBuddy for myself as a lightweight, private deal manager that focuses on just three things:
- What deals are in your pipeline
- What your next step is
- How much commission you’re actually going to make
All data is hosted locally on your device, no external servers.
What it shows you
- Your pipeline in a clean visual view
- A red, orange, green health indicator on every deal
- Clear next steps so nothing goes stale
- Commission tracking per deal
- A simple dashboard that tells you what needs attention today
- Next step notifications to keep track of what needs to be done next
What it is NOT
There are:
- No 500 custom fields
- No admin overhead
- No corporate nonsense
To be clear, DealBuddy is not a replacement for Salesforce, HubSpot, or your company’s official CRM.
It’s not built for:
- Enterprise reporting
- Multi-department workflow automation
- Marketing automation
- Complex admin setups
- Managers who want 50 custom fields per deal
It doesn’t try to sync your entire company database. All data is saved on device. No contact sync. No emails. It doesn’t try to be everything.
If you love filling in detailed CRM forms and running 20-page pipeline reports, this isn’t for you.
If you want a simple, private deal tracker that tells you what to focus on next and how much commission is at stake, that’s exactly what it does.
The ask
I’d genuinely love some feedback.
Maybe it ends up being useful for other reps. Maybe it just stays my own tool. Either way, I’m building it because I need it. And yes, I’m a sales guy, so I’d love to monetise it properly one day to further enhance it.
