Same price at Fresh City HQ in Liverpool. I bought 6 cartons yesterday, if anyone's wondering, the expiry is 12/03/26. For me the 6 cartons will be finished in 2 weeks, so no issues.

Exactly, these are local prices that are basically RRP. You can find other stores locally in the same area with similar prices.

I'm not sure if this is a true bargain, otherwise we would just be posting about which suburbs to visit to buy cheap groceries.

      Further Proof

      Just go to Campsie…
      $10 for 5 dozens (600g) or 3 dozens (700g)

Welcome to OzB, it's amazing you know how to do hyperlinks & quotes already. It took me ages to figure that stuff out.

Posts about location to buy cheap stuffs are the main reason people visit OzBargain.

    • Cabramatta is too expensive

    • How do you usually eat eggs? Just lots of scrambies or some secret way

      • You can also use eggs for baking

        • or making wine. I wanna know this guys 6 carton per 2 week habit. Its intriguing

      • +1

My boys like them sunny side up in the fry pan.

89c per dozen at Campbelltown Country Fresh, 600g

    • That's nuts

      • +2

        That's eggs !

    • Now that's a true bargain that isn't RRP.

    • +10

Pretty gutsy to call out someone who's contributed various deals to this site, and been a user for 7 years.

All from a 15 minute old account

        • +2

10 dozen eggs for 10 bucks is not RRP, unless you live in the 70s maybe

          • -6

@Jackson: It's caged eggs and localised pricing to the area. It's RRP. It's been this price for months.

1 previous comment about Campsie? 1 previous deal from a greengrocer in Victoria?

Don't like the bargain, leave a comment, move on. Downvote if not the cheapest: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines

No, it's definitely an ad. Go look at the rest of their posts.

It's a bunch of random unconnected posts, and one other post for a fruit market in Melbourne. Hardly a grand conspiracy.

It's just as likely he moved from Melb to Syd and takes a healthy interest in fruit and veg.

          • +2

            @dontpanic: Yeah man. Spot on.
Moved to a second address in Sydney and have been on a low carb diet!

    • +4

Funny enough. I am from Melbourne but I moved to a second address in Sydney in December 2025. Frequently travel between the two cities for 10+ times a year I figured it'd better to have a secondary home there.

Now why would that make my post suspicious? Admin would have a log of IP address I used to submit the post.
Is this an ad? No. I happened to see cheap eggs, I took a photo and posted. End of story

      • Watch out that Big Egg doesn't throw you out a window or something. XD

Crazy how much prices have dropped (not complaining at all lol)

I remember the cheapest 700g dozen I could find being $7… and stock always being low

    • +2

Yet supermarkets like colesworth refuse to reduce prices that they increased during the shortage. Thier price gouging increases are always one way.

      • I don’t understand their strategy. My local Coles and Woolworths have Asian grocery stores and fruit shops nearby, and all of them sell eggs much cheaper than Coles or Woolworths now

        • There is nothing to understand, they just prioritize profits. Many still buy from supermarkets rather than cheaper stores. I have seen Asian shop right in front of woolies selling tomatoes at 1.99 or 2.99 a kilo and people still paid 8.99 inside woolies. And these Asian shops even advertise cheap prices on large bill boards. As long as people buy, they sell.

          • +5

@John Doh: I know people who choose to buy the more expensive option because they think buying the less expensive version makes them look "cheap".

I also know people that buy the more expensive option because they think there's something wrong with the cheaper options in order for them to be selling cheaper.

People are weird. Anyway, fools and their money…

            • +1

@dontpanic: Well my dad buys caged and I buy free range at a premium.

            • @dontpanic: They've been conditioned by the supermarkets to assume premium price automatically equates to premium quality.

E.g. Branding perfectly edible fruit and vegetables as "The Odd Bunch" to attach a deliberate stigma to it. Then you look on the back of the packaging and it is the same supplier/grower as the full priced equivalent. LOL.

@Frozensage "Well my dad buys caged and I buy free range at a premium."

              Nailed it.

      • there is no price gouging and never was. literally investigated by government. let me guess, they took some hush money? get real.

you people will never be happy until it’s all just free.

        • Nobody is expecting stuff for free, but just comparing to other stores. Plenty of profits made by colesworth and the prices have really gone through the roof.

  • +3

Can they post, I'm a little far away

    • Lol

      • +1

It’s great to see users with 0 deal posts trying to tell us how the site works.

        • I don’t necessarily disagree, but their last paragraph coupled with your comment kind of just proves their point?

          • +1

@dongltron: There are many valid local deals that don’t have delivery options…. Does not mean they are not deals.

My point stands, a user who has never posted a deal in their life telling us what constitutes a valid deal is a bit rich. Ironically the last deal posted by Neil was for a specific location. Does this poster know better than Neil?

They are right to have an opinion but doesn’t mean it should go unchecked.

            • @Slo20: Yes I couldn't agree more. There are many great deals that were "instore only" and people were lining up for them. As well as those freebie posts in front of a specific train station

Bought 4 for 10 dollars randomly in Auburn central yesterday. I was there for a pee, ended up with eggs too

    • Extra!

  • 3 for $5 at Wentworth Point Orange supermarket on Friday. Get some before Ed Sheeran

    • +3

      Egg Sheeran is in town…

  • +1

That price for red capsicum is great too!

They were ~$15 kg just a month ago…

  • damn I wish some of these prices made it to Canberra. Would love to get 10 dozen or so for a batch of pickled eggs.

  • +2

Big no on caged eggs. Free range 1500/ha for me.

Possibly the smallest $ difference you can put in for a tremendously better quality of life. If you're genuinely struggling on a poor salary then I can understand feeding your family, but otherwise, yeah nah.

    • -4

      Good on ya :)
Please remember to check if they used free range eggs in the cake or the pasta you're about to eat!

      • +9

That is individual insignificance fallacy. Like saying I’m going to litter because it doesn’t make a difference with all the polluting that India/China do.

We can all do our part with either small or grand gestures, it doesn’t need to be one extreme or the other.

    • +6

Yeah caged eggs can eff off. Cruel.

    • -5

"I punch higher than you so I'm better". But I won't stop punching, that's too extreme.

      You're (profanity) jokers.

  • +5

    Caged eggs should be illegal

    It’s horrifically cruel.

    • +1

Unfortunately the eggs you buy from cafes and restaurants will all be caged, but I'll never buy caged straight from the store.

  • +3

If these are caged eggs then no thanks.

  • +2

makes you wonder about the eggs are the woolies/coles/drakes/iga and why they are so expensive when the local ones can do it this cheap!

    • The egg mafia is real!

    • There was a recent deal posted for IGA where you could buy 2 free-range eggs for $5 this weekend. Colesworth is on the other planet, though.

      • Seems expensive just for 2 eggs.
