  • NSW or just qld ?

    • +3

      Not postcode/residency restricted.

VRTP changed their annual pass pricing/names in late November and currently do not offer "locals pricing".

      • Last time we had a "locals" pass, we were in Townsville - over 1000km from the theme parks - Sydney residents would have been more "local".
Seems VRTP have worked this out - local ain't local if the cost of travel to the parks for "locals" can be more than the theme park tickets!

  • Looks like for anyone the deals are usually just for qld residents

  • Entitles admission to Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World, Wet’n’Wild Gold Coast and Paradise Country during normal advertised operating days and hours for one (1) year from the date of first visit. Pass must be presented for first use within three (3) months from the date of purchase. If not presented within this period, the 12-month validity will commence automatically three (3) months from the date of purchase. No extension or pause to validity period is available. Pass covers all rides, shows and attractions subject to standard exclusions (e.g. food, beverage, merchandise, retail and pay per play activities must be purchased separately). Children under the age of three (3) years do not require an entry ticket.

Full Pass Details/Inclusions (but buy through the deal link)

  • I moved to gold coast recently, and want to visit these theme parks. I have never visited them. I am a bit confused about different passes they have. Could someone please confirm this is a good price for a local. I want to buy 2 tickets. Thanks
Is this an All Time Low?

    • +4

This is as cheap as it gets,

Last time an annual was this cheap was back in 2023 (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/788169) and that did not include the night events or photo pass.

      • +1

Oh yes, I bought this pass back in July 2023.

        • Thank you all, I just purchased 2 tickets 😊

          • +2

@Techefy: You've got, two tickets to Paradise … Country 🎵🎵

            • +2

@Lizard Spock: PC is very underrated. Go there on a Sunday and they (at least used to) have live music and you can sit out on the grass with a beer after checking out the marmosets and meerkats.

              • @TenderDracula: Yeah I liked it. We stayed there and it was enjoyable and the first day had a guy singing.

I'm not sure I'd do it again though. It feels completed to me.

                • @jacross: Yea if you did the farmstay you've seen it all. For people with annual passes and small children the playground, tractor ride, goats etc will have some replayability

              • @TenderDracula: Exactly, they just go to Wet nWild Water World and Movie World and keep saying the PC is boring, that there’s nothing there. I don’t understand why, as I’ve visited many times and the kids absolutely love it.

    • +2

$149 is pretty good for the annual pass with those event nights + photo pass and premium perks. I’m from Syd and would buy this even if I use it on one trip

      • Thank you

    • +1

      Bargain

      • Thanks

  • Any way to combine this with Love GC card?

    • No, however you can use your Love GC card inside the park on food/merchandise (and also use the 20% with this pass).

  • Want to buy now in preparation for my 2yo turrning 3 in a month. Won't let me buy for him when I put in his real date of birth because kids under 3 are free. Anyone see any issues with making him a year older on the order form so I can buy it today?

    • +9

No issues, but he could probably be under 3 for another 12 months wink wink

      • +1

We did the same (had them in the pram).

        • +1

^^ 20$ pram at Kmart, will save you a good year or two at least on stuff like this, movie tickets, little little kids menu at restaurants, etc.

  • Note this is a "winback" deal intended for those that have not renewed their pass for a long period.

There is a chance they could end the offer early so if you are keen I would jump on it.

  • What is the photo pass part?

    • +1

  • Good deal if you have the opportunity to go multiple times. A day pass for a family of four is overpriced.

    • Farmstay deal is perfect for 4 if it's still available

  • Taking my nephew who's here visiting from oversees

Annoying my partner can't make use of the pass for the other 364 days it's valid and he's not here.

    • Can always just buy a 1 day ticket for your nephew, unless you plan on visiting multiple parks on the day.

  • +2

I’ve been waiting for this one to go on sale! Thank you.

  • +1

The add on ultimate triple treat, is that free food for 12 months also?

It says "Valid for 12 months from date of purchase." So unsure if single use or on every visit

    • I'm sure it's just for the burger meal + free drink top-ups all day (frozen coke extra) per person for the day you visit.
It's another $29 if you plan to visit another time.

Still seems a bit pricey unless you plan to have 20 drinks during the day ;-)

      • +1

A burger meal with a cup of soft drink is roughly $20-25 on it’s own.

All day sipper cup is $19 on its own or $12 to upgrade your meal to include so it’s a good deal.

        • Sharing the sip and it's the deal

    • +2

Definitely just valid for one use.

  • Was there a place to enter "Flash" i just brought it and couldn't see anywhere to enter the code

    • +1

The link in the deal above already has the “flash” code prefilled so directs you to the $149 one

    • Shouldn’t be any issue, I have never had a VRTP gift card fail to work for direct online purchases through this ticketing site.

      • All good thanks. It was giving me some weird, can’t purchase gift card with gift card error, but has worked now. Cheers!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Haven't been back in years but this is a great price!

  • Visiting Goldcoast for 5 night with family in Dec 2026, any deal or any tricks to get a cheaper short term pass? or Should i just go for Sea world resort that includes theme park tickets?

    • +1

You’ll find Sea World Resort will jack up prices in Dec as it’s peak season. You won’t find a better deal than $149. If you’re going within the 2 weeks before Christmas, this also includes a ticket to the White Christmas event at Movie World.

      • Thanks. So just get this $149 yearly pass for 4 people and book a seperate hotel. Combine these two might be cheaper option if going for 4 or 5 nights?

      • Just noticed that it is expiring today morning, so bought it. Will see how I go - trip is still far away

        • I believe this opens up cheaper pricing for Seaworld Resort, if that helps at all. Expensive time of year though unfortunately, school hols gets us all!

          • @IceBank MiceElf: Sea world resort has black out dates which you can bet will be school holidays.

  • +1

Thanks OP been hoping there would be a good deal on these passes.

  • +1

    Amazing timing, bought two!

  • Thanks!
Do we need to prebook to go to the parks or can just turn up and have the tickets scanned?

    • Just turn up, scan the barcode.

If you would prefer a physical pass they can print one at the front gate but it’s not required.

You need to book with the pass number if you wish to attend Carnivale, White Christmas or Spooky Night.

      • Do you know if we can book these special events now or later? I’m worried the tickets might be exhausted, or whether they are reserved for Premium Annual Pass holders.

        • +1

Tickets are available for Carnivale currently.

Spooky Nights and White Christmas will be available closer.

White Christmas is the event you need to worry about “selling out”.

Generally if tickets are available for the general public to purchase the passholder redemption option is also available.

          • @JordanM: Do you know what we put in as the “gift code” to book carnivale tickets? The Season Pass ID doesn’t seem to work, thanks

  • Just paid full price for family last week. Didn’t expect a sale.
    Oh well.
    Ripper of a deal now

  • +5

A protip for people with unlimited entry passes visiting Movie World. When you want to eat, exit the park and go to Top Golf through the walk way under Hyper Coaster. You can have an unbelievably better lunch for a reasonable price then head back to MW.

    • Alternatively I would recommend the Dirty Harry Bar at Movie World for quality mexican food, with the 20% pass discount this would work out similar to Top Golf.

      • Personal preference I suppose. I stopped going to Dirty Harry's after they went full Mexican with the menu. I'd still say Top Golf is cheaper, especially if Dad wants a beverage or 2.

    • +1

I didn’t know that. I usually just exit the park, get in the car and drive to KFC or McDonald's on the other side of the highway, will try Top Golf next time

      • yea the food is legitimately good and walking under Hyper Coaster is very cool, at one section it comes very close to the ground. And each TG booth has its own serviete box, so if you need to grab a bunch of napkins to wrap up left over pizza and pretzel bites there you go

  • I know it’s not apple to apple but how does this compare to the $99 Dreamworld annual pass?

    • -2

I wouldn't compare over price. They are different things

      https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-54321389

    • Personally I have both, as an overall experience I prefer Dreamworld by far, they have done a lot of work with the park over the past few years and it’s looking fantastic and operates to a higher standard to Movie World.

Movie World has better/more coasters though.

  • Is there a deadline for when to make the first visit? and what happens if you don't make the first visit before that deadline?

    • +1

      As per the T&Cs
Pass must be presented for first use within three (3) months from the date of purchase. If not presented within this period, the 12-month validity will commence automatically three (3) months from the date of purchase. No extension or pause to validity period is available.

      • +1

In addition to this the bonus photo pass must be collected within 3 months of purchase.

        • What does "collected" mean? Is this an online collection process?

          • @muzzamo: Collected means in person at the park scanning the barcode and receiving a physical card.

        • What is photo pass? When you go to ride and it takes photo, do you get them free?

I am interstate and will be visiting this Dec. Not able to collect within 3 month of purchase. Does it mean I am not able to have bonus photo pass?

          • @Benzy: @Benzy my interpretation is that yes you will not be able to use it.

You could always try emailing them for an extension?

          • @Benzy: As mentioned above it’s digital ride photos and candid character photos.

Per the terms of the deal you will miss out on the photo pass if its not collected in 3 months.

Worth a shot emailing but dont be surprised if they say no.

  • Talking from bitter experience when i say this - Make sure the rides are open when you plan to go!!

My family flew to GC for a week last year - half the rides at Movie World were closed meaning the lines were twice as long at the rides that Were open, Wet n Wild was all good except for one slide, and Seaworld had ONE ride open, plus the dolphin enclosure was being rebuilt, so no dolphin show.

We left feeling thoroughly ripped off, and because we had flown there for a holiday, it was impossible to reschedule what days we had chosen to visit.

    • +1

Yea that's dissapointing for guests. They post the planned maintenance schedule for each of the parks on the websites. Effectively they try to have everything open during school holidays, if you go off peak and add one or two unscheduled maintenance on one of the premiere attractions its not great. MW should be a lot better now with WoZ and Scooby which can churn a large number of guests per hour.

    • A lot of Google reviews i've read say the same, always have lots of rides under maintenance.

  • +3

Currently still working, whilst due to have expired.

  • Is anyone else having issues adding their tickets to the app?

    • +1

Yes. just called them and they asked me to scan individual tickets to the apps. I tried it however still didnt work, I just typed one instead of scanning and it worked.

  • -2

Would’ve been nice if this was posted much earlier

    • +5

If you’re keen on a specific business or service I suggest you subscribe to notifications so you don’t miss out

I posted it as soon as I had it, unfortunately I was not targeted with this offer and didn’t receive it directly as I paid $189 for the pass without the photo pass back in Jan.

I’m so glad so many were able to benefit from this offer though after I shared it.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Only noticed this in the morning email today - managed to snag it just before expiry.

  • +1

    Thanks OP.
Saw the post just before going to sleep. Ended up spending hours planning a trip to Gold Coast and around on paper. Bought 4 for the family, never been to any of these.

Is Seaworld Resort worth it considering a perk is cheap resort booking?

  • +1

    Why I miss this?

  • Has anyone figured out how to add your photo to the app? Keep getting an error.

    • +1

I messaged them and they said there's currently a system error with the app.

    • +2

They can take a photo on their handheld ticket scanners at the gate if you are unable to upload one for whatever reason too.

  • Missed out on this offer. Is there any other promotion at the moment?
