Probably wouldn’t get an ASUS/Asrock mobo to pair with these due to warranty issues, otherwise decent price

7800x3d is pretty cheap too and they don't seem to have the same issue

Ya, better to buy a 7800X3D and later upgrade to a higher core count CPU. The 10800X3D might have 12 cores and might be a good jump in performance both for gaming and general use.

    • I'm still on AM4.

What is the issues with the MBs? Is it the CPUs or Motherboards that are causing issues?

And what did you mean by the warranty issues? If you buy this CPU, are you saying might not get warranty for it if the MB fries it?

  • 9800x3d is now the same price as ram, still insane.

  • Comes down to around $520 + GST if you change currency to AUD instead of USD.

  • Anyone recommend a good motherboard for these?

I was looking at 870E, not ASrock due to frying issues, ASUS I heard dropped off, Gigabyte are better again apparently after they dropped off massively and I’ve seen MSI boards report issues with booting on this chipset sometimes. Not to mention the speed throttling from the M2 slots sharing bandwidth with the USB4.

Surely there’s just a motherboard that works for this chipset?

    • Darn. I didn't know there is all these issues with Motherboards. Is it specific to AM5, or have Asus, Asrock dropped?

What have you found through your research on MBs as the one/s to get?

And what are the frying issues (I'm still on AM4), so I am quite surprised to hear this.
