2 kg Bulk Nutrients WPC for $104 regular price and none of the fillers in Amino Z Signature (Xanthan Gum, Lactase Enzyme, Non-Dairy Creamer Powder etc) or INC.

$30 extra is still $30 extra.
Yeah they are a better product and I use to use them before AminoZ. That said when its $30 cheaper for INC100 (assuming its on sale), it's just under 1kg extra for the same price as bulk nutrients.
These days i'll take the cheaper option. INC100 gives me no digestion issues as well, so it works well enough for me.

It'll need to be far better than 10% to come close to other offerings now, speaking as someone who use to pump the 5kg deals every time they'd come up.
This!

You can't really compare WPI vs WPI/C. I understand the price comparison but even INC100 WPI is expensive

Those are both products WPI/WPC blends.

My bad, I stand corrected after looking at their "Amino Z Signature Whey Protein" line. I honestly thought their signature line was WPI.
Well that's awks pricing for Amino Z.
I am just really keen what's really happening in the background for brands to offer huge price differences after discount. But also, it's chemist warehouse, they are prob have such a tiny margin on INC100 after discount, but they can afford to.

what is this INC100 you speak of?

I might use this just to use up my Credit without have to pay shipping. Note that it doesn't work with Subscribe and save (need to remove this for code to work and get free shipping)

feel like pure sh*t, just want the old aminoz deals back

@bAps, while we do have a new deal in the works (see post below), those old deal prices are long gone for us I'm afraid. WPI ingredient pricing just makes ~$30/kg unobtainable for us.
Thanks for ordering from us previously though, I appreciate it.
Jay

Isn't this the same as their S&S discount of 10%?

yep, but you do get free shipping for $50 spend instead of $150

Quite hard to justify buying from them rather than anyone else when their biggest differential (the price) is gone.

Still not worth the 60 difference between INC and Amino. Unless you are OK spending. Different people, different priorities.

@John Doh
Some folks like to suck a thick one/ like to be a teachers pet it appears - like it will win them some brownie points or something lol
Defending or justifying a bad deal is not going to magically make it good.

Ive actually been pretty disappointed with AminoZ. Their range feels way too sweet, and Ive been struggling to get it to blend well. It gets extremely foamy in a blender or shaker, and takes on a curdled texture in anything hot. I havent had this problem with other brands.

@shiver I appreciate the feedback and will pass this along to our team.
Please feel free to reach out to the team, if you're unhappy with the product we're happy to look after you. We've been doing a lot of work on our flavours recently and last year we did review sweetness levels of our products based on a lot of feedback about certain flavours being too overly sweet.
One thing is that our WPI is not suitable to be used in hot liquid. WPI is quite heat sensitive and so I wouldn't recommend putting this into anything particularly hot.
Jay

Appreciate the kind words @Windows98
Jay

Thanks for the feedback @IgorRullez and this is certainly an recurring topic on OzBargain.
I have elaborated on this in my post below, but we are no longer pricing our regular price down the bottom of the market as it's no longer feasible for us.
However, our upcoming deal will be much more price competitive.
Jay

I still have aminoz credit to use up from 2024 or so, they have been silent on deals for sometime.

@DaTa thanks for purchasing from us in the past. In case you didn't pull the trigger, we'll have something coming up soon, refer to my post below.
Jay

I had $40 credit, ended up getting 1kg of dynamic whey for $23 delivered, think it's as good as it's going to get at this point.

There is a horse in my whey!
Neigh!! 🐴

AminoZ is a lesson in people treating store credit as part of the deal, it's only ever a lock in mechanism.
Edit: store credit that you aren't immediately using or from a big variety retailer like JB-HI-FI

Worked well when we used the credit the next deal, mines still sitting at $40 from the last deal :( might need to look at using now I guess.
Edit: looks like I can get 1kg of signature protein for $23 think this is the best it's going to get as I've been holding onto the points for over a year. What flavour? choc malt?

Choc malt actually was quite nice if you’re on the fence
FWIW Aminoz was happy to replace 1kg of a flavour I didn’t like with no fuss (I can’t remember which one it was now)

Choc malt was one with the lowest protein content from memory.

@DaTa: Can confirm, Aussie Choc Malt, while a top seller of ours, is not the highest protein %, and is relatively low within the entire collection. 64.1% protein. In a 40.8g serve you'll get 26.1g of protein, but also 9.9g of carbs (primarily from the malt added in).
Jay

This is great insight @BadAtNames
Though certainly not our intention, I take your point.
With our upcoming deal (referenced here), I feel this is a very important consideration. We'll structure it in a way to avoid exactly this disappointment you're describing.
Jay

So TLDR: there is a hypothetical deal at some unknown point in the future. We're way more expensive because we taste (subjective claim) better.
The actual way to address this if you really didn't have this intention would be to refund store credits as actual money to customers.

Read this thread if you keen to learn why they have jacked up their prices on WPI.
TLDR: They model around rainbow of flavours with shocking low protein grams % as that’s what their intended audience are after. Go figure!

That's fair for WPI, but they should have much better value options for WPC and a blended protein. WPI needs to be lean, but WPC/blends should be good value.

Thanks for raising this @AnDyStYLe as this has been another key point raised here on OzBargain.
I have referenced this further in my post below, but I can confirm that yes, we have moved to a range of flavours.
In terms of macros, this will vary widely based on flavour. Some flavours will be significantly lower than others. As @AnDyStYLe has pointed out, by way of example:
- Caramelised Dutch Cookie 66.6 g per 100g
- Mango Milk 73.1 g per 100g
- Brown Sugar Milk Tea 69.3 g per 100g
- Durian King 63.2 g per 100g
Aussie Choc Malt is another example cited above in this thread, due to the inclusion of malt (which bumps the carbs up).
13 flavours will have 80%-90% protein, 11 will be 70%-80% and 6 will be 60-70%. Here's a full table of our WPI for reference (or you can find it on the "Nutritional Info" tab on the product page). Protein g/100g:
Protein Unflavoured 90 g Banana 85.7 g Vanilla Creamy 85.6 g Indulgent White Chocolate 84.9 g Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream 84.7 g Coconut Ice Cream 84.4 g Creme Caramel 83.2 g Taro Milk 82.9 g Iced Coffee 81.8 g Matcha Latte 81.2 g Vanilla Malt Milk 81.2 g Mint Choc Chip 80.8 g Smooth Milk Chocolate 80.4 g Chocolate 79.4 g Brazilian Chocolate (Brigadeiro) 79.3 g Strawberry 79.2 g Hojicha Latte 77.2 g Choc Cherry Delight 77 g Chocolate Honeycomb 76.3 g Earl Grey Milk Tea 75.7 g Signature Milk Tea 74.5 g Mango Milk 73.1 g Pandan & Coconut (New & Improved) 71.6 g Coconut (Buko) Shake 70.7 g Brown Sugar Milk Tea 69.3 g Cookies and Cream Ice Cream 67.3 g Caramelised Dutch Cookie 66.6 g Dark Chocolate 66.5 g Aussie Choc Malt 64.1 g Durian King 63.2 g
I do recall at some point in time the exotic/indulgent flavors had a surcharge, essentially an added amount on top of the standard flavor pricing.
Then I believe you changed it so that all flavors were the same price as part of an increase across the board.
Why didn’t you keep the pricing tier? As a consumer of the standard flavors, why am I now paying to subsidise the other consumers that have a taste for the exotic flavors that lack the protein content?
Just another reason why I won’t choose to buy from Amino Z now knowing this.

Hi @AnDyStYLe
You are 100% correct. We previously had flavour surcharges, typically +$3 or +$5 for certain flavours on our WPI.
We received very mixed feedback on this. It's not industry standard to do this and caused a lot of confusion for our customers, which resulted in a number of complaints from our customers. The key feedback was as follows:
- Different price tiers added unexpected charges
- Customers felt "penalised" for choosing certain flavours, leading to a lot of dissatisfaction
- This approach lacked transparency and caused confusion, not being standard practice
Sure, we had our reasons for attempting to have a "per flavour" price, and one of those reasons was as you have highlighted above.
We did have some discussion around this here on OzBargain, including here and here. This feedback, in addition to all the direct complaints we received, were key factors in deciding to go with one price as opposed to multiple price points.
I understand your point above, which is why we trialled this out in the first place. But from our experience, this was not the best solution for our customers. The feedback from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive since we reverted to a single price across all flavours.
Anyway, thanks again for the feedback. As much as I would love to have you back as a customer, I completely understand your perspective.
Jay

@aminozcomau: Thanks for the comprehensive insights, as always you never shy away to provide a response.
I wish you guys nothing but success!
I’ll keep an eye out on the deal in the works you mentioned further below, look forward to see what you bring and will support it if it’s a good one 👍

Vanilla Malt Milk and Taro Milk seem to be the best protein content from the Signature range with 75% 74.9% protein. Im ok with WPC WPI blends in the current market.

Best part about Aminoz deals is finding out in the comments which competitors are currently the best value protein, cos it sure ain't these guys anymore.

INC, Coles Pea Protein, BN with bulk buys, Musashi on sale.

decent deal but think i can skip this. ive still got like 4kg to go through

Thanks for the support @cerealsmok3r!
Jay

2.99 for a kilo using my 60 dollar credit finally can use it for something

Even with 10% still crazy expensive. You can get 5% off at BN with codes floating around, and even without bulk pricing its cheaper. How far they've fallen.

Hi everyone,
First off, thank you @John for posting up our offer on OzBargain, I appreciate your support as always. And of course this extends to the support of the wider community. Irrespective of the sentiment shared, it's always helpful insight and feedback.
For this particular promotion, this wasn't designed to be posted up on OzBargain. We haven't done any discount oriented sales since 2024. However, off the back of some recent feedback received from here and here, we are slowly testing out some different strategies. One suggestion from @John relates to this promotion, as we did want to test out some free shipping offers significantly below our standard $149 offering. (Thank you John!)
A number of our OzBargain customers have been asking when our next bigger OzBargain deal is. I can confirm that we have something in the works which I feel will represent better value than our recent Banana WPI clearance. Date is still TBA as it is dependent upon a few factors (production schedules, arrival dates of ingredients etc.).
As to not set any false expectations, relative to this current LNY offer, this upcoming deal will have a a larger buy in, but ultimately unit prices will be more competitive. However, our WPI will be no where near our deal prices of 2024. With WPI prices nowadays, we just cannot make the financials work.
In terms of the general feedback above, I appreciate it all and I'll respond to most of the comments individually.
A recurring topic that is raised is around our regular pricing. I get it, especially we used to be one of the cheapest and now we're not. I understand that this shift in business direction has been a big one and has impacted some of our customers negatively.
As to not misrepresent the direction that we're taking with our products, I feel that it's important to stress that we are not the cheapest in the industry with our regular pricing. Far from it. By way of example, our WPI is sitting at $84.99 for 1kg before discount. You can grab WPI for $68 for 1kg before discount elsewhere (well, cheaper if you look hard enough). But based on these figures, we are selling at $16.99 (25%) more for 1kg before discount.
The reason we cannot sell at such a low price is that we are leaning into differentiation on flavour range, flavour novelty and our product quality. This all comes at a substantial cost (R&D and ingredients in particular), which is why we cannot be the cheapest with our regular pricing. For further context, I've elaborated on this here, here and here.
This has led to the release of many differentiated flavours in our WPI, including our Milk Tea range, Durian (originally requested on OzBargain), Hojicha, Dark Chocolate and Vanilla Malt Milk. We have more on the way too, as well as completely new product formats.
Anyway, thank you again for all the feedback. It's something I share with our team regularly, which sparks a lot of discussion/debate internally.
Any questions/feedback/complaints, please share and I'm happy to address all.
Jay

Thanks for being proactive as usual Jay. Had just stocked up during EOY (before the price increase) so I got few kgs sitting at home still. But appreciate listening to feedbacks and actually working on them too.

Thanks @John. There is a lot of feedback to take on board. All very valuable and valid, but in reality, not all are actionable. We have a long laundry list of ideas off the back of all of this discussion.
Thanks again for your input. A lot of customers have jumped on this deal and it's got us thinking about a few other barriers for our customers beyond just that $149 free ship threshold.
Jay

Hi Jay,
Thanks for the honesty and openness. Just an idea - not everyone requires WPI, would it be possible for you to look into WPC or blends to offer some options around $35-$40kg? I think that price point would sell like hotcakes. Not everyone needs a super lean option but just want a concetrated protein bump when needed.

Yeah it's a fair point @JSONBourne
I wouldn't rule out WPC. We don't currently have a WPC only product, which means something like this wouldn't be feasible in the short term (formulation can take some time).
This is something we're actively discussing, and has been quite heavily influenced by the collective feedback received here on OzBargain in the past few weeks. WPI pricing is continuing to increase and for some, the price point is becoming quite out of reach. While WPC is also impacted, it hasn't to the same extent (yet, at least). So we are trying to figure out the best way forward around what whey sources we'll lean into.
There are other considerations too, like how much cash is invested up front into WPI vs WPC, storage constraints, product range etc. But we are definitely considering this as one option.
Thanks again for the suggestion!
Jay

Dang i just missed this by a few days :(

@Louel to avoid any confusion, this offer is running until Sunday. Thanks for your interest :)
Jay

Hi Jay, trying to use the code on 4kg of subscribe and save and it’s coming up with Coupon code "HORSE" is not valid.

Hi @Jemz. Thanks for asking.
You cannot stack this code with Subscribe and Save, nor any other discounts.
If you want to subscribe, you can add this to your account without adding to cart (use the link that appears when you select Subscribe & Save). You will get 10% off with this normally.
Worth noting, you can use store credit (Z Points) or gift vouchers. It's just other discounts won't work.
