So is this one a little bit crap or extremely crap?

    • +16

      landfill crap

      • +10

Mate you're doing it wrong. You're supposed to use the thing, not throw it away 🤡

    • +1

it's $29, buy a handful for christmas ligfhts / projection mapping

  • You would probably need to use this an underground bunker with the light off to see the projected image. Other than that, keep in mind projectors can generate a bit of heat, and if one costs $35… perhaps be extra cautious.

  • +11

It projects the image that you're cheap and buy junk compulsively.

  • +2

A total lack of reviews, as well as brightness figures missing from both the product listing and box, should tell you everything you need to know about this device

  • +6

White light output ANSI: 120lm (taken from instruction manual, page 23 )

For reference (from Google ai) - 60W-equivalent LED bulbs (typically 7-9W actual power) offer energy-efficient, long-lasting (up to 15,000+ hours) lighting for homes, producing roughly 𝟴𝟬𝟬+ 𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀

    • +1

LED lumens are increased by a factor of 2.4 based on the ANSI lumen. Therefore, an ANSI lumen of 50 would translate to 120 LED lumens. Likewise, an ANSI lumen rating of 1000 would equal 2,400 LED lumens.

glad i bought popcorn, it's a $35 projector, what are you guys expecting ? was you going in to business to compete with the drive in cinema down the street ?

thanks OP, guess you cannot please all the people all the time.

Why are we destroying the planet for this crap

      • +3

How else do you propose we destroy the planet?

        • +1

Oh the usual: banker wars / propping up the military industrial complex

  • +1

    720p..

    • +10

Move it closer to the wall, you'll get high def /s

  • +1

any recommendations for budget full HD projector?

  • +1

Thank gosh the Kmart returns policy is generally pretty straightforward

  • 720 is more likely for the size of a laptop screen

  • Good for the caravan?

    • As a torchlight for inside, probably usable.

  • +3

I see a lot of people here dissing it bc it's 720p, but the difference from 720p to 1080p may not be all that visible if you're projecting live action movie onto a wall, say. Besides, there's a lot more to a projector than the resolution. There was a 720p Vamvo that this guy rated very highly, but then got replaced by a 1080p one—with the same model number!—that he didn't rate as well. That's not to say this particular 720p projector is necessarily good, but not bc it's 720p. There are 720p projectors better than other 1080p projectors.

Ive tried a few cheap projectors and for me the issue is more the lens quality. Cheap ones seem to have a problem having uniform focus across the screen. Id be happy with a 720p if the text at the edges was as clear as in the middle.

What procurement team orders this s#17 and then has it sit on a shelf in a Dept Store like Kmart until it has so much dust, needs to be under 50% off!?!

  • Does this projector default to displaying HDMI on power up? If not do you know of a little cheapish LED projector that does?

(I am looking at making an alarm clock that displays the time if and only if it is morning.)

    • Its fan alone for sure will wake you up.

      • But it won't show an HDMI signal on startup without need for pressing buttons?

        • Is that what you want?

          • @wisdomtooth: I have a device similar to that, but it has no way to automatically turn on the projector in the morning, and the reviews claim the linked device only works at night.

  • HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY PURCHASED THIS YET? WHAT'S IT LIKE?

    • +2

No but I’m going to give it a try. The fan will probably be noisy AF. It’ll work ok for kids until they knock the whole thing over.

      • For the kids, I'd much rather get something like this that you can point at the ceiling, and the kids watch rolling around on the carpet. If you get the right one, it can be pretty good too (in the dark, ofc).

        • Love the wisdom…..Page unavailable, But googling shows that it's maybe $80…
so, in true Ozbargain fashion, you're saying "SPEND MOAR DOLLEYROOS TO GET BETTUR"
not only that, you're linking to a website where the products are in USD ranging from $25 to $$$$$

Whilst I agree with your sentiment, without a tangible, actual quantatative comparison, you're essentially telling everyone
"Lookit moi, I've found other projecturs that are in no way related to this one, AND are all more expensive IF you can even find the same model here down under!"

Sir, i'll give your comment a big fat minus.

  • +2

Have purchased and am surprised at how watchable it is for the price. Feels light and cheap but it focuses fine, colours are acceptable though contrast is not great and brightness is as you'd expect for a cheap projector. Fan is noticeable when you're right next to it but comparable to a laptop on full bore.

Was attracted by the price and the fact it runs on 24v. Intend to make it a cheap camping projector with a 12v-24v step up converter.

By comparison, the wanderer 12v camping projector is 800x480 and $200 though has in an inbuilt battery.

    • THANKYOU!, I'll probably go buy a couple and hook ém to rasperry pi's or something for the kids

Picked one of these up and highly recommend, for the price great value and does the job.
Yep it's not super picture quality but you get more than you pay for at this price
