Everyone is saying it but the price of RAM makes GPUs look cheap.

      🥲

  • Do many people buy these builds without adding Windows 11 license on?

    • Why would you add a license on when you can active it for free, for general use and it's not illegal.

    • I have to use it at work but I'm not planning on ever putting it on any of my own systems. It's awful in so many ways.

    • yup

    • I would hope so

    • +1

You can buy it for ten bucks on a key site

      • … or just activate for free via activation scripts

        • Does it also activate a portal for viruses at the same time?

          • @Homerlovesbeer: No, it's safe. Microsoft are low-key fine with it because it means more telemetry data.

    Anyone remember this deal? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/915956

    • 🥹

    • yup. i was the lucky few to get it.

    • This would run out in minutes if this deal is posted today. I would even get one for my second PC project.
Amazing value even for that time.
I haven't seen Techfast posting any deals these days.

      • I really don't recommend Techfast, it's great if the machine works, I had a bad cpu, they make you take it apart, put it back together, and take photos, communication was through email, it took months to return the damn thing and get it fixed.

      • TF has gone to administration

    • obligatory Pepperige farms members ..

    • I managed to grab this one a little before prices of RAMs started going up. Glad I did. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/873344

  • Do we ever think pricing might come down or stabilise? My wife is looking to get a PC soon (still saving), but prices are just going up and up.

    • +1

Nope, especially with graphics cards becoming scarce again.

      • 5070 to is pretty discontinued at this point, and AMD warned back in December that they would be raising prices on their GPUs due to the current ram situation.

    • From the current looks of things, likely not :(.

  • Wish there were options with 5060ti 16gb

    • +2

A bit tough with pricing, unfortunately. Likely 9060XT 16GB would be the best value.

  • +2

OK deal but not as good as Radium's in my opinion - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/948032.

You can get RTX 5070 as low as $929 according to PGrid. And that PC deal has 240mm AIO cooler, better motherboard and dual stick of RAM.
Prices include delivery and has some free gift too.

Why call it a "1440P gaming rig"?

    I have a 4070 and I can play games in 4K.

    • +2

if its minecraft or fortnite sure. try cyberpunk with high settings and ray tracing maxed out

  • It is a sad RAM world, when there is only one stick of RAM in a Gaming PC.

    Team T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (1x32GB) 6000MHz CL38 DDR5 $449.00

The alternative for two sticks is same amount, plus $100 :(
    Biwin Black Opal DW100 RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory $549@ Centre Com

Reality bites and by the time I write this, RAM prices will probably go up again.
