Dewalt DCZ356P1-XE 18V XR 5.0Ah Li-Ion Cordless Brushless Multi Tool with Kit $279 Delivered @ Sydney Tools / TKD

70

Been eyeing this multi tool kit for a while.

Cheapest in Sydney Tools, and if you're lucky enough like myself, I was able to get one in Bunnings( they have some stocks in store, offline as they've removed the ad online).

Kit Includes:
1 x DCS356
1 x DCB184 (18v XR 5ah battery)
1 x Multi-Voltage Charger
1 x Universal Blade Adaptor
1 x Sanding Pad
9 x Assorted Extreme Abrasive Mesh Sanding Sheets
1 x 31mm x 43mm Wood with Nails Blade
1 x 31mm x 43mm Fast Cut Wood Blade
1 x Small Contractor Bag

Cheapest DCS356 I was able to find is for $249 on Amazon with ATL for $199 so this seems to be a great deal, especially with the 5AH battery & charger.

I got put off the Dewalt multitool after watching this comparison video where it rated really badly https://youtu.be/S92jyiTTxVY?si=LxR6SUFN8gZ9V6GT

Been this price permanently. Not a bargain.

Interesting! I watched that video as i have the dewalt and was curious what sucked about it. Id be put off too, but in my usage of this tool I've had no issues, certainly nothing it hasn't been able to cut. I'd buy it again even after seeing this video. But of course im in that ecosystem.

Good comments. I guess this may be the case where all though it tested poorly at these particular controlled environments that it doesnt equate to real world issues, eg maybe simply applying more pressure on the Dewalt yields better results.

Exactly right. Was tested in a project farm video and the DeWalt could handle more pressure applied. Rated highly from memory. I think its a good tool.

        • Yeah I've never run into any performance problems with mine, I'd trust a PF review over a 'tool review channel' who could easily be influenced

    • I got OP's kit for $236. Could have been a few dollars lower if I had waited for the Spend and Get. It must be the cheapest one in that video.

The Ryobi one in that video is the HP version, which I have never seen below $199. Adding a 4-5Ah battery and charger the price will be over $300.

I got this kit when I needed a multitool to install floorboard. Since then I've been gradually switched from a Ryobi user to a Dewalt one.

  • If you’re not in a rush, sometimes Sydney Tools runs this with a bonus point promotion where this is eligible, earning you $50 worth of points/credit. That’s how I bought mine.
Note that there is a bonus point promotion on currently but this kit is excluded.

    • March madness will be their next sale around March 25th or Easter long weekend.

So why don't you link the Bunnings link?
