Love this wine. Got 24 bottles at the last deal and I'm still working through them!

    • That’s a lotta love! Glad you’re enjoying it. RD :-)

  • It adds $20 postage to mine.

Edit .. sorry, didn't add the code. New user is $10 off, this free post works out $10 cheaper.

    • @PVA are you using the code at checkout?

      • That’s what I said. I didn’t use the code. New user code used, this code used instead is $10 cheaper for 3 boxes. Not a big deal, but a little cheaper.

  • @PVA apologies I’d not seen your edit prior to replying. Glad it all worked out! RD :-)

    • Actually it’s cheaper to use the new user code because I ordered 4 cartons.

@PVA thanks for the order! Broadly speaking, if you’ve got more than one code available, just use whichever works out best for your order - as you have done!

Because you grabbed four cartons, the new user code ends up being the better option in your case.

Glad it all worked out in the end :-)

I'm looking for product with a 60-70 million year-old soil foundation if anyone has any leads.

    • +1

@mr fox Haha, we’d certainly have something in those timeframes! McLaren Vale sits on some very ancient geological foundations, with soils and landscapes that are among the oldest in the world.

Australia’s long geological history, and in our case vines tended by five generations of growers, is part of what makes our wine story a bit different. :-)

  • Does cellaring guidance make much difference for white wines? I thought that was only for reds

    • +1

@cliener Cellaring guidance matters for whites too, just less dramatically than for reds. Most white wines are best enjoyed younger, but some styles do improve or hold well for a few years if stored properly. Our guidance is deliberately conservative so you can open the wine at its peak rather than risk missing it. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Just opened my first bottle after yesterday's delivery, and yikes, so sharp & acidic! Not to my liking at all I'm afraid - very glad I only ordered a half dozen.

On the plus side, I have a bottle of Schweppes Passionfruit open, so I added a splash to my glass. Took the edge off, and the slight passionfruitiness wasn't out of place.

@wilburt Thanks for the honest feedback. Sauvignon Blanc is naturally a high-acidity variety, and the 2025 has been bottled to keep that freshness and line. Some people love that crisp, zesty edge; others prefer a softer, rounder style.

Serving temperature can make a big difference too. If it’s very cold the acidity will show more prominently. Letting it warm slightly in the glass often softens that perception.

Either way, appreciate you giving it a go. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Thanks RD ADL. Magnificent wine. Just bought 12 more. Thanks.

  • Ah terrific - glad you're enjoying :-)

  • How does this (and other Australian Sauvignon Blancs) compare to NZ Sauvignon Blancs? What is it about each country that makes them taste quite different?

    • +1

@kiitos Good question. The difference mainly comes down to climate and winemaking style.

Marlborough in New Zealand has a very cool climate with big day/night temperature swings. That tends to produce Sauvignon Blanc with very high acidity and very intense aromatics - passionfruit, gooseberry, cut grass, capsicum etc.

In most Australian regions, including McLaren Vale, the climate is a little warmer. That usually gives a softer acidity and more tropical or stone-fruit characters, with a slightly rounder palate.

Neither is “better”, just different expressions of the same grape. NZ tends to lean very punchy and aromatic, while many Australian examples aim for a slightly more balanced and food-friendly style.

      Hope that helps. RD :-)
