I can't think of a world where anyone actually cares about a digital comic. Or thinks it's worth anything, licensed or otherwise.
Amazon buying and then absolutely ruining Comixology taught me my lesson about digital comics. Might as well have thrown my money down the drain…
Nowhere in this is an indication that comics are downloadable as PDFs (thus, actually, something you can keep forever*). If you want something akin to this but that lets you download comics try www.neonichiban.com. Not all comics are downloadable but many are (publisher's decision I'd say) and you can resell your digital comics on the site, also, once you're done (unless you download it).
* until you learn the lesson about keeping backups at least
Digital collecting = you don't own the items, and only have access till the platform disappears. Surely no one falls for that crap.
