    Y'know, I don't think I have ever seen Malwarebytes market themselves as an "anti-virus" until now. Their marketing used to be "anti-malware" for as long as I could remember - when did that change and is there actually a meaningful difference between the two?

      They've been marketing it as an antivirus since version 3 was released at the end of 2016. Other big name antiviruses provide better protection. But Malwarebytes isn't too far behind and it keeps getting better.

      you have to install the program then it activates, can't just do it from the browser (least that is how it worked for me)

      Yes I just activated it. I just logged in on the malwarebytes app on PC and it automatically showed the "Total Plan" which renews in Feb 2028.

    Thanks OP. Worked for me on iPhone but forgot to change to the family 20 user license. Went into the dashboard and was able to upgrade for $0. Thanks too for the PayPal auto payments link. Found things from years ago I also deactivated.

      a few years ago, i did the vpn to Brazil & subscribed via paypal, their seller 2checkout/Verifone Payments B.V. changed payment from $us80 to $us200 after checkout because they said my PayPal address was in the US. I had a week of back & forth, they wouldn't budge. I had to lodge a PayPal dispute in the end.

    Yeah - hasn't worked for me too, used Chrome, Safari, Tried iPhone too, still asks for R$1239.74 for 3 users. ( I've even tried VPN to Brazil )
    Anyone got a spare code to share with me ;-)

      Defender was always pretty good, but in the last couple years it has been nearly flawless. I do get the occasional performance hiccup when trying to cut and paste directly from compressed archives, but never a security concern.

      Malwarebytes free use to be amazing - now it feels like a virus itself

        As in payment info ? Did the same as previous with paypal and canceled straight away,
        if your talking all the other data ? I used to have a sub so they would know me anyway….

        The "100% free" link seems to default to 3 devices.
