  • Wicked boneless? How big of a piece are they?

It’s just the old Hot & Crispy pieces rebranded.

      • Better not be! Missus will be pissed. Both prefer the Zinger breast pieces, I didn't mind Hot & Crispy, but she didn't want a bar of the thigh meat. If she bought something branded Zinger, and it turned out to be leg meat, she'd be proper gutted hey.

Thigh fillet is the superior cut.

          • @Veedub: Lot of people prefer it, and I wouldn't try to sway them. But for me, like a trad wife when asked their thoughts on using baby formula, "breast is best"

          • @Veedub: It is, in normal cooking, but I agree with Duke. The HnC is very fatty. Can't beat a zinger fillet.

          What's wrong with her? 🤔

  • Just 6 pieces only

    $8 WICKED BONELESS BOX
    Valid until 23/03/26
6 pieces of golden, crispy Wicked Boneless for just $8.

  • It is only for 6 pieces.

  • Zinger Nachos showing as $8.95 for me.

    • And they are snack size but taste good :(

  • Thank goodness the deals have been overpriced for the last 3 weeks. I'm surprised the good deals lasted so long.

Tried the Wicked Boneless today. Says it's just Hot and Crispy rebranded but what I received today was different. The breading was different to Hot and Crispy and the chicken wasn't marinated like it usually is under the breading. Pieces were also smaller than usual. I mean it could be that the particular KFC I went to didn't make it properly of course but if they have changed the recipe it isn't for the better.

Agreed. Got some weird pieces too they were rectangles and very flat/thin vs the usual H/C. Interesting…

  • Off topic but genuine question, does anyone get mild diarrhoea the next day after eating KFC? I tried it multiple times and always the same result. Nothing too serious, just mild diarrhoea the next day and then it's fine.

I tried multiple KFCs across 3 different continents, and some of them were way spicer than what they have here in Australia and none of them caused me that weird diarrhoea I get here.

I asked Copilot to write a response to your comment, and this is what it came up with:

“Yeah, it happens to some people. Fried food can cause mild diarrhoea depending on the oil or how often it’s reused.
Different countries use different oil blends and cooking methods, so it’s possible the Australian KFC just doesn’t sit well with your stomach.”

      • Reasonable response. Shame, I loved KFC abroad.

    • Try a different store?
Does it happen when you have deep fried from other places as well?

      • Yeah tried 3-4 different locations same result, doesn't happen with other fried food like red rooster and MB.

I guess it's either the type of oil they use here or some specific type of ingredient that they use in their spices that is unique to Australia that doesn't sit right with me.

        • Did this happen before the days you could actually smell KFC? I swear you used to be able to smell the fried chicken before coming in the store but now its almost even down to the bag odorless. They've definitely changed the recipe and or oil

          • @perhaps: I actually dont remember smelling KFC in food courts here in australia, but then again, my sense of smell went to shit since covid, so idk.

One thing for sure, something is definitely done different here vs other KFCs around the world.

  • is this over
