Anyone flown HKA? Last few times I’ve been to HK, I’ve flown Cathay, and have been very impressed with their service

    • I know someone who has, they said it was pretty good, food better than qantas.

They are nowhere near the same quality as Cathay, but for that price you really can't complain.
Also the planes they fly from Sydney are in a 2-4-2 layout which is good if you are traveling as a pair.

Wish it'd worked on multi flights.

I thought Cathay Pacific was Hong Kong airlines

You must have been thinking about HK Express (UO) which used to be the LCC arm of Hong Kong Airlines (HX) under the Hainan Airlines (HU) group of business before it went into financial troubles and got sold to Cathay Pacific (CX) in 2019.
During COVID HX went into financial troubles again and went on a brink of bankcruptcy but was bailed out through debt restructuring. Today HX is a "full service" airline offering a product that is similar to an LCC.

Hong Kong Airlines (HX) is different from Cathay Pacific (CX). It’s actually a “sister airline” of Hainan Airlines under the same parent group. Although HX is a full‑service carrier, its fleet tends to be older and its in‑flight service is generally considered less consistent than CX. That said, HX’s presence in the market has helped break the former CX–QF duopoly, leading to more frequent fare discounts for travellers.

  • I don't like this flight comparison site and it really needs some work to make it more functional for frequent flyers.

I wish it had some other features so you can customise which dates you can travel on to see which days are the cheapest, but I guess you have already provided a sample of days to fly in and out. You can probably mix and match the exit and entry dates based on that sample.

Usually I would be looking to stay around 1 or 2 months in Hong Kong.

The best comparison sites have a selection menu/map where you can choose flexibly the exit date and several carriers and then choose the entry date flexibly as well.
